4 1/2 year deal actually!

That's a shocking appointment.
Sounds like they have just appointed a yes man who won’t the boat like Slav did .

Sounds exactly like that. Some of the comments coming out of the introductory press conference sound really odd too, such as

“I don’t care, I’m not from Sheffield and I am not a football man.”

Exactly what you want to hear from the bloke whose just sacked a manager, appointed someone else in his place and is running your club.

Some teasing rumours that the Postman was on his way out last night but I can't see it.

We'll probably beat Barnsley in the next game and he'll buy another month's worth of credit.

I want to see Gareth Ainsworth come in, it's more than just the football and results now, the club is in total apathy, we need a personality who will fire up the players and the fans because right now, most of us don't give a shit.

Thank fuck, he's gone.

He should have gone immediately after the Blackpool game over a month ago, that turgid shit which was served up game after game just couldn't go on. No style of play, no real plan, just hope to keep it tight and pray for set pieces. Rumours that players have said the training sessions are 'a joke'.

I don't think there was a single PNE fan who didn't want him gone.

But still, he was only the short term problem, the fucking dinosaur that is Peter Ridsdale is still in charge of every aspect of the club and i've no faith in him to appoint the right man. Grant McCann was in the running last time, and even Roy Keane was in contention supposedly.

Just go and get Ainsworth, we need someone who will get the fans on board and motivate the club from top to bottom. I can handle agricultural football as long as there is some passion and something resembling tactics.

PS. No ill-will towards McAvoy, he seems a good guy, just never a Championship manager in a million years.

Expected to have a new manager in place by Saturday.

The LEP says the manager we have in mind is employed by another club.

I bet its Grant McCann because of his cheap buy out.

I know he has the connection with you but be surprised if Ainsworth considered leaving Wycombe at this point. Not that you arent a draw, especially for him - just feels like he has such a good thing going there with a realistic shot at promotion this season and becoming a Championsip/L1 yo-yo team which is punching very much above the weight of where they "should" be given resources. To be honest even if they got relegated to League 2 im not sure he would be sacked there, just seems he has free reign there. Preston are clearly a bigger side and its definitely a step up but is it a big enough step, even with the connection to pry him away from that sort of job security in an inherently unstable job? Could easily go wrong and be out again in a year. Maybe im wrong but he just looks so comfortable there.

Strange things happen in football obviously but would be surprised at that.

He wanted it before McAvoy got the gig, plus we'd probably treble, or quadruple his wage which is the main thing.

He may be comfortable and I think he has kids in school down there but how often do we see L1 managers turn down a Championship job?

That said, I don't even think he's on the club's radar, just the fans.

Ryan Lowe heavy favourite apparently.

Lowe looks like it could be announced today, obviously personal terms dependent.

£250k compo for Lowe.

His assistant, Schumacher is staying at Plymouth as interim but could follow later down the line, reading between the lines. He seems settled down in Devon though.

He's resigned so maybe this was the fee for him to buy himself out of his contract? No idea.

Messy way to leave his previous club but everything I read about him is good, looking forward to Saturday now and I definitely haven't said that since about 2019.

Confirmed.

Think we've done the dirty on Plymouth here with him resigning.

Just hoping for a decent standard of football and a bit of passion on the pitch and in the dugout, so it can transfer back to the stands.

Looks like Mike Marsh will be Lowe's No.2.

He was Steve Cooper's assistant at Swansea, ex first-team coach at Liverpool.

Hull replace McCann with Shota Arveladze. Seems to have managed in a few places, none of them seem particularly successful!

Ismael gone then. Not sure where they go from here, team has played one way all season. Who knows what to do, totally pivot to a different style or try and manage your way through to the summer and change it then. They could still conceivably do well get into the playoffs and have a chance such is their depth and quality.

Bit weird they didn’t pull the trigger at some point in January and give a new manager an opportunity to bring in and ship out some players purely there for Ismael

They’re pivoting to Steve Bruce…

Sacking someone on 2 Feb makes no sense whatsoever.

To be fair to Bruce, he has 4 promotions from this league. He'll probably just get the side back to basics and let the quality in the squad do the business. Imagine it would be an end of season deal, with the option to stay on.

A sensible appointment in my opinion.

Steve Bruce confirmed at Albion, shame as I like them as a club but hope that snakey bastard fails miserably.
