673 Torquay at Notts County.

Excellent numbers that. We’ve been pretty lucky so far, pretty much everyone has travelled in decent numbers to Meadow Lane, especially the ex-FL teams. Not really been any different to L2, in fact I’d say the visiting support average is probably higher than this time last season. Ours would always get skewed by Mansfield and (latterly) Lincoln bringing 4k+

Fanned out at one end but imagine 60 or 70 unwilling to join in with songs Boston at Darlington
I'm also travelling back with one less flag than I came up with
Bad day all round

Bet that's more than they ever took in FL days
To be fair Notts is everyones cup final so expect solid away followings from clubs this year

Very blustery all round the ground today, caught in the wind the flag could be in the field behind the fencing? I did notice about three flag's at one stage.

No couldn't see one through the gaps in the fence
In fairness we see a few kids in 2nd half appearing from outside the ground reaching over, maybe to try and get others. It could be anywhere to be honest, probably not in one piece too

Well that's pretty ordinary, where's those teeming masses of monkey hangers you lead us to believe followed their team slavishly everywhere? Not got the stomach for the National League. huh? :ds:

Nobody gives a toss about Notts. It's not like they're Sunderland, or even one of the Sheffield clubs. :ds:

I went to St Albans City v Eastbourne Borough randomly yesterday - and I would guess there were 25-30 Eastbourne fans.

Eh? Try that statement again but this time done pick a monster club like Sunderland or large clubs like Wednesday and to a slightly smaller extent Sheff Utd.

Then it will make sense and have more impact

No doubt a night out and making a weekend of it in Nottingham played a contributory role in such impressive away numbers at the Lane. Great attendance once again

Oof....we’re not Sunderland. Compliments don’t get much bigger than that.

To be honest, Bristol Rovers caused more of a stir here.........

That's much better, much more realistic comparison.

Brizzle Rovers and Port Vale are the two clubs I most associate with the Stylish Magpies when talking size of clubs.

Well done you.

What about Halifax? Traditionally who are you most similar to in terms of historic attendances and league position? You'll have to educate me as you've been off my radar for almost 20 years

I haven’t got a clue what you mean about “caused a stir”, but if virtually every club took their biggest away following to Rovers like they have to Notts this season than it might mean something.

I’m not into willy waving but while we’re a similar size to the likes of Rovers or Port Vale, I would suggest our history pisses on theirs.

It does, only a fool would argue otherwise.

I meant size of club, average attendance etc. Those two , along with being the clear second side in a good sized city, are the ones I most relate with Notts.

I still love the fact Sunderland and Wednesday were quoted lol

Our Tin Potter friend suggested Notts were a big deal. I demurred and proposed alternatives, who would be a big deal. I'm struggling to understand why you deem it flattering NOT to be considered a similar club. It's neither flattering nor unflattering. If it helps put it in perspective, I don't think we are either. :ds:
