I can see this being 4-0 to Cambridge before half time

I’ve massively misjudged us thinking we can get mid table. This defence looks as bad if not worse than anything we saw last season, but the midfield is really not helping, so weak. Releasing Mike Jones is maybe looking like a mistake now.

Alfie May becomes the first Cheltenham number 10 to score a goal since Dan Holman in 2017!!!

Morecambe have looked good in spells - certainly no rubbish from them.

Joel Randall. The next Ollie Watkins.

2 goals from 2 different academy graduates. Looking good and a perfect away performance if you started the clock after the first minute.

Yeah I mean perhaps we also did go a bit too attacking with only two midfielders behind effectively a front 4.

1-0 Vale with Cullen the scorer. That goal is all about Rodney though, great run from him and ball across.

Deserved lead overall I’d say.

We've been on top against Grimsby but without much end product. Their number 20 looks handy.

Only positives I can take from this first half is it’s only 2 as it could have been more with our defensive disasters. And our attackers looks quite threatening, all be it a bit rusty due to lack of games.

Should be out of sight in this game. Still, it's great to see the youngsters playing so well

Good half from Mansfield, we have pressed and controlled most of it, the only thing we didn’t do was score.

Bowery fumbled a golden chance, and we were a bit unlucky in the first ten with the ball hitting underside of the bar and being cleared off the line, Tranmere are yet to test our pre-season shaky defence, they need to put us under some pressure.

I'm listening to the Cambridge commentary now. Makes us sound a lot better, almost worth more than the score suggests.

Mcdonald however, have you seen a single one of his passes find a Carlisle man? Just the one I spotted so far, back to the keeper.

Decent performance, well deserved a could of had a couple.

Referee isn’t giving us much, a clear elbow in the face on Smith completely missed! Should of been a penalty and possibly a red. Rodney is raw as but is causing them all sorts of problems, he literally ran through them for the goal.

Dominant first half from Vale, by far the better team. Their weakness appears to be the fullback areas and our strength is on the wings so unsurprisingly Vale have exploited them out there.

Rodney, Conlon and Worrall have been excellent. In Rodneys case he won’t always make the right decision but when he gets his head down and runs straight at the defender he will always cause problems.

You could argue it’s 1 midfielder and a centre back playing behind a front 4. Alessandra is doing fuck all, needs hooked.

Need to put Hunt in next week. He played the last 2 games of last season, surely can’t be any worse than McDonald.

Even game so far, Bolton had a couple of decent chances but reckon 0-0 is fair.

Even game for us against Walsall, Owura Edwards on loan from Bristol City looks a real find.

Expected better from Bolton tbh. We're pretty comfortable. Matt should have made it 2, bit of a sitter.

The warning signs were there for us in our pre season results. I chose to ignore it because it was mostly against higher level opposition.

Over the years I’ve seen some shite that has narrowly avoided relegation. Early days but this looks as bad if not worse than some of those teams.

Heard it all before, I suppose you’ll get it right eventually!
