Interesting. And good news, although I don't know how widely it will be taken up at such short notice (and under what conditions). The rugby in Gloucester went ahead earlier this week with 1,000 spectators permitted. Fingers crossed by early October it'll be widespread tho.

(All credit to Germany though: their COVID official death toll is about a quarter of that of the UK, despite them having a much a rather larger population, so I don't think that's the best country to draw comparisons with. We're far closer to - but worse than - France or Italy, unfortunately)

If they had the safety signed off! Tranmere and Exeter for start have both said no fans this weekend.

We've put in a request, we'd actually requested it before the Cambridge pilot was cancelled so I imagine we've already done some of the ground-work.

I hope we get fans in Saturday. The sooner we get match day income back the sooner we can go full time again and hopefully start competing on the pitch.

The way we’ve started the season it’s plain obvious that training part time is putting us at a huge disadvantage.

Crawley were given the go ahead (yesterday) for a pilot this weekend v Scunthorpe but the restrictions and processes were such that the club could not be ready for this weekend. From what was intimated the amount of fans would have been less than the amount of season ticket holders and so some sort of ballot would have been necessary...in four days!

Joking aside though, that was the reason why Cambridge cancelled their pilot. They had planned for 3000 fans and it was reduced with a couple days notice to 1000 and they decided it was best to just cancel it than try come up with a fair method to decide which of the fans who had already bought tickets would get to attend.

Our early kick-off on Saturday means we'll be the first football league club to have fans attend since March, interestingly we were also the last football league club to have fans attend as we had a Tuesday night game right before games were initially postponed.

Our season tickets were sold on the value of 22 games starting from the game on 3rd October, excluding this one as it was originally behind closed doors. So season ticket holders haven’t already paid for the match.

We haven't paid for anything yet. Those ST holders who have paid so far (the club are still working their way through everyone) have only paid for games played from October onwards. It would be totally unfair to ask all ST holders to pay for this match and then only allow 1000 of them to attend.

A friend of mine who's a Shrewsbury fan left a work conference call without giving a reason so he could rush down to the stadium and queue.

I got there about 20 past 3 and there were about 5 people in the queue and a few old blokes complaining because they couldn’t get their B stand tickets.

I couldn’t be arsed being on hold so I just drove down. Plus in the website it did say go to the ticket office if you can as the phones will be mayhem.


A mate of mine has just got his paddock ticket by phone and was on hold for an hour and a half. I don’t know how local you are but it I were you I’d try and go down there rather than phone. And it’s the added bonus of not having to wait for Royal Mail to deliver it to you.

With only 300 people in the Paddock I might be able to identify you. If I elimate anyone not moaning loudly then that should narrow it down to... about 300.

They're taking their time to finish up with the Paddock. I'll bet that's just people phoning in then and nobody is at the ticket office, because most people will just have seen the tweet. They reckon that you shouldn't join the queue after six, well that means they've got an hour to finish selling the Paddock and then sell another three areas.

Yeah I doubt they’ll sell out the paddock today. It will run into tomorrow morning I reckon. Probably just don’t want anyone joining the Q after 6 so they can all bugger off home on time.
