Stockport County.
Barclay won't be torn at all. He's never had a look in here for 18 months, he probably has no affinity with us at all really. The first 6 months he played a bit under Rusk but didn't look up to it (not many did under Rusk tbf) There's a good defender in there, think the ship may have sailed for his time here. I'm pleased he's done well for Carlisle.

Time for the first complaining about Wembley ticketing; I see Carlisle are selling their allocation in two halves, putting 19,700 up first so all their support will be grouped up together. And they're selling today.

Whereas we're sticking all 39,000 on offer from the beginning, so everyone will be all spread apart as some will pay extra for the view, others taking cheaper options. That sort of thing ruined the atmosphere in our 2008 game v Rochdale so it could be another echo chamber again. And our's only go on sale on Tuesday.

Obligatory "they should have played it at Old Trafford/Sid James Park" complaint goes here, as well
they’re also only selling in person as well though which is equally shit.

Not sure where that's come from - there available in person, over the phone, and online. Only for those with season tickets, memberships, or tickets for the semifinal matches to start with, think general sale starts tomorrow.

Credit to our staff on this one, they've sorted it very quickly.

Silly question but I assume he can't play in the final for Stockport as he's on loan to Carlisle until a certain date I'm guessing?
To be fair to Stockport, his loan ran out at the end of the regular season and they didn't have to extend it so we could use him in the playoffs. He won't be able to play against his parent club though.

Wouldn't mind us bringing him in permanently in the summer, he's been good and without the injury that interrupted his season would probably have featured a lot more.

We will probably be happy to take a wash on any transfer (technically compensation fee) so long as you can agree wages with him.

Have a look at the pathetic replies from the Bradford fans on this after you had beaten our on the beach team with nothing to play for back in April.
IMO Bradford fans are the worst in League 2 when it comes to trolling after a win (on social media, not you lot on here)
They're riled because of us singing about Andy Cook being a sex offender when he isn't though, so I get it. It's such an embarrassingly stupid chant. If we're gonna give players shit then at least make sure it has some kind of substance.

Where does that chant even come from too? I remember Holloway’s first game away at Mansfield Cook came on as sub for them and our fans were singing ‘she was only 14’ at him but I’ve no idea where calling him a sex offender originated from?

Wouldn't hold it against him if he wasn't torn and was firmly in your camp; he's barely had a look in here, under either Rusk or Challinor (which is strange because it sounds like he'd slot in nicely in our back three), would surely have built up a better relationship with the Carlisle camp, no-one would begrudge him a move this summer. But if you pay the wages, you can set the terms.
He did get a few chances under DC. He didn’t look better than Jordan Keane ultimately but yeah I do feel sorry for him.

Which will be a big problem I should imagine.

Simpson said what we offered Stretton was more than their highest earner and Barclay will be on more than him.

Ipswich fans were singing it at Wes Hoolahan last season, you don’t need facts or substance for a chant these days in this post-truth world.

No idea mate, as far as I'm aware there's nothing in it. The Grimsby Boys on a bender one was getting sung about Ryan Reynolds in the Wrexham playoff match too.

We sing that about Lee Power as well. Clearly in most cases its completely inaccurate. But that's the case for quite a lot of football songs, I mean almost every team sings 'we're by far the greatest team, the world has ever seen' and 99.99% of teams simply are not.

There's a clear difference between bigging your own team up and calling someone a sex offender when they're not though. I'm all for chants that are close to the bone if they're accurate but it just seems at best a bit weird to make something like that up and at worst vile slander.

To be clear, I wasn't defending the sex offender chant or using the fact that it was technically as inaccurate as the other completely inoffensive chant in any way as a defence.

I'm in agreement with you, I personally don't like the sex offender chant, and agree with you that I also find it weird. There is enough toxicity in football and indeed society as it is without these kind of slurs.

Barclay got big wage demands? He's not been a first choice here for most of the season so while he's done well and I'm sure we'd be happy to keep him we're not gonna break the bank for him.

Oh while I'm in the play off thread I'd like to wish fans of both Carlisle and Stockport the best for next weekend. I've seen Swindon win and lose a play off at Wembley and the elation of one versus the heartbreak of the other is world's apart.

I actually fancy Carlisle to win, i was quite impressed with them against Bradford over the 2 games, and whilst I didn't see as much of the Stockport games in the play offs, I reckon Simpson will lead them to glory, 2-1.

This time last year we were gearing up for the playoff final. What a day it was....great for the winners but it sucks for the losers. Had a chat with a couple of Stockport fans in a pub just outside Euston Station when Vale played Charlton the other week and they were sound, so on that basis alone I'm favouring Stockport.

I do feel it’s a shame the game isn’t at Old Trafford. It would be so much better and, you know, a hell of a lot more sustainable too.

Nah, that's still a bit of a trek for us and practically a home game for Stockport. See if Morecambe are available to host it perhaps.

Totally forgot about these play offs until I checked the scores a couple of minutes ago, well played Stockport and Carlisle should be a good final.

I made sure to watch, keep a close eye on our potential title rivals for next season.

I am now officially over Saturday, so congratulations Carlisle, a deserved win. That said I hope Stockport win as I am still a bit bitter.
As for City another year of us being one of the favourites for promotion, another year of certain posters banging on about the size of the crow, and probably another year of the same old shite.

He came on a three-year-deal dropping down from L1 to the NL turning down a new deal at Accy so I’m sure we’re paying him well. I’m guessing we’re still paying a decent chunk of his wages while he’s with you.

I’d suggest we’ll probably come to the same agreement for next season.

Well done to both Carlisle and Stockport and especially Valiant's from our own success last year in Ryan Edmondson (who was very popular) Thomas Holy (who seems to be much better for Carlisle than he was us!) and Chris Hussey.

Should be a good battle and tough to call.

Obviously due to our rarity of appearing in any play off campaign last year still has us all buzzing and we have been reliving the memories as the anniversaries of the games passes so make the most of the day.

Any Stockport fans parking at Wealdstone FC as I see they are being hosted there enjoy, they were cracking hosts with us last season.

The pubs around their ground serve good food too in fact I’ve heard Wealdstone is renowned for its top notch BEEF!

(Probably wasted on you that valefan16 but those of us who’ve slummed it in the National League recently will know what i mean) ;)

Wealdstone BEEF is a dish served very very cold.

I know a couple parking up there. They sold out in their quickest time. Don't mention Barnet .

We were that scared of pissing off the Wealdstone massive and creating unnecessary friction with them that despite being 4 points clear at the top of the National League at the time we let them meekly beat us 1-0 so as to diffuse any potential future BEEF.
