Basingstoke will go full time next season even though they've been relegated :eye:

is it something to do with Terry Brown, joined the Margate millions before all thats gone tits up now Basingstoke go full time, with Brown saying they'll recruit all the best young players released from football league clubs in the south. Terry they might not want to play in the Isthmian Prem in front of a couple hundred souls in the middle of Hamsphire.
Where is the money coming from for this venture?

With Whitehawk beating Bath this evening it makes a very interesting match for Baths visit to us on Saturday, all to play for although I reckon Bath are safe. However, we beat them on Saturday and it could all change

Whitehawk look good for Play-Offs now aswell imo what a topsy-turvy season for them.

Reading between the lines, and talking to a few who work at the club, the full time thing is just an extension of the academy, where most of the players are going to come from. It sounds like they are going to pick up kids who have been released from other clubs, not older, established pros, give them a chance and hopefully sell them on to fund the team. It's an interesting concept at that level, and will probably only cost the same as a part time team a level above. If anyone can make it work, Terry can, but as we all know, you can't win anything with kids.

So much for Whitehawks ''football for everyone'' they love spouting off....they aint allowing Maidstone fans into the bar after the game

Im already predicting their ultra idiots will be on a twitter crusade after the game. Proclaiming we're all a bunch of racists thugs, homophobes, sexist pigs etc etc....seems to be the usual thing with that lot whenever a team bring a few away fans

Cant stand them!! Sooner the shitty tinpot club pisses off back to the county leagues the better

The best thing about Whitehawk supporters are those who are 'Against Modern Football' whilst supporting a club who are the very ethos of modern football.

Couldn't make it up.

No game for us tomorrow. So I'm off to Borac Čačak v Crvena Zvezda and, hopefully, the Sarajevo derby on Sunday.

Congratulations Sutton on your title win.

Still need to avoid defeat tomorrow to be sure mate. It isn't over yet............

BTW the Sutton Guardian tweet above is a thing of beauty. I think I celebrated that news with as much vigor as any of our recent results. Massive weight lifted off our shoulders. Just need to do the business tomorrow (yes, I know we've got two games left, but tomorrow is at home, we've got the end of season awards do after and more importantly I'll be there)

Get out of it mate. You've won the league.
Enjoy it. Enjoy Barrow!

It's not over until it's official. That's my mantra. I've seen enough as a Sutton fan to expect the worse on a constant basis

I'm the same for us. You cannot lose this now. Not only do you have to lose two games, we have to win ours and probably about 7-0.

It's yours bud. Just enjoy it.

I recall it! Richie Barker (was it him? I'm not sure) hattrick.

My worst memory of Barrow is the Gavin Heeroo sending off. It was cold. It was wet. And that prick decided to get sent off after picking up a yellow two minutes before!

Surprisingly I quite enjoyed the 1-1 on the Wednesday night. 21:00 kick off and we sung for 90+ minutes! That was cold.

It's always cold up here - that's why southern teams don't like it ;)
Richie Baker hat trick and Nick Chadwick with the other I think - Nick Chadwick was awful that season

Nervous for tomorrow's game it's a must win... We will be Relegated if St.Albans beat Wealdstone and Margate beat Hemel and we lose to Bath.

Have a nasty gut feeling that we may be bidding farewell to the The Conference (National) South tomorrow, especially with my record for watching us (10 games I've watched this season 1 win, 2 draws, 7 loses..that win remarkably coming against Maidstone!):conf:

That's true that--theyre well out of form.

We have Havant to worry about aswell as they have a game in hand.

3 points today may give me a great deal of belief that we will avoid the drop, depending on other results, of course.

Begrudging congratulations to Sutton. Hopefully your stay in the Conference proper will be longer then last time.

Wealdstone 1-1 St Albans City (Att: 777)

A fair result with Saints well on top for the first half hour. However we equalised with the excellent Scott Davies putting in a pearler of a free kick which was put in by a Saints defender.

We're now officially safe and can enjoy Truro knowing no matter what happens on the pitch we'll be playing Conference South football next season.

-------------------------------

Edit: Congrats to JaredSUFC and everyone at Sutton United for winning the league. Enjoy the National.
