Bye bye everyone in the National South...see ya when we see ya:bye:

The 3-0 loss to Bath all but confirmed relegation for us as Margate won and St Albans drew.
We were ok in the 1st half, but you could see our players lacking any confidence as they barely attacked and Bath dominated proceedings. The 2nd half well..it was the same, but Bath made us pay for that, with 2 penalties in quick succession, the first one Darren Purse made a dreadful back pass to our keeper who was left no option but to make a tackle. They scored from that..2nd penno I didn't actually see what happened, but they scored that one aswell. Then there striker tried to get a 3rd penno but luckily that never happened...they did get the 3rd goal tho soon after that.

Maybe Bath couldve won by more as they were good on the attack.

We simply had no spirit anywhere on the pitch, the day we needed it most.

And finally, our player of the year is deservedly Elliott Benyon with his 15 goals this season. He won the vote by a hell of a margin...97% voted for him to be precise. Hoping we keep hold of him for next season, but he may well move on and rightly so he deserves to at least stay Conference South level.

CHAMPIONS!!!

In the end it was a routine victory that secured the title. The match was never in doubt once Dan Fitchitt headed home a Ross Stearn cross. Stearn doubled the lead before half-time. The second half was a non-event once a Craig Eastmond goal was ruled offside. The title is ours. It's been an interesting season, but the best squad we've had for a long time saw us over the line. A new and exciting challenge awaits.

Thanks for the kind remarks

Is that the same Darren Purse that used to play for Brum?
If so isn't he about 65 now lol?

Well done Sutton. Look forward to visiting next season because we usually beat you. It will be interesting to see how much of a stir your 3G pitch causes in this league. Make sure Jared, and others, that you now post in the main match thread!

Indeed it is, he also played for Birmingham, Cardiff and Sheff Wed..to name a few. He made over 500 football league appearances. He's 39 now and I'm sure a 65 year old can play better. He's been shambles the last few weeks.

In our last Conference National season we beat you at Kingfield and drew at GGL #justsaying

We had him on dual registration with Staines last season, not sure if he's dual registered with us this year. Was good cover to have but with him and Liam Dolman (think Steve McNulty) in the same team it was the slowest CB pairing I've ever seen. Did all that was asked of him to be fair. Coaches our U18's, who seem to be doing reasonably well.

I was thinking when we PULVERISED you 5-0 at your place on the opening day in our CHAMPIONSHIP WINNING season a few years ago

Garry Haylock has departed us after yesterday's result/ relegation

Such a shame, with abit of time he could've brought good days back to the club as we all know he's the one who worked wonders for us in our promotion season. Two days in a row have been sad,sad ones in our history:sad:

Our fans haven't helped in this instance neither, they've pushed Garry out the door and not kept faith.

Without being stubborn or arrogant fans like myself (not them knobheads who have done this damage) would like to thank Garry for his work and wish him the best of luck in the future.

not far in miles, probably takes an age to actually drive it as the crow flies though! Sutton is near Croydon, just about in Greater London, it's Surrey really. Not far off Junction 8 of the M25.

Sutton is the other side of Croydon from Bromley. And it can take a while to drive between the two places, but then driving anywhere in Greater London can take ages.

So one season equates to Woking usually beating us? #wokinglogic

I remember watching Sutton beating Woking 6-0 in a SSC semi-final

If it wasn't us, I would prefer it to have been Sutton so congratulations again!

Praying Truro pick up the point they need to secure fourth. Really, really don't want to be going there on a Wednesday night.

Also praying Whitehawk lose on Saturday. Will be Dover Esque. Manage to stumble their way into the play offs and then win the bloody thing.

Hemel please and, should we get there, Truro in the final.

Good news, we don't have to go to Truro next Wednesday.

Bad news, it could be Whitehawk instead.

Can't have it all the time I guess!

I'll be up bright and early tomorrow to head down to Cornwall. Looks like there will be around 150-200 of us down there which will be a phenomenal following.

I went down to Truro's ground in January when I was down in Torquay for our game which was originally postponed. Went on the Friday and met the groundsman and club secretary, who were at the ground working (neither of them were Cornish). It rained all day that day and the ground had little cover, but I was given a tour and shown the artist's impression of the new ground which is just a bit further down the same road. Because of that friendliness I wish them well. I was also told that the owner, who is not a football man, puts £25K a month into their playing budget. Most of the players come from the Bristol area, which is still a fair old journey, further than Chester to London I would guess.

Bloody hell, I'm glad I already did Truro - no way I can swing that trip midweek. We doubled them up in the season, but they didn't look half bad. Will be a tough tie.
