Pre season friendlies 17/18

Spot on mate. I have friends from both sides and enjoy talking to none of them when it comes to football.

I could not possibly agree with this any more! I've been to the Glasgow derbies at both grounds and it's plain terrifying. That's from a supporter who went to games in the 70's as well.
The sectarian element to their games is pure vitriol, absolute hatred, like nothing in this country!

I'd rather shit in my hands than pander to either side of the old firm, Rangers are the slightly less grotesque of the two mind. Looks like it'll ruin my Sunday session too as they take over Hillsborough corner with their sectarian bile.

Each to their own, Rangers fans were fantastic down here last time, Celtic also have fantastic support, not many if any other clubs can match both their numbers and passion especially for a friendly game, last time over 7k very noisy Rangers fans for a midweek friendly and plenty more couldn't get tickets.

There's two clubs in a country of 4m the rest just make up the numbers, I'd argue that the glory support they have is sad rather than impressive, give me a Hearts or Aberdeen fan any day.

Decent start to pre season for us last night, we had a strong side out but we were missing Forestieri, Hutchinson, Fletcher, Westwood and Loovens so it just shows how much quality we can pick from.

As for the Rangers friendly I much prefer the blue half of Glasgow, but as a "marquee" friendly to mark a 150th anniversary it's a little underwhelming, nor would it be much of a tester. Benfica was a better name last season.

1-1 half time at Field Mill, Wednesday dominated first half an hour but Mansfield come back into it. Rhodes with a 3rd goal of pre season, Taft levelled.

Shrewsbury Town 2-1 Aston Villa

Another Lansbury penalty on the 90th minute.

The penalty was the only shot on target and we struggled to string two passes together. Result doesn't bother me, the performance does.

Won 3-2 at Mansfield Town, Lees put us back in front early on in the second half from a corner, Bennett equalised for The Stags with 10 left to play again from a set piece. Just further highlights our need for at least one new commanding centre back. Lucas Joao scored a late winner though, be interested to see what Carlos does with Joao this season. All in all a good workout, more minutes under the belt and a win is always good.
