Yeah, that's pretty shitty. I genuinely hadn't noticed the thread stating there was even going to be a closure.

At least with a 31st March closing date there might have been a chance for everyone to 'prepare' as such, makes the change a little easier for some. At least the community has come together, would have been terrible if it hadn't and we'd lost lots of people. Seems to be a few still missing but I'm sure they'll be found soon enough.

I looked through everyone who follows Tilbury's Twitter account and then did keyword searches for University, Nottingham and Chelsea. All to no avail.

You're having a laugh surely!!! Tom put in far more work that he was expected to by his employer! Never really worked with Villaboy much, but for the brief period I did he championed many member issues! Obviously I havnt been around for several years, but for the 5 or so years I was that was my opinion!

People are pissed off, understandably. We all know Tom put in an incredible amount of his own time to keep things ticking, but the last few months (particularly the last week) have tarnished peoples opinions a tad.

Direct quotes from his Twitter account:

"we are all old and burnt out. Been coming a for a while. Made easier by a few ungrateful twats too."

"been bumping along for last 3-4 years. Sadly a minority tipped us over the edge to make it an easy decision!"

So, you are judging people on a week and not the preceeding 9 years? At least you can admit it, and yes, it is as ridiculous as it sounds.

So "a few ungrateful twats" means that they thought that members didnt make the forum? Fair enough, youre entitled to your opinion.

Incidentally, I have no idea whose twitter account that is.

I know where you are coming from stu but people are upset that it was closed in such a way.

Anyway, here's to the future. Tff is dead.

I never said that. I just think right now people are annoyed, and people will say such things given the recent goings on.

On a technicality, you said exactly that - it you meant something different maybe you should have said something else? I replied to, and quoted what you said.

II can appreciate people being "mad" or "annoyed", but actually when you think about why surely its just a bit odd isnt it?

Curzon Ashton....and Carlisle
I didn't think there was any problem with them deciding to close TFF and i never seen many complaining at their decision

infact last couple of days seemed to go ok, agreements made on just using the next month to find a new home and plans to end TFF on a nice note and maybe celebrate afew things from the past.

I think whoever just decided to stick 2 fingers up the last 24 hours may regret it down line, instead of TFF ending on a high note with a nice last month of reflection it just gets flushed down the toilet and forgotten.

To some degree it works both ways though. On one hand you could argue that having put the time in etc, the admin have the right to do what they want. But at the same time, it's a big part of member's lives too who have invested in it and to be treated in a ridiculously heavy-handed manner isn't really justifiable imo.

Can anybody get in touch with Vegetable Legs?? Really need him on here, great poster. Isn't he an Ipswich fan?? Can TB get in touch with him somehow or does anyone follow, or is being followed by him on Twitter? I'll miss Veggie if he doesn't make it over here.

Like Jockney's said and I agree, the Admin probably were looking for an escape plan. If they'd just said they were done, the forum was closing etc, I think the vast majority would have accepted it and everything was seen more fondly but the actions in the last six months or so has left a bitter taste in the mouth for many.

Oh and I don't really want to take away from this place/fresh start by continuing talking about TFF. Made my peace anyway.

EG's Twitter is @Jenks6 but I don't have Twitter to contact him.

I messaged him, has he signed up yet?

Think it was Busby Boy. And don't quote me on this, but I'm almost certain he constantly interviews that Andy Tate fella for that Man United fan YouTube account. Adam McKola, or something similar.

Aye, that's him.

I saw Alty said he can message him, but if he hasn't he's on Football Forums.

Dover 4 Life is into wrestling isn't he? Messaged him on the club forum to no avail...might have to actually speak to him in person about it at the football

Callum? I have him on twitter if you haven't been able to let him know yet.

I cant comment on anything recently, but if 2007-2012 were anything to go by then the escape plan would be to accept one of the silly offers to buy the forum!!!

You're right what you say about the majority of the time though by the way. It's quite sad really because the vast majority of my 9 year stint were really good and I didn't have anything too negative to say about Admin. On the whole, I'm sure everyone is grateful and accept the members were valuable to them, it's literally recently where it's gone a bit weird imo.

I guess a thread called "missing TFF'ers" should probably be avoided then?
