Jevani Brown looked like a hell of a signing for you a couple of years ago. What happened?
Can’t believe we got six figures for him. Terrible attitude and the whole place was delighted when we got rid. 250k apparently!

We were linked with hallam hope last season so may go for him. I've got a feeling we will get Lee angol as a striker in. He doesn't have a great scoring record but he is 26 years old and is coming into those peak years where you may get a mullin 30 goals a season out of him if not you would still get his normal 5 to 10 goals which is better than what we usually get. He was at Mansfield about 3 years ago so may have been there when flitcroft was.

Regarding a keeper I dont know if he is out of contract but I'd like us to sign Ben garrett who would be an excellent keeper in this league or league one if we were to get promoted in the next couple of seasons.

Port Vale do seem to sign a lot of our ex players, so Hallam Hope to Port Vale wouldn’t be a huge surprise.

I don’t want him back here. That should tell you a lot.

Randell Williams has confirmed he has left. Shame really but on the last 6 months I would be surprised if anyone at the top of league one or Championship will sign him. And if he had signed for Hull in January we would have got a fee....nevermind

I expected us to keep a lot of the squad but probably not this many. Toure and Anderton being surprises in my opinion. Expect Bennett will reject his deal.

I hope it leaves room for strengthening as we still do need a few quality players in certain positions.
Beech certainly wasn't exaggerating (much) when he said about wanting to keep 99% of the squad together. I get the impression he's a sentimental sort who doesn't really like releasing players. Hope it doesn't become his downfall.

Been a bit of a mess for all concerned. He should learn now the best way to get where you want to be is just focus on doing your best for your current team.

Never really known us to have such a big clear out, but it was needed. It's just a shame it couldn't have happened last summer when so many were still tied down.

We've released: Josh Bohui, Jevani Brown, Callum Coulter, Paris Cowan-Hall, Luke Gambin, Callum Harriott, Tom Lapslie, Harry Pell, Courtney Senior, Omar Sowunmi, Diaz Wright

The only real shame there is Tom Lapslie, who was always a solid 7/10. He's had injury problems this season though so barely featured. Courtney Senior is disappointing too on the basis that he's always looked to have the potential to play much higher but he has been woeful for the past year or so, so no surprise that his time is up.
Pell's been picked up by Accy on a three-year deal and he probably suits them down to the ground.

As I said above, fair play to his agent for getting him a three-year deal in League One. When he first signed three years ago he was excellent and exactly the type of player we'd been missing, but he's had a couple of lengthy injuries since then and has never been the same. He's an average League Two midfielder who doesn't seem overly mobile and I'm not convinced would make the starting eleven for us anymore.

Good, infectious character to have about and the master of being a shithouse but I would never have had him moving up a level.

The Harry Pell move has got me stumped? What is he going to do in league one apart from miss time tackles and shout at people??

Rhys Bennett has said Carlisle United’s contract offer is offensive.

Think we can safely cross his name off our possibilities for next season.

Tom Clarke was the fella from PNE wasn’t he? Surprised at that.

Dan Jones looked very good against us for Harrogate would take him.

If it stops Leon Legge taking the worlds most ineffective long throw then Jones would be worth signing whatever role we could find for him,

In fairness loads of teams are using the long throw this season but only Tozer is actually effective! Something like one was scored from that wasn’t his wasn’t it?

Dan Jones would be a great pick up for any L2 team. Looked good both times Bolton played Harrogate. I assume they’ll try and sign him permanently but I reckon he could start regularly for a promotion chasing team.

We've had Dan Jones in two separate spells. Not great at left-back as he's not very pacey, but was a lot better at centre back and surprisingly good in the air.
Came back on loan in our promotion season (left side of a back three) and seemed well out of sorts.

I wouldn't have put him any higher than a top half National League player though, and his insistence on long diagonal passes becomes frustrating. Can't really remember any of his long throws really causing the opposition too much bother either.

Last summer you saw Salford signing the likes of Clarke, Towell and Wilson and thought fucking hell they're going to be hard to stop. End of season most of their marquee signings all get released. Funny old game.

I think they’ll be going all out this summer. Neville won’t want another season beyond this one in league 2. He’ll be fuming. Watching the class of 92 stuff there are some pretty obvious things they need to fix behind the scenes though. Training facilities being a huge one. That’s a massive disadvantage. I really wouldn’t be surprised to see Mullin there next season as highest paid player in the league.

They said they were going all out last summer when they closed down their academy, just wanted to focus all their resources on promotion they said.

Yeah but there was a salary cap in place last summer. There isn’t this summer...

Indeed. He’s looked so uninterested this season despite having the odd good game. He was all but signed by Peterborough until he changed agents who demanded more money, and MacAntony pulled the plug on the deal. Silly boy.

Salary cap or not Salford were signing players way above this standard the problem they have is getting the players to gel and roll their sleeves up to win promotion.

Instead of signing players looking for a last pay day they need hungry players and a hungry manager. Easier said than done and just throwing money at it isn’t the answer.

Cleared all the dead wood (except possibly Burns), so a good 11 players to build on. Hopefully Barry and Dixon sign up too.

Would keep Lillis, but I guess that's more down to whether a new manager wants him as a goalkeeper coach (in which case he'll sign on as a player again).

I wonder if any of them like Scott Wilson will be invited back for pre-season?

Wilson i would have kept as he's young - so possibly.
I know people on our forum might not be thrilled at the idea - but i have a suspicion Oxley who was at Southend will be one of our keepers next season.
