I downloaded it onto my Android on Friday and haven't even got to start the actual fucking game yet!

Friday: Game knocks itself off bringing up a message saying Unfortunately the game doesn't work blah blah.
Saturday: I get past that error message and onto a submit date of birth page, it knocks off again after that.
Sunday: I get my date of birth in at last, but the servers are down, knocks itself off again.

I might be getting closer, maybe next week it might finally let me play on it.

All this hype over a game that keeps fucking up.

When you get past a certain level (4 I think) you can get them from the Pokestop things you spin (about 1/3 chance). Luckily I live near 2 of them so I can spin for an infinite supply.

The wife has installed it for the kids.....I'm not happy about this as one the kids need to use her phone to do it and two I trust no game that needs access to your camera when kids are using it nuh uh. I was playing this for about a week, having been a big fan of the Pokemon Gameboy games etc., of which I'd still say are some of the best video games money can buy.

Pokemon Go mind, is just plain boring. It's crap. There is zero game play. You could recreate this game, without the server issues, the heavily depleted battery and over heating phone by walking around town and swipe up to unlock your phone every so often.

I'm bitterly disappointed. Oh well, Football Manager 2017 is around the corner...

Yeah that's the major drawback, if you live even slightly rural you're screwed. They really need to tweak the spawn rates outside of town/city centres

Yeah, if I stop playing, that'll be why. I don't have issues logging in etc, few restarts and I am in at worse times. But if I have to walk for ages just to get to ONE poke stop (or worse, drive there which removes the whole point) I'll be less likely to want to play. It's fun with others but it's a long way to go just to play by myself and get a negligible amount of new stuff.

I live next to a football ground which could easily act as a pokestop for example, a local community centre, train station etc. I mean ok I get why York etc would have more, fair enough, but they'll kill the game for outskirters/rural types if we have to go to daft lengths to just get pretty bog standard stuff. Which would be a shame cos it legitimately encourages me to go out and walk when normally I probably wouldn't.

I actually had my first proper Pokemon flavoured journey today... a small group of us went and walked around a big park absolutely bursting with Pokestops. And, fuck me, absolutely bursting with other nerds playing it as well. Pokemon Go is fucking HUGE. I mean, just look at the fact that Nintendos shares, as of last time I checked, are up 70% since the game released (which is crazy, because they only own a partial stake in the Pokemon Company, they don't even actually fully own it!) but even ignoring that, it was staggering how many people were sat around playing it.

It's fucking brilliant putting a lure on a spot though... starts off with just our group, then we end up in a decent sized crowd of fellow trainers who slowly join us one by one.

Ah. Fuck it. I love the game. It's so simple and basic in a lot of ways, but the basic idea's behind it are keeping me addicted. Today was just such a great, unique experience with a video game unlike anything else I've ever seen from the medium. And the best part is, it actually took place outside as well! Don't think I've ever been able to say that about a video game before

Out of interest, do you power up yours or are you holding off? I was waiting for one or two which I might want to power up but starting to think maybe the Pidgeot might be the one to power up.

The best way to gauge how good they are is the white bar at the top of the Pokemon, if it isn't almost full they aren't worth it really. You get better Pokemon the more you go up in level too which is probably quite obvious.

Cheers. So judging by that I should be powering up the lower level pokemon before evolving to get a better evolved one?

I personally only keep the ones with a near full white bar, you'll waste a lot of the stardust powering them up from a low level.

God damn it. I went out to get something from the shop earlier. In the old days, I'd be out and back in 5/10 minutes.

But after taking a detour to get there, beating a gym, seeing a lure on a pokestop nearby and all that jazz, I ended up out for about an hour.

Only amendment I'd have there is to put Zubat in the top group. In fact, actually, I'd make a new group above that top group and stick Zubat in that on his own. By far the most common thing I see. At least on the real games they're only in fucking caves. In real life they're EVERYFUCKINGWHERE.

Bloody hell. For every pokemon, I'd go:

Zubats - probably get one Zubat to one of every thing combined.
Pidgey - If it ain't a Zubat, it's most likely a pidgey.
Weedle - Now we're getting to the exciting stuff. I've found something that isn't a Zubat or a Pidgey! Anything from here is a victory.
---------- cut off point here because those three are a lot more common than anything else... --------
Ratatta/Caterpie/Spearow - Common enough.
Nidorans/Drowsee/Venonat/Paras - What I'd call the "rare commons". You find a fair few of these guys, but nowhere near as many as the rest.
Eevee - All on his own. People insist he is common, but I honestly find him to be pretty uncommon. Haven't seen many at all...
Krabby/Gastly/Shelder/Meowth/Abra/Clefairy - These are pretty much what I consider to be the "Rare's" of the more common things I find. I do see these, but once in a blue moon. Yeah, even Krabby.

Everything else I've only ever seen once, or not at all.
