Our penultimate friendly at Hemel Hempstead has been called off because of a waterlogged pitch, in July, which is a slight improvement on last season when our final pre-season game away to Braintree was called off because the pitch wasn't up of a playable standard, in July.

Tinpot. Do not miss non-league.

Lost 2-1 to Farense in Portugal, Omar Bugiel with a late goal for us. Very hot, so should have been a decent workout.

Few of our fans out there enjoying themselves.

I'm impressed that more FGR fans turned up to a game in Portugal than at most Conference away matches last year. Genuine fair-weather fans.

Gainsborough and Matlock games both 4-0 to us.

Players looking fit and organised.

Sterling-James and Digby keep impressing, as does Mellis who looks real quality.

Cant wait to see how the new lads do against proper teams.

Not sure Braintree is ever playable. Makes Newports pitch look like Wembley!

You sure that's not the total crowd you bought against us at Wembley :bg:

We're doing great..... a win away at Bamber Bridge and a last gasp win at home to the pub team down the road, Lancaster City. Defeats to Preston, Blackburn and a pretty drab loss to Fylde last night have followed. Our youth team also lost to Atherton last night.

Oh and we still only have 1 centre back, which is Dean Winnard....

Things are looking bright.

We were 5-0 down against them in our St Georges fixture last season. Crazily good they were!

Hoped to get them to VP for a friendly this year but Bruno's departure saw that go.

We got pummelled 3-1 by Rotherham. O'Grady for us. Quite worrying as it sounded like we were well off the pace and Caldwell still messing about with line ups, tactics and formations.

Opening day of the season bodes well with next season's bottom two then. :2thumb:

Seferovic and Zivkovic scored their goals. That's all I can glean from their twitter.

Both internationals (Swiss and Serbian)
Good enough for me to claim we should at least be allowed into the Europa League.

We would have won the Fairs Cup in 1970 if it wasn't for those pesky kids (old farts in EUFA)!

We're playing Leicester today and for some reason have rested basically our entire first choice XI, who don't even make the bench. Lots of second choice options starting with a bench of mostly youth teamers, and a transfer listed player who has been told he won't play for us again (actually there's two of them in the squad, one starting, one on the bench).

Very odd. Leicester by comparison have a pretty strong looking starting XI and a very strong bench (Vardy, Drinkwater, Mahrez, Schmeichel etc). I believe it is live on iFollow if anyone wants to watch us get dicked (can you still log on to other team's iFollow with the same account like you could with Player? I haven't kept up with that stuff).

Also a decent stream on lcfc.com which only requires you to set up a free account which only took a second. Been a tough game for us so far, our young left back in particular is struggling against Albrighton and the overlapping full back (as you might expect). We've got nothing up front either but then we are playing a transfer listed player who's been told he won't play for us again in a competitive game!

Not sure how it's 0-0 with the amount of the play Leicester have had, if Vardy/Mahrez come on it could be a hammering. Not that it matters much mind.

No idea what Jones is thinking tonight. Penultimate game of pre season and he rests what is our likely starting 11. At least Sibbald is finally playing.

Quite. I hope this gamble pays off, because in terms of match practice, we will have had barely any prior to the first game. It feels like a bit of a waste of pre-season, it was already a shortened one with only 3 games v Conference teams and above. Players need to get to know each other and in reality, the first XI may have had only 1 game with each other.

1-0 defeat to a sloppy Riyad Mahrez goal.

It was essentially Luton Town Reserve XI v Leicester City which seems very odd indeed. I don't understand what we've really gained out of tonight.

What I'd imagine will be our second string won 1-2 at Bognor Regis Town. You may have Benfica we got Bognor!

Two late goals won it for us but it seems we were outplayed for most of the match. Sanoh got his first for the club on 83 mins and Dennon Lewis got the winner in stoppage time.

Our official site says we had a behind closed doors game against Brighton last night. Seems odd as we played them on Saturday...well Brighton played. Why play again behind closed doors? No clue to who played or what the score was.
