Nigel Howe, who replaced Ron Gourlay (who worked with Paul Clement at Chelsea) as CEO yesterday, showing his hand very early on by sacking Clement. He was the man who helped orchestrate two promotions under Steve Coppell and Brian McDermott, two safe managerial choices at the time. Simon Grayson and Steve Bruce seem to be the early frontrunners, be interesting to see who Howe picks. I wouldn't be at all surprised to see him appoint somebody who knows the club inside out, or an experienced Championship man.
Fancy Lee Johnson?

Why on earth would you want to watch the dog turd served up by a Parkinson team?

Luis Castro, Gareth Ainsworth, Alan Pardew and Slavisa Jokanovic are on the four man shortlist.

No idea who Castro is but Jokanovic looks the stand out choice to me, I'd be surprised if he took the Reading job though with the way it is right now.

Surely Grayson would be a shoe-in for the Bolton job if Parkinson goes?

No compo, north west based, proven he can work within a strict budget.

This should be right! Added Bruce in now even though he doesn't start till February.

That looks good, surprised only 5 have been sacked at this stage. Be interesting to see how many had gone at the same stage last season.

Looks like he’s walking which is even more alarming. No payout so something must be up.

Sigh, here we go again.

Not convinced by it, been out of club football for about five years and not managed at this level since the mid 90s.

He's a dinosaur.

The football he played with Ireland was diabolical.

Glad we never went with Henry. He lasted 20 games at soft Monaco. He would have got chewed up and spat out at Villa. The championship is much tougher.
