Better in L1 than L2, curiously. Started 2021/22 well, but lost his first team place and ended up behind Grant and Odoh for a wide midfield/forward spot - both of whom are a few years younger and contracted for 22/23.

His dad's commented on a few tweets implying that he wants to play for a manager that won't stifle his creativity. Seems like he wasn't a fan of your boss at all.

I think he still probably resents being shown the door here as a youngster, but can very well see him signing for Carlisle under Simpson.

I thought Harris said he wanted rid of all seven contracted players? We had Tutonda on loan a few years ago but he's still only 26. I'd have him back

From what I’ve heard Ebou will leave, most likely Wilson and Cadden too. Can’t blame them, lots of bigger clubs are interested.

Sweeney will stay I reckon, Diallo too although surprised he’s been offered a deal tbh. Didn’t get much of a look in at league 2 level, never mind stepping up a division. Didn’t realise March was under contract, can’t fault his attitude or work rate and he’s a top lad but not sure he’s up to league 1 level. Wouldn’t shock me if he leaves.
Agree on Ebou and Wilson. Not sure on Cadden though. I’m not even sure he is even L1 level.

It may well work out that way but you can’t force contracted players out.

Never thought I’d hear someone say that about Tutonda…

How much would we have to offer Ebou Adams and Kane Wilson? I assume they will be wanting more than 1.5k a week right?
You have zero chance.

Both will be going to a Championship club.

Both are talking to Championship clubs apparently. Adams and his agent were given a tour of Blackpool’s facilities a couple of weeks back.

So if you want to try and compete for them good luck.
Are either good enough for Championship football?

He slightly misspoke - he said there were seven contracted players, but meant to say not all of them will be with us next season, rather than all of them definitely won't be.

Hard to say, but Adams performed well at the African Nations Cup including more then holding his own directly up against Yves Bissouma when Gambia drew with Mali.

Wilson at his best can beat players for fun, loads of assists and the most successful dribbles of any player in the EFL this season I believe. The perfect modern wing back. League 2 player of the year and only just turned 22. For me he could end up in the Premier League if he carries on developing, let alone the Championship. Ethan Pinnock moved from us to the Championship and now he’s doing well in the Prem for Brentford, yes different position but for me Kane actually has more natural ability so if he applies himself right could follow the same path.

Tutonda is a strange one.
I remember him playing one game and we all thought he was the next Roberto Carlos, unfortunate too often after that he looked like he'd forgotten how to play football

Nothing suprising or anything we didn't know from that list.

Wellens has already said, there won't be wholesale changes providing those offered new deals sign them.

Sam Sargeant - Local Boy and basically a backup keeper now for 6 seasons, 25 now and the club and himself have always seemed happy for this arrangement (modern day Stuart Taylor). I'll be amazed if he doesn't sign, when he has played as backup he's never let us down...that often. (the odd blunder has happened)

Tom James - Will have options from League One despite his injury, as too good for this level. I'm not hopeful.

Ruel Sotiriou - We'll be entitled to a fee if he leaves as he is only 21/22 still. Personally don't think he's ready for the step up but money may sway him. 50/50 if he stays IMO.

Darren Pratley – Heard he's already agreed to stay. Still got it if used accordingly.

Adam Thompson – Option in favour of the Club* - Would 100% keep, but he will have other offers from League Two clubs for sure. Might favour a move to Stevenage as he lives round there.

Matt Young – Option in favour of the Club* - Has potential would keep and loan out.

Rhys Byrne – Option in favour of the Club* - Has potential would keep and loan out.

We're also currently negotiating with Lincoln about buying Theo Archibald pernamently, but whether or not this happens is anyones guess. Lincoln will want decent money after the season he's had and they don;t have a manager right now.

Steve Evans basically clearing out every player Stevenage had with only seven staying.

Happy to see Evans is having a clear out. We've been the worst side in the division for 2.5 of the past 3 seasons. Don't get me wrong, there's a couple of names on the released list that I liked and might have even offered something to the squad but I'm pleased to see Evans has been ruthless.

Unless he’s going to be able to change the squad every 5 minutes he’ll still be shit.

Look how his last ‘rebuild’ with us went.

Jay Spearing has been released by Tranmere along with Calum McManaman and Nicky Maynard amongst others.
Whilst 41 year olds Peter Clarke and Joe Murphy have deservedly been offered new deals.
Would like to see Kieron Morris re-sign along with Calum McDonald and Charlie Jolley.
Out of the loan signings I wouldn’t mind seeing Glatzel and Warrington back next season.

Wonder if Darlo want Tyrone back? Darlo On Tour
Alex Perry - Like Justin Walker but much much worse
Jordan Hallam - always injured.

Deep joy.
Not sure we will want O'Neill. Hasn't looked the player we had first time around. Only 4 goals. Was recovering from a bad injury at first, and then I think he had Covid which may have affected him as he looked to struggle to last a game.

Haynes always struck me as a useful left back.

Dom Telford to Salford is nailed on, I think he is from the North West.

If he could get over his injury I wonder if Holden might interest DC? Cracking player if he could get fit again. Wait and see where Mills agent manages to score him a job next (so long as it isn’t us).
Hmmm do we need another one with an injury record though? We’d have probably been promoted comfortably if we’d had average luck with injuries so is adding more risky ones the way to go?

No harm in kicking the tyres on him him I guess. DC having worked with would know about his injury whether it’s more a one off or he is Manny Oyeleke 2.0. Don’t think he’s brought in one of his former players yet since being at Vale.

Haynes released by Newport wouldn’t mind a look depending if us and Mal Benning part ways this summer.

Holden still can't even walk properly. I don't think he will play again for a long time if ever.

There'll no doubt be a few raised eyebrows that a player who can move the ball through mind-power alone isn't seen as good enough for League Two
