Just watched us beat Bishop's Cleeve 2-0,had some bloke called Noble playing for us first half who might attract a bit of interest. Seriously Dan Wishart looked pretty sharp of the first teamers, otherwise not a lot to say and it was pretty much kids only second half from us.

Didn't go, but heard we had a few trialists on show, including-

Harry Pickering - 19 year old ex Port Vale keeper
Jack Fitzwater - 19 year old ex West Brom CB, captained their u23's last season
Josh Smile - 20 year old ex Oxford and Fulham midfielder

We also had veteran defender and ex Aldershot player manager Chris Barker in the team, apparently he's just been appointed academy assistant to replace Wade Elliott. He got motm as well.

Barker was class, great engine at his age. The Fulham lad Smile looked good, Fitzwater too. Also explains who the goalies I didn't recognise were.

We played two 60 minute games against local Southern Combination side, Oakwood. We train at the Oakwood ground so we tend to have these games against them to help their coffers.

Won the first 2-0 and the second 9-0.

Played in typical British summer weather with the teeming rain bouncing back up from a rock hard pitch.

We had a trialist in goal but I've no idea who he was. Let's face it. I could do better than Yusef Mersin I cannot comprehend how Liverpool paid over a million pounds for Mersin. He is worse than Rene Gilmartin!

As for tonight just listened to the Danny interview, sounded happy with two thirds of the 3 x 30 minute spells but the last 30 mins the Benfica team were pretty unstoppable. It's going to be a different challenge against Millwall on Saturday.

They very much have the buzz back again after getting a new chairman. I expect them to have at least 55% of the gate. I think more have come to our match as Mansfield can't give them enough tickets despite it being on a Saturday. (Yes it's closer but Mansfield would have been a change for them I suppose)

We've just beaten Scunny 4-0 in the Lincs Cup quarter final with a rather bizarre kick off time of 2PM.

As Scunnys first team are in Austria the team they put out had an average age of about twelve and it sounds like we could have scored nearly that many.
