Charlton have been the better side since, not creating much but they'll be happy to be level. Sunderland are going to have to rely on a set piece here, bit attritional aren't they.

Bar that absolute howler from the keeper Charlton have been the better team for me, Taylor is beginning to cause a lot of problems for Sunderland whilst Sunderland arent looking the most creative side to me. Just before the goal they were beginning to look like they were just happy to take 1-0 and not offering much.

I've seen Krystian Bielik a couple of times now and I've been impressed.

See he's on loan from Arsenal. Could improve our side if Charlton don't get promoted (or do?) next season.

I’m going to go for the same result as 1998 but without 6 of the 8 goals this time.

Might well be right - neither team created much this half .

EDIT: Or maybe not !

Scrappy but Charlton won't care ..

Wow that is some way to win it.

2 out of 2 last last minute winners.

Congratulations Charlton - the best three teams get promoted.

Dillon Phillips is a very lucky boy.

Fitting that Sunderland's season is ultimately undone by trying to sit on a 1-0 lead.

Congratulations Charlton, the best 3 teams getting promoted this season which is good to see.

But do feel for Sunderland and their fans there that’s a sickener.

Questions for Ross in my opinion, just sat on 1-0 and came back to bite them, should be doing more with what he as I think, attacking wise they offer next to nothing.

Deserved for Charlton, and that is a very nice away day for next season. Better side on the day and finishing 3rd over the season, Sunderland will be gutted must be one of the most painful clubs to support in England.

Congrats Charlton, fully deserved in both this game and the season overall.

Sympathies for the Sunderland fans on here who are sound and genuine from
everything I’ve seen, and for the many others that I’m sure are the same, but none to the scores I’ve seen on either ReadyToGo or Twitter who’ve acted as if they were too big for this league since before a ball was kicked and ever since. No club’s too big for this league and the ones below.

Next season is gonna be fun..

Congratulations Charlton! A good side who peaked at the right time. Think they will do well next season. Have a decent manager who has a good philosophy and believes in giving his youth players a chance to make the grade.
As for Sunderland. Probably the best thing that can happen to them. Perhaps now they will understand you need to respect the league you are in and lower your expectations. Time for them to work on uniting the club. A club which is unified from the board to the players and supporters will always succeed. Sunderland have been far from that for a good few years now.

Congrats Charlton, and commiserations to Sunderland (although quietly I am glad you've stayed down just so we get to play you next season).

Almost exactly eighteen months ago I saw us lose to a last minute goal at Gateshead in front of 1,140 supporters (one of their bigger crowds of the season), which left us in fifteenth position in the National League.

Next season we will play in front of 30,000 plus at the Stadium of Light.

Quite a journey.

Just me who thought that was Sarr's fault, rather than the goalkeeper's? Not that it matters now, but still...

Was a bit of both - the pass was dangerous and committed the cardinal sin of being 'on target', but there was no real venom in it and the keeper should have been all over it. I'm still not sure what he was thinking, as there was no bobble or anything from what I could see.

They both take blame for it. The most crazy own goal i've seen live that's for sure.

Sarr didn't even look where he was passing it other than the general direction of the goal and made it worse by overhitting his pass. It's no wonder the keeper was caught out.

Well they do say never pass it in front of the goal..

Least it didn't matter in the end!

To be honest, with Ipswich and Bolton coming down and being in a mess, suspect Pompey Sunderland and Rotherham will be fighting it out for the top two. Should be the three outstanding sides imo

Big problem for Blunderland financially now - their parachute payments are going to more than half next year.

They will actually piss this tinpot league, not even joking. If Luton could do it anyone can.

Congratulations to Charlton and all the best to Lyle Taylor. He got his chance to shine with us and he moved on to the next level.

Hopefully you'll ditch your useless owner.

Loved that twitter pic of a Sunderland ‘lass’ dumping in a fountain in Trafalgar Square. Classy.
