Good to see Orient in the Blue kit. Why ever they changed to Red I do not know. Things will get better.

A deserved one as well. Can see why you are such a tough proposition at home (and won't hardly pick up a point away). The whole emphasis of the side and style of play is perfectly pitched to shithouse poncey ex-League clubs doing dumb stuff like passing the ball and being weaklings on that crazy golf pitch.
Brilliant

Ah the first complaint about 3G and day one's not even over.

Stones one up, Joe Pigott.

As expected we're still a long way behind in terms of preperation, Sutton deserved winners and its easy to see why their home record was very good last season.

Our full backs were exposed defensively as I thought they might and Joe Widdowson had an awful first half.

We tried to pass our way out, but struggled to break Suttons wall down who worked so well to stifle us. I don't think either keeper was seriously tested at all to be honest the game itself was your classic National League game!

Will be interesting to see how we play at home on Tuesday now in front of our own fans.

I see the league haven't taken long to show their distaste for us.

Fair play to Dean Keates for masterminding a 0-0 draw from a 0-1 loss at HT.

Fair result, I think it sums up where we are this season - midtable finish.
Terrific opening goal for us, Hurst corner swung out to beyond the D where Rooney met it on the volley and guided it straight into the top corner.
Ebbsfleet look a decent outfit, pass and move very well and have a decent defense.

Down to 9 men, clean sheet, point away after a long trip - not a bad result considering. McNulty missing for Tuesday and Norwood for the next 3 isn't ideal, but we won the first 5 last year and didn't go up, so let's not start any meltdowns.

Reality check for us today, Harrison got it all wrong first half, Amond up front on his own with not a Pools shirt within 20 yards of him, Dover's goal looked offside to me but will have to see it again, out problem was a lack of any sort of physicality in the team, too many short arsed softies getting bullied off the ball.

Looked better second half with two upfront but we just didn't look like scoring, must do better starting Tuesday.

We played for 25 minutes in the first half and tore Barrow apart. Then we reverted to pre season mode and made it nervy late on for ourselves. Barrow will ultimately get better when 1-2 players come back but they looked poor today.

Cheek scored a belter and Ferrier looked very lively. With Whitely and Féjiri either side, it's certainly powerful going forward.

Well that went better than expected.

I really want to hate Macclesfield because they beat us EVERY TIME but I can't bring myself to do it, they are too likeable. Durrell crossing the ball like prime Beckham all game was most annoying. Enjoyed the game even though we lost, I thought Pilkington was colossal at the back, Whittaker rolling back his 50 years of age to produce a masterclass in the middle and the no.8 up front was a right nuisance. Jalal was clowning about as much as he possibly could but we still couldn't take advantage of it. We were doing fine until that ridiculous goal, people are saying it moved but it looked to me like Dunn fucked up a routine save.

Second half we put it on a bit but didn't test Jalal at all. Macc could have scored a few more and I couldn't tell if the offside goal was correct or not. We had a shout for a pen on Kelly but ref was generally fine throughout and he let Wedgbury get away with a fair bit.

Ah the first complaint about 3G and day one's not even over.

Not a complaint*. Sutton knew how to use it to their advantage; we were clueless.

*My only comment on the surface is that I can now fully appreciate why it is banned in the Football League.

Can't wait , completely fresh start for us. Coxall has gone, new team and manager, fans are buzzing. All the signs are good. Expect us to win some games for the first time in about 6 seasons, new grounds to visit. Might be non-league but buzzing to get started really.

I take all of that back

Widdowson will play like that every game he really isn't very good. Lost track of the amount of goals he cost us last two seasons.

Plenty of first days results today the league will soon even itself out after about 10-12 games.

We did what we needed today against Barrow who as per last season are very direct bit we dealt with it unlike last year. Given our start would have taken 6 from
9.

Did say a point before hand would be a good result, but disappointing to not score late on when they were down to 9.

Result of the day for me is part time Dovers 1-0 win up at Hartlepool with a team built from scratch. Not suprised Orient got beat at Sutton as its a tough tough place to go.
All in all it was a bad day at the office for the big boys in this league with Wrexham suprisingly getting beat at home by Macc and Tranmere losing their discipline at Plainmoor.
Wonder how long Andy Cook will stick around for if he's continued to be benched?

Crowd was above 5k so we don't show up, generally the unwritten rule.

Macc dominated possession first half, Durrell caused problems with his crosses and Whitaker still has it. Looked like Dunn should have saved it, dived very slowly (and did most of the match)

Second half we were better, although it can't have been much worse than the first. From my view it looked a stonewall pen for Kelly, about to shoot and is tripped from behind; would have to see again.

I would have to say Macc deserved the win. Marsh, Durrell, Pilkington and Whitaker all played well.

On to Maidenhead!

Sutton's is bouncier than ours, but it's still okay. Certainly better than late-season mud heaps.

You may not like it, but you get used to it. Especially when you see it all the time like we do.

Typical us not being able to finish off a team and then nearly losing the bloody game!! we should of scored 4 or 5 with all the chances we wasted
I said previously, I have no faith in DSY to be the same one we saw last season. Pigott will likely get to double figures but I doubt anyone else does on this team. Maybe Ter Horst when he's back?

147 Barrow at Daggers, apologies to their fans who had to put up with the moron school kids that we seem to have turn up at times, let's hope someone gives them a slap soon.
