I look at that offer as a very shrewd investment, a positive way to grow support for the future. The cynical will suggest that it is a great big marketing ploy by Ecotricity and, somewhat surprisingly, I am tempted to agree with them. Far better to have hundreds of kids running round the local area wearing their advertising, on our shirts, than spending probably a similar amount on an advertising hoarding that many might drive past without noticing. Our shirts, if nothing else, certainly catch the eye.

To be fair not even me, as a Chester fan, will knock them. You weren't kicking off at 12.15pm, you weren't on TV and you weren't struggling in the bottom half of the league as the second lowest scorers in the league, with just the village off the Humber Bridge who play on an allotment languishing behind you.

Don't get me wrong I'm enjoying their struggles, but that ain't something I'll knock.

There were Aldershot supporters behind me going through 'turnstile 4'. Some of our supporters went to the actual away turnstile only to find it locked, so they missed the start of the game and were let in for free. There were at least 70 of us.
