Indeed £200 from him so far, let's hope it's a few hundred more by the end of the playoffs.
Agreed...I hope you stuff the Cobblers in the second leg, then lose 11-10 in the Final!

Fair play to Cheltenham, thought they played really well. Popped the ball around well at times and defended against our long ball stuff well! Frustrated at the missed pen and I cannot stand zonal marking either!

Also.... WHY DID OLIVER NOT HIT IT ON HIS LEFT FOOT?!

Think Cheltenham will go up based on that performance having watched both games. Curle is a frustrating manager, he has made us a lot more solid and reduced the wage budged big time. However.. his football is pretty awful to watch, if you are not winning the fans understandably get fed up quickly. He just has certain quirks also when setting up his team that make me think hes not the man to get a team promoted. Stabilise, yes, promoted, no.

We looked like we were enjoying pre season. TBH I thought we passed it around nicely and were comfortable in possession. But we created absolutely nothing in the final third which is incredibly disappointing. We can't expect to get anything out of games if we don't even have a single shot on target in 90 minutes.

Keeper should have done much better with the free kick, will be very very annoyed if that is what decides the contest.

Mirror image of the 2nd half when you played at the CG with a gale force wind at your back. Knocked it around OK but never created a thing.

No Black Lives Matter stuff on tbf shirts ?

(Not wanting to start a debate about it BTW!!)

Guess that was just a Premier league idea.

Did notice the NHS logos which was a nice touch.

Hopefully this knee bending is for initial matches only.

Yeah that was an awful game. It's frustrating because we can play so much better and be really dangerous.

I think a huge part of it is whether people like Randall Williams/Lee Martin/Matt Jay etc decide to turn up. Williams I thought was completely ineffective and couldnt beat Brammell (who was easily man of the match), Martin got injured early on and Jay was playing through the already over-crowded middle so was unlikely to get any time and space.

Taylor needs to change the system for the next match because I cant see Williams getting any joy whatsoever up against Brammell on Monday if they re-run that formation... Better off going 5-3-2 and using Williams just as a wing back, get men into the box and cross from deep. Trying to run directly at them wasn't working.

Northampton under Curle is pretty much a repeat of us under Curle.

Team in the shit, comes in, saves from relegation, gets rid of the shite, steadies the ship. Then starts making some eye catching signings, fans get positive... but just doesn’t have what it takes to take a team up.

This is as far as you’ll get under Curle.

I think the names on the back is but the logo stays.

Racism an important issue in society which needs to be stamped out but we already have Kick it out to promote such problems in football.

Bandwagon jumping is when some 16 year old hipster kid gets into vinyl records because it's 'cool'. Or buying a new smartphone because everybody else has got the latest model and yours is 3 months old :ohm:

Nowt to do with racism at all.

But it won’t will it. It’s paying lip service and will soon be forgotten. Racism can’t be legislated against it’s an education thing - that’s where it needs to be taken seriously.

This might be controversial, but racism works both ways!

So what? Any call for change should be applauded when change is the right thing. And why would taking a knee bother you? How does it effect your life?

Well obviously it does in theory. But I must say, in my 30 years on this earth as a white man, I have never once experienced racism. And I doubt many white people in this country

But it does happen ...... I work in the hospitality industry , I've been called a white bastard, you white trash and much more, that is racism!

No-one doubts that it exists, but it's about more than just verbal abuse.

Like dannyc5 - in my nearly 36 years on this planet I haven't once been racially abused, or seen a white person being racially abused. I have witnessed black and asian people being abused though.

So yes, it absolutely is a two way street, but there is much, much more traffic on one side than the other.

You have a point but for many people, either young people protesting an injustice for the first time in their lives, or older people paying attention to issues around race for the first time in their lives, this has been an educational few weeks.

To me, it feels like a series of empty gestures that won’t make one iota of difference in the long run. Is it really going to stop some Neanderthal from shouting ‘Black ........’ at a game?

It needs educating kids in schools.

I grew up when CND was ‘the’ protest of choice. That panned out well. Real change comes from within - not from some half arsed media opportunities.

Maybe it will if the social pressure is kept up. Thats the point of these "empty gestures", they shine a light on these things and force people to engage with the issue and there thoughts on it - its absolutely a part of the "change from within" you are speaking of, it essentially forces introspection.

The fact we are engaging with it on a lower league football forum kind of shows it effectiveness do you not think?

Well we don't know... I mean we don't know how the world would have been different had there not been demonstrations against nuclear weapons. It may be that the CND had no effect but it could also be that without them nuclear weapons testing would have continued unrestrained until it started to have a real effect on the biosphere, or that stockpiling of nuclear arms would mount and spread until someone ended up using one.

What about adults that need educating? You know the ones that mostly need the education on it.

Young people are usually much more open to other cultures and races. Unfortunatley a lot of older peoples racist views have been cultivated by right wing manipulators.

A couple of very good points above. Young people (on the whole) are integrating on a never seen before scale, which should pave the way in years to come to a much more equal society.

I feel like this has been said many times before though. It was said of my generation and of the generation before.

I just hope we don't try and sit back and play for the draw from the outset. Becoming too defensive when we take the lead has been our downfall on far too many occasions in recent seasons and it would be very McGreal-esque to play for a 0-0 tonight.

Congrats Exeter. Only saw ET but you look a very tidy team considering it’s 120 mins in after months out.

Bowman with a beautiful finish, you’d fit in well in L1 from the small amount of football that I saw
