The usual names linked to jobs like this are Dave Jones and Gary Megson, and the reaction to that is a massive no, but at least with them two, while they might be awful appointments, there is logic behind it. But with Saunders there's no logic at all, he's been relegated 3 years in a row. It has to be the cheap option.

2. Saunders doesn't come across as the short corners kind of guy.
3. He's Welsh, so the potential for abuse when it all goes tits up is limitless.

For the record, I don't think we'll go down, but it won't be pretty. It's not the Blackpool meltdown that people are making it out to be. It's just gutting in comparison to the season we've just had, that's all.

I think he'll have us low midtable, playing meh 'hard to beat' football. Even if we lose a couple of stars, it's still a 1.6ish budget, which will be more than some. And we're pretty central as a location for players considering us. He won't have 'throw money at it and see if it works' Portsmouth budget, but he'll not be running on scraps.
