Sad state of affairs this Macc business. They got a decent side this year and should be looking forward to next season, if only they didn't have this crap to contend with.

Why can't we get rid of Stevenage instead ffs?

That so? Things are much more serious than I was thinking then. I seem to recall one team coming in their own cars but that was quite a long time ago, probably sometime around 1999. No idea which team it was but if I were to take a guess I'd say Donny Rovers.

Yep, no coach they had a section of the away car park sectioned off to allow them to park there.

Vale did it at Stoke once, when Mt Bell controlled the purse strings.

Amar cancelled a hotel booking for our trip to Forest Green (last Sunday) two days before it, too.

So will they last the season?

Be strange if a team goes down then Macclesfield are unfortunately kicked out anyway.

Hopefully won't come to that ofcourse!

The poor bastards having to use their own petrol to travel all the way from Burslem to Stoke, must’ve set them back at least 50p each.

Not at the prices Billy Bell charged them for their hire cars!
I think they were more worried about the lack of security at Stoke.

So, after 6 weeks of screwing around, head scratching and not knowing what to do, it looks like Ross Embleton will finally be made our Pernament Head Coach (Moving up from the interim level) at some point in the next ten days before we play again.

I've heard the delay has been due to Ross wanting a long term contract and also with the security that if he is sacked he can still be a coach at the club (Hope that last clause isn't included, because lets face it - thats bollocks).

I don't particularly want this, as much as our squad run through brick walls for him and each other, he is tactically out of his depth and hasn't been able to make us hard to beat. Our defensive record is shocking and we usually fall behind in games - Ross then usually throws everything and the sink at the opponents in the hope that we get something from games, this has worked this season on a few occasions but more often than not its after poor starts.

Our performances over Christmas were nothing short of crap, despite winning our game the week before at Cambridge. Alot of our fans want an experienced manager and are now seriously getting the hump - Which I can't argue with.

Our board and Martin Ling have now got to bring in some better experienced players for this level to help us out, we made a good start today signing goalkeeper Lawrence Vigouroux.

Ling and our board have come under heavy criticism for the Carl Fletcher fiasco and alot fans also think most experienced managers won't want to work with him - Mainly because Ling and our board don't want to remove the current backroom staff already in place. Personally - I understand this because Danny Webb is good coach and so is Ross and morally it is the right thing to keep them on after last season and last summer, the fans also really like them.

Our club is still grieving, the heirachy don't know what to do and Ross Embleton has tried to keep everything together whilst still grieving himself.

I hope when this is official it will be the push our players need, but I can't see much hope right now. Its all still one big mess and now our certain people in our fanbase are starting to behave and act like spoilt C***s.

McMahon taken over at Dagenham, obviously was something that had been lined up as an escape route.

I'm guessing that would then be what the reference to the legal team would be from the club statement?

That last clause would be a bit mad. Reminds me of Tony Humes being sacked with us and then appearing as the more senior Director of Football not too long afterwards...

I'll back Fenty on one thing and that's I do believe he wants a stable long term appointment like Hurst, despite what some people think. Bignot being an alleged crackpot aside, he tried his best to keep Slade as long as possible and if Jolley didn't offer to leave I personally think he'd have been here for the long haul.

You never know what will happen but it does all sound like Olly is genuinely here for the long term. He has said all the right things, though we know he's a master at it, and the shares purchase is some solid proof of commitment. What it will come down to is fan pressure, as it always does. If things don't go well on the pitch, how long until it turns sour again? We have one of the most emotional, impatient fanbases in the country. If he doesn't play 442 in at least the next 2 games you can bet there'll be a handful of people wanting him out. This is still an immensely toxic football club and it will take an incredible amount of work to turn it around, but I do think we have a manager capable of doing it.

A manager here for the long term? Hardly ever happens anymore, don’t get fanciful.

"And to prove our commitment to the challenge I have invested £100,000 to buy shares in the club, which means a place on the board as well as in the hot-seat.

I believe that could prove a shrewd business move if I can take the team to a higher level and plans to move to a new ground go through."

Does anyone actually believe the new Stadium will even happen? Bit of a conflict of interest as well, no? How can they talk honestly and openly about Holloway in the Boardroom when he's sat across the table from them (aside from asking him to step out the room whilst they talk about him...)?

Staggered he's been as open and as honest as that. Basically admitted he wants to make money out of the club?

Grimsby fans will of course lap it up if he does well, and who can blame them? But that's a recipe for disaster if things go the other way.

The stadium will take, what, 8-10 years to happen? Maybe 5 at best if Fenty gets his Tory council to force it through quickly.

I quite appreciate that he's being honest about it all. He sees us as a project and thinks he can play a part in moving us forward behind the scenes. I imagine the idea is he might move into a director of football role or something later on. I couldn't begin to predict when the stadium might happen but, and I say this with bated breath, it looks as close as it ever has right now.

We've been teetering on the edge of oblivion for a long while now and this time last week morale was at an incredible low. I think this is all a big risk but it is absolutely the one we should be taking. If it goes tits up then it's just par for the course here. The rewards however could be huge. I'm as excited as I've been for a very long time supporting this club.

Clever from Macc if true, they’re hoping that his effing and blinding will turn the air blue so that they can save money by not having to put the heating on.

Hope Jolly gets another managers job, he'll have learnt from his mistakes both media and footballing wise during his time with us.

I don't know why our results began to go sour though, so maybe he isn't the wonderful coach/manager we all hoped he'd be.

Jolley had us being very inconsistent but that's just the level we are at. He's still a relatively inexperienced manager that will be learning as he goes. I don't think things were nearly as bad as some people made out nor was our August that amazing either. Holloway might get this same crop playing miles better but to then hold that over Jolley would be unfair imo.

There are much, much worse managers out there. Hope he gets back into it soon, he gave us some good memories and I was bitterly disappointed when he left, though I'm now very grateful he stepped aside for Holloway!

No media around Macc so he'll be fine with his interview techniques.

He must have some serious cash lying about to be able to work for nowt.
