Feels a very strange move. Beale was highly thought of as Gerrards assistant and somewhat considered the “brains” of the operation and he’s just been able to get the QPR job. So not sure Critchelys plan here unless he’s banking on Gerrard being sacked so he can takeover at which point why are Villa/Gerrard interested?
I'd imagine money could be a bigger factor, he won't be loaded. He'll be considered for good Championship jobs regardless, so he can probably earn more in the mean time and not impact his career. It seems Gerrard has a lot of pull in the English game.

Will have known each other from Liverpool too

Lowe has brought in Salford's head fitness coach, and Fleetwood's Chief Scout. Certainly seems to have been given a lot of control.

Hope he's bringing in good staff, and not jobs for the boys.
Was out with a former coach yesterday and he’s not happy about what’s going on at the club, reckon Lowe’s an absolute wanker and he’s just bringing his mates along for the ride. Sacking Tom Little who’s very highly rated is a very weird one.

Doesn't shock me, that said, Billy Davies was a wanker and he's my favourite PNE manager.

Jon Dahl Tommason going to Blackburn. Random.

Blackpool are getting some L1 assistant as theirs.

Lashers in uproar about Appleton, it's amazing. Imagine reappointing some who quit the job last time, and who has your main rivals tattoo on his leg.

At least they've provided entertainment in a crap pre season.

I had forgotten about him being there before! I thought it was a good appointment personally, but he’s certainly had a bit of a weird career

He fucked them off after eleven games to go and join Blackburn.

Based on his previous attempts i'd be surprised if he can hack it at this level, he hasn't actually achieved anything in L1 either.

Don't rate Bowyer but can see them ending up with an absolute clown if it's left to Bassini.

Corberan apparently leaving Huddersfield. Wonder if he is off somewhere or perhaps signals a falling out over signings/losing better players, but a huge blow at this stage of pre season I’d suggest. Rated him highly

Yes - not got the money or players he hoped for to push them on?

Fans seem to think he hasn’t been backed and has seen his arse after missing out on some major targets, one being Hourihane.

I think they’ll struggle this season. He got the best out of a very average squad there.

I think he must have something lined up, and he's jumped while his stock was high. Huddersfield looked awful whenever I saw them last season, grinding out games, I'd be amazed if he repeated it. It did seem quite a flukey season.

It was nice while it lasted. Thanks for the memories MON, shame you couldn’t finish the job.

Only surprise is that it took so long .

Stoke have a habit of appointing managers that do well at other clubs etc but fail there.

Nathan Jones for example.

Someone in this division should contact Marcelo bielsa , convince him to join your club by naming a local coffee shop surrounded by countryside scenic views

Doesn't matter if your players are rubbish and done nothing for years he will transform your average midfielder into a maestro and make others that used to resemble fish out of water look like exceptional players , within 2 years he will get your sorry bunch promoted

All whilst cunningly avoiding media scrutiny by pretending to not understand English despite talking it in club videos to players

So far the names mentioned seem to be Dyche, Wilder and Neil. The truth of the matter is they’ll get linked with a ton of different names and in the end it’ll be someone like Pulis. It’s all Coates knows to do if in doubt.

No chance they take Boro or Sunderland's manager. They tried to poach Neil when he was with us I think, and failed.

Dyche is realistic though, it seems a perfect match.

Not sure where they go really they have tried experienced Championship manager in Rowett, tried up and coming manager in Jones and now tried something who was incredibly well thought of but outside the norm in O’Neil and it’s not worked. It’s clearly not a manager issue that they have, it’s more structural so not sure the change will help unless it comes with some broader changes with it.

I can’t see Dyche being that interested, I reckon he will be waiting it out for someone like Lampard to be sacked to go for a failing Premier League club but could be wrong.

Seems a strange move but I wonder if he still has his house in Grimsargh, with kids at school. I regularly used to see him getting on the London to Glasgow train so maybe it's location based.
