That's not even the first time we've lost a shoot out after being 3-1 up. Did it against Carlisle in 2005. Absolutely shocking.

Good luck to Ebbsfleet against Tranmere. As for us, some major changes are needed in the Summer, starting with bringing in someone who can score.

Didn’t fancy Coventry and MK Dons anyway, Barrow and Gateshead are much better away days.
Absolutely gutted, properly bottled that.

Yep, but it gives me the idea that an organised team with a goalscorer could do well should they relegated.

I never said we were good.
Exactly, so what you really meant to say is it was when your shitty Grimsby side made the play offs that year, that the rot set in.:bdick:

Fuck off, scored goals for fucking fun that year. Beat your shower of shit home and away.:db:
I’m not surprised, that was the worst Grimsby team Garry Hill had ever seen that season.

Ok.

As tragic as it is, it might be a good game to watch. Both have quality forwards.

Dean Saunders on Talk Sport this morning and saying he's on BT Sport tonight for the Boreham/Fylde game. Alan Brazil reckoned Fylde were north of York (which I suppose is strictly true) and Saunders, Hull.

Ok.

Who the fuck would wanna watch these tinpot abominations of matches instead of watching proper stuff like Roma v Liverpool or Atletico v Arsenal?

Tranmere seem like the only side even half deserving of a place amongst the great 92. The standard is shocking. The worst L2 sides would piss all over anyone in the Conference.

In no sense of the word "north" can anyone claim that Kirkham or Wesham are north of York. :told:

The Fylde penninsula, not Borough, goes up almost as far as Lancaster and includes Fleetwood, doesn't it? Still not quite there.

Just seen last nights attendance, 3300 - 2800 home and 500 away.. reasonable support from Ebbsfleet considering the 7pm start but that’s awful from Aldershot.

Few words from our owner before the big game. Doesn’t so sound confident

Daniel: How do you feel the season went overall?
David:
“Really good considering it’s our first season at this level and the money being thrown around by other clubs.
“Until this season we have always had one of the top five budgets and therefore it would be reasonable to expect, if not demand, success.
“However, we are swimming in a different sea now and, therefore, getting to the play-offs on our budget can be considered a tremendous achievement. All credit for this should go to Dave Challinor and his backroom staff.”
Daniel: What are you thoughts on the Boreham Wood game?
David:
“I think their Chairman Danny Hunter has done a great job. I met him when we were there earlier in the season and he’s a really nice guy.
“He’s invested heavily and their playing budget is far larger than ours, so if I were him I would expect to be where they are.
“For this reason alone they are massive favourites for this game and I think they will be expecting to win, which the bookies obviously agree with. It’s going to be really difficult for us to progress, even with the great squad we have.

“However money doesn’t always guarantee success and I know that Chally will have the team well prepared. As we all know in football anything can happen on the night.
“The main thing is we are in with a chance and I know everyone involved with the club is loving every minute, as they should.”

That's a bit rich coming from a FGR fan whose team play in a town of 7.7K and for the majority of their time in the Conference treaded water (being lucky to escape relegation on several occasions). So one season in League 2 scraping survival means that FGR are now officially part of the lofty elite and can look down snootily on teams in a play-off race (that for the vast majority of their existence they were nowhere near a part of) in a division below?

Got to say, it looked to me like there was 4,000+. Shots fans made some cracking noise at times.

Our support was about where I expected it to be. Probably have a similar number (although I would hope for more) on Saturday.

When we went there last year they had 4,400 home.. was noticeably less full on TV. Little bit bizarre given they had a good gate vs Macc.

Ticket update! 2 away tickets sold for Saturday!

Most are probably paying on the day, but if any Fleet fans are reading it is £2 cheaper to buy in advance (print your own).

Gate is headed for 9 - 11k. Club missed a few tricks with marketing given how long they had to do so.

Can't see many bothering with the advance tickets to be honest. Three coaches booked up though, which isn't a bad effort less than 24hrs after the euphoria of last night.

I think we'll lose comfortably, but am genuinely devastated not to be going.

Not a massive fan of this new playoff system but it has one benefit - actually giving an advantage to the team finishing higher in the table.

Semi finals home and away always felt a bit unfair, especially when one team has finished 3 places higher and usually 5+ points ahead.

I’d have made it 2nd v 5th and 3rd v 4th but 1 leg at the higher placed team.

After the euphoria of last night, we've been brought back down to earth with the news that a fellow Fleet fan and good friend of mine was taken ill shortly after getting home. Suspected heart attack. Certainly puts things into perspective!

Fylde yet to turn up, can't blame them with their tiny budget I guess.
