We are 8th and have played 5 of the top 7 already, next game is against another one too! Wouldn't have believed it if you offered this at the start of the season.

Christ, carlisle are poor. I'm gobsmacked by quite how bad they are.

Thought it was a more comfortable victory than last week. We let them bust their balls for 30 minutes and after that there was only one team that looked like scoring. Probably should have been 2 or 3 in the end with a bit more composure. Ripley, bar one very good save, was a virtual spectator second half.

It's noticeable that we look extremely fit...mk looked out on their feet and were just pumping hopeful balls where as we were still full of running. Debrah made them look a bit of a mug as they'd clearly been instructed to press him when he had the ball, but he kept finding a good pass.

I've been critical of Moore as I think he's been a bit cautious, but these last 2 weeks he's got it spot on.

Yes get in there Morecambe

You've got a team of battlers there. Probably holds you in good stead compared to other teams that have higher expectations and have spent a lot more but find themselves down the bottom.

We were abysmal as we usually are in these derby type games. Crossing was awful. We won't get anything at Accrington next week either playing like that.

They spent 90 minutes doing the Diag which early on caused us issues but once we got to grips with their style it was comfortable for us. Really odd they never deviated from it at all. Got to the point we didn’t even bother pressing as we knew what the keeper would do with it.

Expected them to be far better on the ball than that and play a footballing style similar to County but wasn’t really the case.

I just think they massively tired. The lad on the wing for them was great for 30 minutes but was awful after that. As with County last week, they ran out of ideas.

Stockley was terrific. He was the striker that mk wish they had. In spite of the fact that the ref gave 2 or 3 free kicks against him because he had the temerity to challenge for a ball. Another terrible ref who also gave them a free kick in stoppage time, when it was our player who was fouled! The lads did well to keep their composure there as even their players were surprised!

Still relatively early days but I do like a league where everything is as close as that table than basically a few clubs dominating and the rest fighting over scraps. Might be wrong but I reckon it’ll stay the same all season.

Yeah there’s too much creative burden on Crowley for us with Jones out and today was one of the days he decided to just keep doing Cruyff turns instead of actually crossing or shooting. I thought him and Dobra had similar games actually, obvious quality but didn’t do enough to actually impact it.
Crowley needs managing. He's over playing at times and trying to do everything himself rather than be effective.

Notts fans, fucking hilarious bunch honestly. Way they went off at FT you’d think they’d won, and now they’re all on here celebrating a famous draw down at our place (Jacobs comment on the draw being more enjoyable than a win…   ), bless em.

Listen lads, you’re just another bang average side that’s took an undeserved point home from our place, not the first (Joined our friends Salford, Cheltenham & Swindon in doing so) and definitely won’t be the last cos at the moment we love throwing away leads.

All the hype on this Crowley btw??? End product fucking hilarious, takes 30 touches every time he goes near it and then follows it up with either an over hit cross or a shot 30 yards over bar

Final thoughts, got to be some sort of record this one surely… same person MOTM for Notts 3 times in a row in a game between the same 2 sides? The man in the middle dressed in all black. FairPlay that man, outdone himself with that pen decision at the end
A bit of an overly giddy preview from ODL yesterday followed here by the inevitable crushing let down.

Thought a draw was a pretty fair result really after a cracking game. From our pov as always we play some lovely football in meaningless areas, we can’t defend or score from set pieces, we’re wholly reliant on 4(now 3) players for anything actually creative or threatening although Crowley was dogshit today and the last 3 games against anyone half decent indicate to me that Maynard won’t get us up while he’s got a hole in his arse. Rebound penalties in the 94th minute are a lot of fun.

Off the field highlight today was a £2.95 pint of Brampton mild from that pub near the ground. Yum yum. How tf does anyone do any work in Chesterfield?

I still think the run of games after the next 4 or so will define our season - we know how random league 2 results are but given how we have done so far the run of games is something like - Morecambe, Accy , Swindon , Harrogate , Newport , Colchester and Crewe with 5 at home or something ; if we are serious thats when we pick up some a major pointe haul if we don't i reckon we just fade into mid table - which lets face it we would have taken at season start

It's what I thought last week. He was coming so deep to try and start everything. If that's the manager's instructions, then that's poor. I'd just tell him to float around in behind the strikers. That's where, from my admittedly limited knowledge of him, he would be most effective.

Just goes to show you that knocking it back and forth means fuck all. Double the amount of passes, 2/3 possession, but look at the expected goals.

The sooner teams at this level realise that they're not managed by Pep , the more successful they're likely to be.

Didn’t think there was anything overly giddy about what I said pre game. I said we’d be up for it and come out the traps flying, and we scored within 5 minutes so that wasn’t wrong. Also said Notts possess plenty of quality and have many strengths of their own that could hurt us, which you did with the build up & cross for the Jatta goal.

The post you’ve quoted I maybe went a ‘little’ OTT mind :animatedf:, but it was raw and I’m sick of you lot getting late goals against us so it all came out…

Anyway, where’s this £2.95 a pint you’ve stumbled upon!!??? That ‘pub near the ground’ too vague, need more!

The Glassworks I think it’s called. Great beer, cheap, and got served quickly. Fantastic…

Nothing bad but he didn’t really stand out as a danger man to me, but obviously we have memories of the NL times when he was at the centre of anything in our games.

I thought Madden was obviously your most dangerous forward while he was on and was also impressed by that Markanday. He’s the one who stood out of the three behind the forward as the clear threat - Dobra was quiet and Berry really struggled to have any impact.
Agree re Madden & Markanday being the standouts. I thought Jatta looked dangerous for you.

Obvious scoring a penalty is always good but missing a penalty and instantly scoring the rebound is much better. But it's time to let someone else take them Dave.

The crowd reactions from both sets of fans are a thing of beauty.

Markanday and Jatta for me too.

I had a couple of pints of something for £2.50 at the Derby Tup. Was alright as well to be fair, local pale or something.

I think your absolutely right mate. There's no stand out team, it's incredibly competitive, no massive difference on goal averages. It all points to every team is capable of picking up points from each other. Ok you Carlisle/Cheltenham fans are struggling at the moment, for sure it will turn round. My pal at Fleetwood doesn't want promotion, he said it's far nicer in league 2 !
