I hate saying it, but we've looked pretty alright in pre-season, especially upfront.

Which is refreshing from us given last season

Tivvy kicked seven shades of shite out of us.
Just what the doctor ordered to be honest. These southern poofters playing neat tippy tappy football.... Nonsense!! Get yer boot in there lad, let them know about it.

Good bit of northern hoofball and thuggery - showing these "professionals" how its done.
Obvious you wern't there then:fl:

Listening to Moniz's interview, I get the feeling we may see Smith at Centre Back quite a bit. Mad man

Another Luton XI (a few first teamers coming back from injuries involved, few youngsters, few trialists) won 4-2 away at Thurrock tonight.

We lost to a strong Brighton side 0-3. It should have been more.
If Simon Walton is the answer the question must have been "Who ate all the pies?"
Yates set us up as a 442. We let in 3 goals before he realised that we were being overrun in the middle.
At the moment we do not have a full back (apart from Lewis Young who was so crap as a winger he got picked there instead). And on the other side it's not a good idea going into games against opposition with a real quality winger (Lua Lua) when the man you have marking him is an attacking midfielder (How many arseholes would you like to have at the end of the night sir?).

Brighton were good but we were not!

Wealdstone 1-3 Wycombe Wanderers
Torquay United 1-2 Yeovil Town
Callington Town 0-4 Yeovil Town

So as game block four comes to a close, Luton Town steal a march on the rest of the pack by claiming 7 points from 9 and going from mid-table nobodies to top of the table nobodies. They replace Notts County and Bristol Rovers who both lose which allows the chasers to close the gap on those vital three make believe automatic promotion spots. The big winners however are Yeovil who leap from the bottom five or so to just outside the top seven with victories over Torquay and WhoyougonnaCallingtonTown. Elsewhere Morecambe continue their relentless thrashing of obscure Northern outfits after Friday's win against Bolton, while Wycombe manager Gareth Ainsworth has a picture with the Wealdstone Raider which very nearly leads me to docking them 43 points for gross misconduct. York sit bottom with a clutch of sides above on three points...but will it all change when the ratio system is introduced at the end of the season.....

Oi listen here Sofaboy, it was an under 18 team. Tivvy beat a team of 16/17 year olds. Good on them.

Now shhh.
Now look here greenteam
Still a pre season friendly just beacuse you were outclassed by a team 4 leagues below it still counts now shhh.

A team playing in our third choice kit of blue and white hoops beat Dundee 2-1 at the Hive last night.

All part of our evil plan to attract QPR fans to watch Barnet, first change the kit to hoops and then get QPR to play friendlies at the Hive.

Who is the defender responsible for that first goal? If he'd carried on he may have been able to at least make it difficult for the forward once he'd rounded the keeper. He just stops and gives up

Pretty sure that was Number 2 down as a Trialist on the teamsheet but I heard it was ex Arsenal Justin Hoyte.

We're at Gateshead tomorrow , one of the few games we can do by direct train , too easy for me I'm waiting for the much more awkward to get to Dunston on Wed..... For those that don't know ,.Dunston is a suburb of Gateshead it's where Gazza is from ... cos of the funny shape of Gateshead it's easier to get to by going through Newcastle then back into Gateshead

Beat Woking 2-0 away, Gareth Evans with another goal and Matt Clarke got the other.

We won't be signing Theo Robinson though as he's finished his trial.

It was pretty comfortable for you, we played Oxfords first team on tuesday and had the better of them, last nights game was very different and was clear that you had better technical ability than us.

We were missing a few first-teamers from that team, too.

I won't read anything into it, though. Gillingham away next week.

A question/conundrum for you.

Until the end of last season our main striker was James Constable (Beano) and his contract was not renewed when he was 2 goals short of our club goalscorers record. He went to Eastleigh.

Today we play Eastleigh in a friendly. If he scores to own goals will he become Oxfords leading goalscorer.

Something to ponder.

We are away to Bradford City today, should be a good test for our players who've recently been at a challenging training camp.
