I still think Dover can do, but they will just have to play a hell of a lot better, and desperately need to attack Clough on the floor, because for his qualities in the air, get him turned, attack him and he could well be their achiles heel

Yep I would definitely focus on attacking Clough if I were Dover, a real weak link.... :fl:

Our back 4 are TOP DRAWER and would walk into any team in this league..

"only one person at a time is authorised to convey tactical instructions from the technical area" is my quote from the rules, hence shouting at different times, well within the rules.

I agree time wasting is terrible, its actually conning the fans who loose significant time in the game- really if it were that bad last night then they should have been booked/ sent to the stand. I didnt see it as being that bad, but theres always 2 views to a story. See you for the second leg- cant wait. Its very close, If it goes to pens will Modeste get a second chance if he dives during his pen ;)

We often try to waste time only to lose the ball in the corner and get caught on the counter - I really can't stand it. Modeste's diving can be bad but I think he's made a rod for his own back now and he doesn't get a lot of decisions that probably are fouls because referees probably know his game.

Can't wait for Saturday - think we should be in for a much better game with us needing goals

Everyone used to like us when we were shit.
Not entirely true, when you were shit the only time I had heard of Forest Green was when you played Derby County in the FA Cup, before that I never knew you even existed and then I forgot about you again until we decided to join you in this league so saying everyone used to like you is incorrect.

With promotion to the football league at stake, 112 is just abysmal. Sorry but you don't get much bigger games than this in non league.

We took 700 to The Gas in last years play offs, and nearly 900 to Cheltenham this season.

Haha, what?! You don't even have the best defensive record in the league, not even close, which makes this a very odd boast to make.

How are you Mariners feeling ahead of tonight? I can only see the game going one way, Grimsby winning by 2/3. I think their experience will show, and let's be fair, they have a quality squad.

Braintree would happily take a draw back to their quite honestly awful ground. Grimsby need to get it done tonight imo

You won't find a better pairing then Racine and Clough, 2 absolute beasts. And Dale Bennett is easily the best right back in this league.

Bear in mind that a lot of our players haven't been able to show their real class under Pennock, now he's gone it's a different story.

Eh? Third in the table after Cheltenham and Braintree? Even 2 less than Tranmere, who would be in the play offs for goals conceeded, but rather short elsewhere despite the parachute payment that we cant mention:fish: :bg:

Cant see Grimsby getting more than one goal, Hurst will see Braintrees defensive record and do something bizarre to his line up.

Like Braintree more but in some ways would rather play Grimsby at Wembley. Pretty certain we could take them now AP's gone.

Bartlett v Hurst = no contest.

Not ours they wouldn't, we arent that great in the left back department so maybe there, but right back and centre backs not a prayer, we have Shaun Pearson sat on our bench who is better than both your CB's, but please don't let that stop you believing yourself.

Look guys who wins tonights game really doesn't matter, all that matters is how many people are stood in the technical area at the same time, sod the football!

Thank God you dont still have Scott as the jobshare, however would they sort out whos the one in the technical area ....

Yes it was certainly a pretty bruising encounter at TNL, pretty even in the CB/ back department I thought, and had KMB shown the interest he did last night then Monkhouse wouldnt have had the chance for the lovely cross.

Personally would love a GTFC FGR final, far more than Braintree.

Third in the table, yes, but you've conceded nearly 50% more goals than Cheltenham. That makes you 'nowhere near' the best in the league (defence wise) in my eyes.

I once convinced a Gillingham fan I work with to go to a Tranmere game (Morecambe away). We've had a somewhat icy relationship ever since. Be careful.
This one has been wanting to go to a Grimsby away game for months as he's heard about the atmosphere at them, he wanted to come to Halifax with us but we already had a car full and as I havn't been to an away since then I told him the atmosphere tonight should be top drawer so he's off, poor guy!

Hope he enjoys it, I'll be watching on TV. I didn't get to the game this season at your place... last time I went in the late 90s, kids got in free for the night which led to a... erm... 'high pitched' atmosphere. I think you won 1-0 in a rather dire game, it was a long Tuesday night drive home!

why are the playoff games earlier kick offs?

I'd like Grimsby to win the playoffs but i've got a gut feeling Braintree will win them.

As Paul Haddock said a few pages ago, I'm pretty certain it's a rule that you can't screen games at the same time as European games.

Best guess is so that they're not clashing with the European kick off times, Man Citeh were on last night and Liverpool are in their semi this evening.

Makes sense for BT with the kickoff times. Even if there isn't a rule, if the playoff games started and ended at the same time as the European games they wouldn't get any viewers on the playoff games.

Mr. Hurst don't fuck it up tonight please. That means no strange team selection or tactics, just let the boys do the job and you'l be fine

Good team selection from both gaffers. Expecting Payne to be sat deep for Braintree, just breaking up play. Key battle on the wings, akinola has got great pace and could cause huge issues for Grimsby
