Pitch invasions for not even winning the PO’s but just getting through your semi final is always cringe.

Safety reasons what an absolute load of shite, pitch invasion is a bit tinpot hope they lose to Sunderland now.

If it was after 90 I'd agree, but after the madness that came before I get it a little more, that's a hell of a stress release..

Can't believe the difference in quality between this league and championship. Not any of the big teams impressed me in the playoffs and gives me great confidence we'll go straight back up again.

Safety Reasons... Objects thrown and pitch invaded from that end. Shambles.

Well in Charlton. Stuck a decent amount on them to win the shootout after seeing they were being taken up that end.

90 mins away from that promised half a pint next season Bobbin' :D

Apologies to Charlton supporters for almost putting the kibosh on things. Last night whilst on the retail coalface - deep in Dulwich Hamlet/Millwall territory - I served a customer wearing a Charlton shirt. After a brief discussion about Lyle Taylor, I wished him luck in the final, forgetting that the second leg of the semi still had to be played. D'oh!

Well done Donny for putting up a fight.

Christ, I picked and bet on Villa, Charlton and Newport in the play-offs to go up. All three on penalties. Was nervy watching that!

I actually think the higher placed team should get to choose re penalties but to do on ‘safety reasons’ is a absolute disgrace.

Games gone and not just at PL level.

Yep, we’re the first team to ever do it.

Great advert for League 1 Football from both teams , thought Charlton better team 1st leg & Donny 2nd & feel Charlton deserve promotion after their steady rise throughout the season.

Shame the penalties weren't taken at the end where both sets of supporters were situated & quite ironic that Marquis misses who I think ( don't quote me ) is a Millwall boy.

This isn’t a new thing. When we beat Brighton on penalties in the JPT SF in 2009 the pens had to be taken at the Kenilworth Road end rather than the Oak Road end (this is before the stand was split), for safety reasons. Equally confusing too.

Does it make that much difference though?

Who knows?

Nottinghamshire police have the biggest hard on for show of force at Mansfield games as you probably remember but we were allowed a coin toss in our play-off semi against Newport.

Right, soberish now and trying to digest what happened last night, I went through every emotion possible I think.

I have to say though, we were extremely fortunate on the night. The quick equaliser rattled us and we never got going again after that. We were played off the park in all honesty, brilliant from Doncaster. I even said to my mate at one point “fuck me, this lot are going to destroy Sunderland”.

Lot of respect for Doncaster after that.

I know we’re capable of far more than that and hopefully with the pressure shared at Wembley (maybe a little more actually on Sunderland) we will see it.

Repeat of 1998 then, was written in the stars really, wasn’t it? Hold on to your hats.

If Doncaster had got through to the final, I don't think you could argue that it was deserved over a season, considering how far away they were from the top 5, but that's the play offs I suppose.

Going to be a tense final. Both teams will be a real threat next season whoever gets into the Championship.

Exactly this.

I don’t normally like pitch invasions but that was through pure emotion and relief.

That's rich, you had a bloke with a knome and grown men with rattles there last night, I've seen more scenes at a friendly than your 2nd goal last night although I'm sure sky always seem to find the strangest fans for their pictures. You were extremely unlucky to go out though, your 1st 3 penalties were absolutely immense too.

I meant the hundreds who waited outside to laugh us off, imagine going through in that amazing way and then decide to spend your time harassing police and laughing at the fans who’s club very nearly crushed your dreams

Genuinely odd

A Blades fan talking about other teams support, you lot only turn up when you are winning and are probably the quietest fans that have ever been at Donny.

On to last night, absolutely proud of my team to do what they did up to the pens was immense. I would also like to say well done Lee Bowyer for going to our dressing room and telling the lads how good they were, he didn’t have to and could have being doing a Lampard. Good luck to Charlton

I remember the time they brought 800 in the Championship. Don't mind the Blades though to be fair. Their fans don't suffer from the same delusions of grandeur like Wednesday.
