The Cowleys were at our game last night no idea why as we will not sack Sadler anytime soon unless MK are getting an itchy trigger finger with Alexander?

Feels very Crowley brothers doesn’t it this one. Although are they damaged goods now? Hasn’t really worked for them anywhere since Lincoln.

Williamson is a great manager who has done wonders at Gateshead, but it’d take a year to implement his style of play coming after Hughes. Not sure he’d get the time.

Williamson for me. But I'd be happy with a young manager/coach who plays attacking football.

Cowley’s, for me.

I’ve been very impressed with all our managerial appointments, bar a couple.

98-00 - Paul Jewell
2000 - Chris Hutchings (meh)
01-02 - Jim Jeffries
02-03 - Nicky Law
03-04 - Bryan Robson
04-07 - Colin Todd
07-10 - Stuart McCall
10-11 - Peter Taylor
2011 - Peter Jackson (meh)
11-16 - Phil Parkinson
16-18 - Stuart McCall
2018 - Simon Grayson
2018 - Michael Collins (meh)
18-19 - David Hopkin
19-20 - Gary Bowyer
2020 - Stuart McCall (meh)
2021 - Trueman & Sellars (meh)
21-22 - Derek Adams
22-23 - Mark Hughes

We generally make very good appointments, which is what worries me, again. It doesn’t matter what or who we recruit, we’re just a fucking poisoned chalice.

I swear it’s only a matter of time before we’re in non-league.

Go for the guy at Crawley, doing a sterling job with basket case owners.

(Failing that I know of a nice bloke locally who might shore up your defence, not much compo to be paid either)
Not sure the owners are basket cases any more.
Anyway, Lindsey won't leave Crawley at this point. He'd be daft to. Don't get me wrong. I'd love it. The City players wouldn't know what's hit them, but Lindsey strikes me as a man who's happy with life as it is.

When we played Forest Green, Bowyer wouldn't let any of our players go past the halfway line. The worst brand of football I've seen.
I was at that game and yes the City tactics were so unbelievable that it remains stuck in my memory all these years later.

You can have Parkinson back, his football is fucking shite.
It’s a hard watch but he took us from 18th in L2 to the L1 play offs, the league cup final and FA cup quarters so you won’t hear many complaints from us.

He'd failed at Huddersfield before you appointed him though.
I don't recall his name ever being mentioned when we got rid of Dean Keates, and he did what it took to get us out of non league, albeit with a heavy financial clout. He doesn't want to sway away from his 352 or 532 whichever and doesn't like making any subs until the 80th minute.

And the tactics....jesus.

Lindsey moved to Crawley to be nearer his family in Kent. I heard he had some tragedy in his home life and wanted to be closer.

Never say never but a move to Bradford would be surprising.

Whoever Bradford get they do need to strengthen too I don’t think it’s just a manager issue although they are obviously better than what’s occurred this season so far.

Are they? Their squad looks horrendous. Old, slow, lacking in skill, pace and depth of goalscoring behind Cook. I think that's why Hughes has failed, because he lost a couple of his better performers in Crichlow and Banks, replaced them with randomers and misfits and didn't improve the squad over the summer. Look at Stockport signing Powell, Barry and Touray. Is Bradford's squad better now than it was last season? Not for me it's not.

Whoever takes over there, whether it's a results manager like Cowley, a project manager like Artell or a football manager like Williamson at Gateshead, they will need time and patience. Because I don't think that team, Cook aside, it anywhere near promotion calibre.

So the new owners do have a ruthless side. I suspect financially we have to go up this season, with Nil in charge and cracks appearing that was far from guaranteed.

He kept us up last season against the odds, but even with a squad upgrade the same lack of goalscoring issue remains and he's not been able to tackle it.

Bloody hell Gills, if we jumped off a bridge would you do the same? First Williams now this. Not good for us having a big spending fish in the same managerial pool.

Our first XI is good enough for top 7 but behind that it's garbage. We've certainly regressed from last year and as you say Banks and Critchlow haven't been adequately replaced.

Fair play to all the ones who called Harris to be gone before Christmas.

Was Neil Harris really struggling at Gillingham? Good start to the season and then a run of three games with only one point, but against two teams competiting at the top end and a much improved Donny. I guess it depends on the owners' expectations and how much they've spent but seems like half the teams in L2 would consider anything less than winning the title at a canter to be failure.

Just swap managers - or now, ex managers.

Gone before Christmas was a fair shout, gone before the clocks went back, with his side a point out of the play-offs after 11 games, is a shocker.
