Beat Reading 2-0 at ours including a goal after 14 seconds. Decent performance by all accounts.

Lost 4-1 to Burnley, nicer football but much more vulnerable at the back as was always on the cards post PP, three out of our four first choice defenders were all missing plus Hanson up front

Lost 2-0 to Hull.

Hull created quite a few chances, especially in the first half and our keeper kept the score down. We were poor but we created a few good chances during the game, but couldn't take them.

0-0 with Wolves. By all accounts we played some nice stuff but not a lot of cutting edge in the final third. Seems to be the pattern from our friendlies so far. Credible effort against a good team though.

0-0 at home to Wolves

Pretty decent. Jerome Thomas looks a great signing. Nathan Tyson on trial up front looked sharp too, hope we take him on.

Hopefully Nathan Tyson can solve that issue Kieran.

How did the European imports look to be settling into English football?

Lost 3-2 to Notts County, both of our goals actually coming when half of the first XI had gone off.

Bodes well, we have so many 'risk' players it's frightening.

Moussa, Jackson, Cuvelier, Osbourne.. couple of bits of bad luck and we could lose 3/4 of our starting XI in any game next season.

Young/inexperienced back up to replace them too, very worrying.

Meh, we were really slow and lumbering with the senior pro's on. Showed our lack of out and out wingers which led to our performance (without Oztumer by he way) being really dull and tame. When the youngsters and the really impressive Osbourne came on for the last 25 we were much, much, much better as we had pace and directness in our side.

Both of the first half goals came from individual mistakes too, which is what I would prefer to be conceding to in pre season. A first year pro in Kouyhar lost his man for the set piece and a bizzare miss kick from McCarthy led to the second, much rather we get these out of our system now instead of the real season.

I'm not awfully worried. I still expect a 12 place finish.

Lost 3-0 to a full strength Norwich side. Played quite well apparently with the final 2 goals coming after we'd brought on about 6 U18s. Mowbray says that about half the team that started will be starting against Swindon.

Lost 2-1 to Burnley last night, 90th minute winner but looked very positive from us, maybe the glimmer of hope for the coming season

Great news! We'd have half a chance against half a team.

We lost 2-0 to Newcastle first team. Alright performance. Jonjo Shelvey completely bossed the game.

Lost 2-0 to Birmingham late on, looked as though we played some great possession football but have little up front at the moment.

Two injuries to Hooper and Thomas in a game against a poorly disciplined Birmingham side twice caused a mass brawl... one with a terrible two footed lunge by Vaughan.

Not the ideal prep to be honest.

We are relegation fodder according to most of the cheery fuckers on OVF. In fact one poster on there doesn't think our current squad would survive in L2

Final friendlies this weekend.

Manchester United XI tomorrow at home which I expect will be a side mainly expected to feature at Valley Parade next week
Sheffield Wednesday Away which I would expect to be the reserve 11 now Bruno has said we are going to be giving 90 minutes to most players.

So not only as this Man Utd friendly upset Chester, I can see it annoying Sheff Weds as I am assuming they penciled us in at this time to give their first XI a bit of a test a week before the season opener. Instead they will get our reserves

We have Leyton Orient away tomorrow. Oshilaja should be back fit, so other than Wagstaff I'd imagine we'd see something approaching a first 11 put out:

Nelson
Jackson - Oshilaja - Ehmer - Konchesky
Wright
Knott - Martin
Dack
McDonald - Norris

Yep seems pointless but United obviously came along as we were going to take it. May be the other way round but imagine we will play first 11 at home to be honest and reserve 11 at Hillsborough.
