We beat Gosport Borough 3-2 thanks to two goals from youngster Conor Chaplin and Theo Robinson who's still on trial with us.

It seems like Roberts' injury isn't as bad as first feared, either.

We lost 1-2 away to Helmond Sport (2nd Division Dutch team).

82 Daggers made the trip. Not sure I'd pay to travel abroad for a PSF but still, a decent turnout.

Thought Robinson was good all afternoon and never gave up when dispossessed. However, I didn't see his actual goal as I was talking to someone at the time! You might struggle to keep Chaplin though. Neither of his goals were special, but he played very well.
Thought your final goal was very much against the run of play. Boro could have been 4-2 up by then. :bg: By then, you were down to your reserve team really, though.
Who were your two full backs? Neither had names on.... Nilsen and Haunstrup? Both looked good anyway.

We lost to a near full strength derby team 1-0. Rico missed a penalty which nearly cleared the stand.

Oh and connor Sammon is bollocks.

Absolute embarrassment of a day. Looks like we failed to show at Bedfont anf Feltham, no idea why.
Drew 0-0 with Maidenhead in a dull game,

Beat Alfreton 3-2, Spencer, Atkinson and Hollis with the goals.

fuck me they were a big side - took it really seriously as well, don't think I've seen fans ever get so emotional at a preseason game. Had some trialist called Josimar Lima who gifted them the first goal, think he might be the worst trialist I've ever seen.

Feisty game though which I guess is a good thing for all our fancy Dan foreigners.

Justin Hoyte played 90 minutes at right-back, set up the first 2 goals but looked fucked with 20 minutes to go, guessing that's because it's his first preseason game though.

Was impressed by you guys. More so than both Rotherham and Sheffield Wednesday. Thought Hoyte stood out for you. And Jimmy Spencer looked good. I hope he can rediscover his best form for you. This is already our 4th game against FL oppostion so we are very sharp and fit.

Thought it was an extremely good run out. We were gifted the first but our second was a beauty of a free kick from Thanoj. We were perhaps unlucky not to grab a draw as Roy Caroll pulled a great double save at the death. Our keeper pullled some great saves off in the first half though.

You may have noticed we had former Pie Fabian Speiss in goal for the second half. What can Notts fans tell us about him? Looks decent for Conference North

Finished 1-1 after we ended the game with nine men due to injury

I left a bit early due to mild sunstroke. I heard later that Millwall booed Callum Kennedy when he was stretchered off. Their player was clapped off earlier in the match.

But of an odd Notts squad that with Smith upfront and no Milsom. Smith has played CB in all our previous games.

Hard to give an opinion on Fab. Looked great in a few cup games, was given a chance last season to claim the journey and properly choked. Never looked like he'd hit the previous heights

The very fact we took Pilks out of retirement ahead of playing him at times tells you everything

Spiess was always tabbed as 'promising' purely because he came through the ranks rated really highly and played a couple of games and did ok. When Bialkowski left the shirt was his to grab and he had a truly dreadful pre-season followed by a disastrous loan spell at Bristol Rovers where he punched the ball into his net twice. Loads of Notts fans will tell you he's great and should have got a chance at Notts, but given his time actually in a Notts shirt and considering the amount of managers that looked past him...I just think it comes down to the fact he isn't very good more than anything else. I'd say he'd be alright for a Conf North team but I've never really seen him look particularly comfortable when catching a ball, which seems a fairly necessary attribute at any level. Athletic shot-stopper though.

That was pretty much our reserve side anyway, I can't see many of those who played today featuring in Cook's starting XI. Chaplin may force himself into it, though. Starting to make a name for himself.

An update on Accrington's pre-season so far

Colne 4 -3 Stanley (they play at the same ground as the old Colne Dynamoes -anyone remember them??)
Stanley 0 - 2 Blackburn
AFC Darwen 0 - 3 Stanley
Nelson 1 - 4 Stanley
Stanley 4 - 2 Burnley (This was John Coleman's long overdue testimonial)

to come:
A Scarborough Athletic
A Marine
H Rochdale
H Blackpool (although this is in doubt at the moment - hopefully it will get played)

Im impressed so far we played very well today against Burnley - looking forward to the season and hoping we have a good start unlike the last two seasons!!

So with match block 3 completed, Notts County takeover as our new insect overlords following Bristol Rovers' early collapse against Arsenal XI. Leyton Orient continue to falter, and with Ian Hendon's job now hanging like a thread a return for former boss Fabio Liverani, football genius, is now looking imminent. York continue to hold onto the tag, 'most boring side in League Two ever' even before the season has started, whilst Dagenham fulfil their sponsorship duties to League Two by recruiting new fans in Holland with a 2-1 defeat to Helmond Sport. Yeovil have also finally started their pre-season, and there's still hope for the Glovers yet as the final table is worked out on a ratio, although there's no real hope for them as they support Yeovil.

Can't believe we've got a table for pre-season games up.

Everyone knows that the table doesn't settle down until we get to late July.

I have a complaint Mr Murphy. You've included our 0-2 loss to Norwich(the second game), and yet failed to include the 1-1 draw in the first game.
Unacceptable :told:

Ahhhhh, this accounts for it. I saw one report which said you'd lost 3-1, and another which said you'd lost 2-0 - forgot you were playing in Quarters for some weird reason. I'll update it to a 3-1 defeat :)

Post match interviews showed two managers who are masters of spin - one was pleased with a 1-1 draw for the first match and happy that our youth players got some experience and held a premiership team in the second; The other was happy to come through with a testing 3-1 victory.

We got destroyed 2-1 by premiership bournmouth. My tip for the season: have a punt on them getting a champions league spot next year. Top 4 team for sure.
