Dunno what sort of side Notts County put out today but they were pretty poor especially in the second half after making a load of changes. So for their sake hopefully they didn't have many first teamers playing.

Not a good one. Played a weird experimental back 4 and then just gave up judging by the team we played the second half with. I dunno if we choose to 'rest' them or if they get injured but we always seem to have 4 or 5 first teamers not even in the squad for each friendly too. I suspect/hope Moniz just treats pre-season a bit differently than most.

Drew 1-1 with Leicesters first team. If it wasn't for an excellent Schmeichel save it would of been 2-1 honestly don't know how he saved it. We hit the bar and post too.

Looked a good passing side, some glimpses of some very good players we've found.

We've only got one game left and haven't had anything like our strongest team on the pitch at the same time apart from maybe the first half against a Hucknall pub team, which is slightly weird.

We've lost 2-0 at Bradford... if the comments on Facebook are anything to go by that's our season over, pack up your bags, nothing to see here. :dk:

Away at Basingstoke today, it'll probably be just a case of us looking again at some trialists.
Well i cocked that up Basingstoke is on tuesday :ffs: We played Aston Villa away in a behind closed doors friendly and lost 2-1 with Gary Thompson scoring our goal. Just as well i don't do friendlies or i'd have been miles away from where we were playing.:lol:

Beat Colchester 3-0 with goals from McCallum x2 and Scott Kashket.

We actually played fairly well.

Colchester were shocking though, even if it was a friendly, I couldn't believe just how bad they were. Still, it all means nothing.

Woking away for us on Tuesday now.

As for their 'fans', they had about 10-14 ejected when they got pissed off that they were losing (how they realised this I don't know, they weren't watching!) and started abusing the stewards and the Barnet fans. They gave it all out at the start, then realised their team was actually pretty shit and so naturally got it back, and couldn't handle it. Embarrassing all around from the fake club to be honest.

Highlight: John Akindes lob or the chant 'you're too fat for your shirt, fat for your shiiiirt' towards one particular Dons fan who had more stone than brain cells on his person.
Any MK fans with inflatables?
Just don't want your poor battered steward to have any more nightmares....... ;) :P1:

Just seen the goals

Think that might be the end of the Alan Smith experiment. Expect a new centre-back to be signed pretty soon-ish. I think Hollis and Amevor are alright but you probably need a top quality experienced player instead of just sticking with them and Scot Bennett (who is clearly rubbish and should only be back-up) being the only alternative.

We were okay at Bradford today. For an hour there was nothing between the sides really, certainly not evident that there was 30 odd places between the sides last season. Then as both teams started to make changes Bradford took control of the game and got 2 goals. Bad goals to concede but plenty of positives, we opened them up a few times but failed to convert the opportunities.

Drew 1-1 with leicester - both sides pretty much full sides. We look a pretty useful side, could surprise a few tbh.

The passing, commitment and effort was excellent. If we can replicate it in the season I'll be happy

It's all about match fitness and trying out stuff for parts of the game , there are no do or die battles or pushing yourself to the limit ..... They have no bearing on the season they are for the coaches and the players , nothing for your average fan to get excited or worried about , a bit like a sound check before a concert

It's common for the Stags to look good in pre-season, and you often beat local East Mids and South Yorkshire higher league sides in pre season and then..................... the real season begins

York were well beaten 2-0 by an organised and committed Harrogate Town side. We looked woeful, no pace or guile anywhere in the team. On that performance Conference North looks about our level.

Off to Darlington 1883 on Monday and at home to Newcastle on Wednesday - there'll be even more pissed-up geordies in town than usual.

Scot Bennett is a poor footballer...Just seen the goals and he was at fault for the first one and looked exposed for the others.

County you have my sympathies.

Marine 0-4 Accrington Stanley

3-1 MK Dons
Cheltenham Town 2-1 Bristol Rovers
Bradford City 2-0 Carlisle United
Dagenham & Redbridge
2-1 Southend United
Exeter City 1-2 Sheffield United

2-2 Reading U21
Woking 0-2 Portsmouth
Stevenage
0-1 Millwall
Wycombe Wanderers 1-2 Aston Villa
Harrogate Town 2-0 York City

So with matchblock five completed, we have new leaders as Accrington Stanley head the pack as our insect overlords. Victory over marine leaves Notts County and Bristol Rovers all at sea following defeats at a couple of tinpot non-league sides. Meanwhile Hartlepool lose 5-3 in the game of the weekend, while local derbies take place at Victoria Road and the Globe Arena, seeing League Two sides claim four points from six. York City remain rooted to the bottom and although you can't tell much from pre-season, I'd suggest that by May you may be seeing a rather similar picture.
