Don't forget us (on the moral high-ground) versus Chesterfield (in their immoral bunker)
Unsure if applying for a loan and then signing Paddy Madden for 250k on stupid wages puts you in the goodietwoshoes clan

Barnet v Maidenhead on Tuesday called off due to international call ups.
I think I heard on coms yesterday someone is off to the Carribean to play. Surely the best international break ever? Off to Grenada for 2 weeks. Brilliant

Saw this on our forum. What the table looks like with Dover results gone. No idea if it’s right or not. It moves us up 2 spots

Looks about right, makes a huge difference to how things look for us, suddenly look extremely safe in the play-offs.

On a 3 1/2 year deal also...

Welcome to the dark side Stockport
He’s seen them coming with bags of cash a mile off. Saw on twitter someone reckoned he was on 3 bags a week, surely not

Did we apply for a loan? And I (and many other County fans) have reservations about the Madden money (if the ultimate burden falls on the club rather than the owners, I'd rather it have not happened; and if there's money available I'd much rather it went on paying up the contracts of our management team)

Spend it why you can in the hope you go up this season.Because next season you will have Hollywood financial competition.
Although I doubt we will be paying huge transfer fees for 31 + players

Do the owners have that kind of backing? 6 figure transfer fees at this level are fairly hefty and rare so it’s a big signal of intention that you want to get out the league this season. He will score bucket loads at this level you’d think.

A reliable source at our club told me that Stockport paid over 100k to take Williams from us as well. He could be wrong but other things he’s told me in the past regarding Danny Rowe and one or two others have turned out to be true. It’s serious money. It is Salford territory but surely they have nowhere near the backing of Salford. Nobody does. Good to luck to them though, as a club they are definitely too big for this level (as a few clubs are) and if you have somebody willing to put money in then why not

It's a high risk strategy they are effectively playing to go up through the lottery of the playoffs.
And they will need luck

I can't see you getting £100k for Williams - that was the fee we got for him from Rochdale and his career has stalled a bit since then.

It comes down to what the interested party are willing to pay - Fylde probably needed the cash less than we did at that time. They've spunked a similar fee on Rooney in the summer and massively upped his wages, so they're obviously willing to pay whatever it takes.

If they’ve signed Williams, Rooney and Madden for around 450k that is crazy money. What about Jennings, Maynard, hogan were they free? Serious players at this level

We were picked for the opening game of the season and haven't been on since, heaven only knows what game they are going to choose for us with our well documented furlough policy and with the threat of relegation seemingly lifted it's not like they could show a 'six pointer at the bottom' fixture.

With the exception of the end of season games they never seem to care if the game is an attractive fixture or not. They'll often show meaningless mid table games just to fulfil their contractual obligations.

We’ve only had one and that was against Dover so that don’t count, still have two to come then.

I know the game was arguably the worst live fixture ever broadcast on these shores so easy to forget, but you did beat us on BT Sport right at the start of the season.

It's behind a paywall, but the Non-League Paper are claiming that Dover are going to go down the legal route :ffs:

Can’t afford to fulfil their fixtures but may be able to afford to make a legal challenge. That makes sense.
