Speaking of Boreham Wood. What's the keeper situation like for them? Last time I heard, Ashmore was suspended for the game against us and the league wouldn't let them sign Jalal from Chesterfield. Only other keeper they could possibly have is Grant Smith who they had on loan from Lincoln but he's now a free agent so he might not want to play in case of injury etc

They signed Ashmore on loan from Ebbsfleet with David Gregory going on loan the other way.

I would assume the latter is now available, though he was subbed with a bad injury when Ebbsfleet played us at York Road in February and hasn't played a game since.

Their chairman will probably go in net.

Stockport County.
These play offs sound a bit of a farce to be honest.

Delighted we refused to take part.

Brackley going for it...
Still only know of 10 players who've we've resigned.

Could be a very very thin squad for playoff games - if you know you were / were going to be released, being reengaged now for the playoffs only wouldn't exactly be motivating.

Sounds like a lot of costs involved - pay the squad for 5 weeks or so, with no income generated as the club is still closed - hope it doesn't cost us in terms of next year's budget.

Some squad bits from us too - Damien McCrory and Regan Booty have both been ruled out of it with injury. The latter is a good player but been out since last year so not too worrying, but McCrory is very solid so that’s a blow.

We’ve managed to extend Joel Bagan’s loan to cover - had only played a couple of games before the season ended but looked an exciting, attacking full back if not as solid as McCrory. Scott Wilson has also signed a short term deal after being released by Oldham, will be a useful sub option most likely.

Playing Dorking on Saturday, and assume we’ll try and arrange one for the weekend after too.

I have already touched wood as a precaution but...
What if a team, say the winner of Yeovil and Barnet then find Corona virus in the squad and have to quarantine. That would mean the Semi-final postponed and also the final!

Has anyone seen a contingency plan anywhere?

Wonder if Notts County fans know they'll be playing in the Tunnocks Teacake Trophy if they don't win the play-offs.

I think the teams playing in the eliminator games have a huge advantage over those in the Semis. Will be a huge factor having proper match practice ahead of the game. No disrespect to Dorking meant because a friendly is very different to a competitive game

So it still feels like a long time away but the first of the NL playoffs takes place next Friday!!

Boreham Wood v Halifax
Wood have already beaten Halifax this season away 2-0, the home fixture was one of the cancelled games. Wood also edge the ties 3-2 on the head-2-heads, there have also been 2 draws.

The home side had the better form going into lockdown but only just, picking up an extra 2 points over the last 6.
One silver lining for Halifax is that Wood have failed win in 4 of their last 5 home games. BUT there is a twist to that stat, they havent lost in 9 games at home!
Halifax have one win from their last 7 away games, that, a 1-0 win at bottom club Chorley.
It looks like a close game and form might not come into it due to the 3 month break.

IMO Boreham Wood to edge it 2-1, if it goes to penalties I can see Halifax winning.
Good luck both of you!

Halifax are awful. How the hell have they made the playoffs? Wood will win and BT2F will be crying into his coco pops. Fantastic

We beat the mighty Fylde 4-1 and stayed in the top 7 pretty much all season. Can't be that bad. Funny how the favourites to win the league have gone down and the favourites to get relegated have a chance of promotion. Based on your recent posts you sound like the one crying about unfair relegation despite the fact you've been down near the bottom all season.

Don't get why you bite to BT2F. He's clearly a wind-up merchant anyway.

Given the lack of match practice and how the teams play Harrogate with their hoofy to Beck type style could play right nto their hands, other types of football take a little time to get going. BW and Yeovil are also worth a punt, all the rest are a bit meh.

I’ll go for BW at home to Bolton in league two next season in front of 1500 with 1000 away fans, FFS.

Beat Weymouth 1-0 in a friendly yesterday as well, that’s us done for friendlies, we’re quite lucky 2 local teams are also involved in play offs. A free week now before Barnet.

I won’t lie, I think Borehamwood’s nickname being ‘The Wood’ is as funny as fuck.

Notts got Thumped 3-1 at home by Dorking today - not sure of the Notts team - but that's the worst Home defeat since little old Barrow stuffed them 3-0 in November...

We swapped our team at half time and Cox our assistant said it was a good workout and that Dorking are a couple of weeks ahead of us.
Not great though is it. Hopefully it will shake them up.
