On the TV they thought the ref was harsh on Carlisle but the officials did give a free kick when Stubbs didn’t actually touch an away player and the ball was out of play when Carlisle had a shot which went across the face of goal .

So maybe wasn’t all one sided ?
We got a few throws which we shouldn’t have, the ref guessed at times. But in terms of free kicks the ref wasn’t bias at all, it’s typical we all do it as football fans myself included you get one poor decision and suddenly the refs against you on everything. Their dive was an embarrassment for the chance you mention, had that led to a goal it was a far bigger decision than any of the throws on half way he gave to us. Garner was also a total embarrassment something which probably wasn’t seen on tv, the bloke is 30 odd year old and was screaming and laughing in peoples faces every time the ball was in another part of the pitch. Very lucky not to get sent off for decent and Simpson obviously saw it as he hooked him straight after one particular incident.

We were never going to win down there.

Easy 3-0 win at home, see you's at Wembley.

I didn’t see Garner commit a single clear foul by the way, but maybe they were visible on the sky coverage. The only one I was worried about was when he lunged into a 50/50 in the first half, but thankfully he got to the ball first. Also didn’t think it was a handball in the build up to his shot that hit the bar, but again I haven’t seen the replay on the sky coverage.

I thought the ref was poor, but not as bad as some are making out. There were a couple of bewildering corner decisions that looked clear as day from distance.

Carlisle can only blame themselves not coming away with something, felt they were the more dangerous side but wasteful.

The tweet is aimed at the pathetic FA for retrospectively banning our player Gordon for something similar at barrow.

Neither incident should warrant a ban, but it wouldn’t surprise me with the FA.

I did have a good chuckle at the bloke tagging West Yorkshire Police into the video. I hope he was just trying to lighten the mood with a Monday morning joke.

Aye the red did have a few shockers, like these two below which led to two out of three of your most dangerous chances. I’m just glad the ref was so bias to us or I’d hate to have seen what else would have happened…

Nice sarcasm. But I don’t really get what point you’re trying to make… I didn’t say he was biased against us. I just said he was poor but not as bad as some were making out.

Second one is probably on the lino not the ref.

Wasn’t sarcasm and wasn’t particularly aimed at you, but Simpson and plenty of your fans are acting hard done by from the ref.

The only thing I felt the ref was horrifically biased with was regards garner, the Bradford players were all over him during the match, he should have had numerous free kicks, yet ends up with the yellow and probably a red had he. It been taken off.

But as mentioned Garner is one of them horrible forwards, will wind up, will dive, will play act, will kick at opposition player heels etc etc .

I think that ref has seen his worse side before and has decided to give him nothing regardless, it sometimes happens.

A shame because thought I was starting to see a little of the old garner back, maybe a different ref and with a home crowd at the refs throat we may see opposite results next game

I’m not that confident, but what’s new there?

We do have to be more clinical yes, given the fact we have to score to stand a chance. But we also have to be better defensively. I thought the goal we conceded was appalling on the night, but having seen Armer’s “defending” on the highlights it makes for even worse viewing. We can’t have any defensive cock ups like that on Saturday or it’s game set and match Bradford City AFC.

I honestly don't know why he keeps starting Patrick and up front when he's only ever any good out wide and coming off the bench.
I think Edmondson is getting wasted sitting on the bench, should be him and Garner starting up front.

Anyway on this, you do have to admire Crichlow’s attention to detail and perseverance to get himself into such a good position and vantage point to inspect whether the ball has crossed the line or not. 10/10 for that. Perhaps a career as a linesman after football.

Garner was an absolute joke. It was like watching a petulant 5 year old throwing himself to the floor constantly because it wasn't going his way. An embarrassment to your shirt.

I thought Lee Tomlin was bad enough for Donny, but Garner pips him on that score

Give me Joe Garner yesterday over Kristian Dennis and his “performances” over recent weeks/months.

First day of sales for Carlisle away and over 1400 have sold leaving less than 400 for season ticket holders tomorrow. Would expect them to be gone in about 10 minutes.

Salford has had to put a statement out on Twitter after one of their staff made comments re the Bradford City fire. Another reason to hate the club. Pricks.

Hoping Stockport turn their tie around and stuff them.

What the fuck would go through someone’s mind to mock that? As if they weren’t odious enough already,

Absolutely no clue really. Can't get my head around comments like that. Hopefully, he's dealt with swiftly and harshly.

Thought it was a good game last night. City started well, but we had chances even when they were on top - Barclay missed a sitter, and Patrick wasted a great opportunity to set up a big chance when he elected to take on 4 players at the touchline rather than pull the ball back. Garner almost pulled off a worldy when he hit the bar (wouldn't have counted to be fair), but then we lost our shape allowing Bradford to make their first chance which they duly converted. They nearly had a second due to a poor piece of positioning from Holy, but wasted the opportunity.

Felt we were getting well on top the last 15 minutes of the first half, knocking the ball around well. Several strange decisions from the ref - particularly his bizarre insistence on awarding goal kicks whenever City defenders put it behind for a corner. Moxon's deliveries are deadly, so these are big moments. Second half we were the better side, with substitute Ryan Edmondson missing a sitter after a pearler of a delivery from Jack Armer - and fellow sub Kristian Dennis wasting a chance to set up a big chance when he failed to pull the ball back, electing instead to go for goal from a ridiculous angle.

Some comedy officiating spoiled the game - Edmondson being allowed to cross when the ball was knocking on for a foot over the line, the Bradford lad pushing the ball out of play with his hand, only to be awarded a throw-in, Garner being booked for an absolute nothing challenge (not even a foul in this case, though by the end of the game he deserved his yellow)... the list goes on. Ref looked like he'd bitten off more than he could chew, and the expression on his face all game furthers that belief. Garner and Cook both horrible players to play against - leading with elbows and forearms all game. The 'penalty' would have been soft, but I've certainly seen them given - McCalmont lost his balance, but only because he had 2 hands pushing down on him. Outside the box and that would be given. One of those that you'd be furious with being given against you - or not given for you.

But too much focus on the officials - as I said at the start of the post, it was a decent game between two decent sides, in front of two good sets of fans. Cracking atmosphere, and let's give credit where it's due - that's yet another massive turnout from the chickens.

All to play for on Saturday, and it looks like we're going to have a bit of a rush on ticket sales. They've opened up A Stand for online sales, something I've never seen before. A couple of hundred still for sale in there, but beyond that there are only 7 seats left. Can see another 4-5k being sold, so should be looking at 14-15k including the Bradford fans.

I think you'll beat us to be honest, Moonie. Not sure if you'll get the goals to win outright or if it's just the one to take it to pens. The main worry is if we go for a draw and you score early. I don't trust this team when we're sitting back - it never seems to work and I don't think we have the players for it. We can be really solid at times hence the high number of clean sheets, but feel like there's always a silly mistake such as misplaced passes or piss-poor back passes. We've seen it a lot this season. Every time we're messing about, playing it around the defence and Lewis...that terrifies me at times.

To be honest, even if we lose on Saturday and don't go up, I feel like the club is moving in the right direction with some of the off-the-field sponsorships and the much-increased crowd numbers. We'll have a decent core of players for next season and hopefully, Hughes will have learnt what kind of players he needs.

Good of Salford to issue public apology, I presume they have sacked the sick individual

This is exactly how I feel about us. I have zero expectation for Saturday and fully expect we’ll be knocked out, but I feel we’re moving in the right direction and so long as we don’t have a summer mass sale of players, we’ll have the core of a decent squad with a good manager. Just need to add a bit more quality to make the difference in games against the better sides like yourselves.

Decent 4th tier game slugged out between two very evenly matched sides.

Cracking atmosphere created by both sets of excellent fans helped by having away fans near the kop for a change.

Very impressed with Moxon and his delivery from set pieces, especially corners, were a big worry for our defence and fans alike. Its clear why you have scored so many from his set pieces this season.

Scott Banks impressed for us in my opinion and it was telling that each time he received the ball there were at least 3 Carlisle players all over him like a rash.

It's going to be another difficult tense game to call on Saturday.

Please start with Patrick again rather than Edmondson or Dennis, he hasn't improved one bit since he struggled here.

They did well to get onto it so quickly. He should definitely be sacked. You can't work in football and make comments like that.

I'm sure there'll be clubs looking at the likes of Moxon, but reckon you'd be fine in keeping your team together. Not sure what areas you're actually weak in, but Holy has never looked looked one of the better 'keepers from the little I've seen of him.

He'll have a fantastic future if he carries on. Not only for his ability but also for his attitude; He seems a great kid. Would love to have him again next season.

City will go up next year if they are still a league 2 club, I'm certain of that. Our future is less clear - the debt hangs over us still. But our crowds have been way up in the second half of this season - the average since the Barrow game in January must be around 9k. People have started to get onboard with the club in a way that's not been seen in the last 15 years. If we can keep the momentum when season tickets go on sale, we should have a much improved playing budget - and if we can keep the key players (Moxon, Feeney, Mellish) whose contract situations are still to be settled, we should be able to supplement them with other quality players.

Patrick blows hot and cold, but in his defence he's asked to play in a position which doesn't suit his game. I think he may miss out on Saturday, with John Kymani Gordon's suspension now served. JK is a talent, and hopefully the occasion will bring the best out of him. The likes of Edmondson, Charters, and Dennis will all be knocking on Simpson's door, and I'm not 100% convinced that Morgan Feeney won't be brought back into the fold - he's back in training, and this game may just be big enough for a risk to be taken on him if he's anywhere near 100%.

Fin Back and Jack Ellis have been big misses at right wing back, but I felt Joel Senior had one of his best games for us last night. Wouldn't be surprised to see us go with Gibson there on Saturday, just to up the attacking threat.

Whatever happens, it's going to be a cracking day out. Early bus into Penrith for breakfast and a couple of jars, train to Carlisle, a few more pints and some scran in the fanzone, and then onto the Warwick where the party will get started. Hopefully it doesn't get stopped in its tracks!

Safe journey to all the chickens making the trip.
