Beat Birmingham 1-0 last night, but in the process we lost a rwb we had on trial to a dislocated shoulder, our big signing in midfield may have broken his leg, and one of our forwards ended up with a broken nose.

Still, we're 10th in the PSF League table, so priorities.
Crikey sounds more like a game of Rugby League

Completely-Suzuki Stadium? Love it.

I'd be keeping an eye on them. This could be phase one in an attempt to retake the Falklands. GCHQ could be next.
I saw a video of them and they were bloody loud, especially for a friendly.

Glad they enjoyed it and will now spread the good word among their friends in South America.

Any first-teamers?
Mostly an U18 type side, Charlie Kendall played up front but that was it. A couple of of people who were there didn't recognise any of the players (Kendall being a new signing).

There wasn't anything across social media on our side about it.

Yeah, I'm not going to include it - will post an updated table going into the final games on Saturday (plus a couple on Tuesday next week).

Pompey top the table for the first time, replacing Peterborough who dropped from 1st to 14th after their two defeats last night:

We have our "glamour" pre-season friendly today...against Newport County.

Odd that we are playing a League Two side at home, would have expected it to have been away, maybe they are carrying out work on their pitch and only agreed to play us if the game could take place at our ground...who knows?

Either way, it will be a chance to see what the new players look like ahead of the season starting and we usually have a really entertaining game against the Exiles.

We're doing the same with Northampton - we seem to have started doing it a bit quite recently, I remember playing Bristol Rovers last season for example.

Dundee Utd at home today, the visitors quickly sold out their allocation and have been given more
Be good to be back watching the lads, plenty of new faces together with new manager and assistant. Perhaps we'll get to see Promise after his recent signing this week

Away at Rochdale. The main purpose of the game for us is that Tom Conlon, Tom Pett and Brad Walker will all get minutes today. In the case of Conlon the importance of getting him back cannot be overstated. Will find out as well I guess based on the lineup if some of the rumours about Wilson picking up an injury are true or not. Overall just hope we get through it without losing any more players so sadly we will have to concede our hopes of lifting the preseason championship trophy.

Looking forward to this. Should hopefully be a decent game. Good to see Conlon back - in the equivalent friendly 2 years ago he was excellent.

Yep can usually count on a decent game between us. In terms of the quality of football played by both teams I think your 3-2 win at VP was up there as one of the best had seen all last season. Been a long time coming for Conlon, given the type of injury he had I doubt he will shine too much if at all as it’ll be his first time on the pitch in over 7 months but to compete this season we’ll need him firing.

Here’s to a nice injury free game for both teams.

Vale beat Rochdale 3-2 coming back from 2-0 down early on.

Proctor with a brace and Ojo with a 35 yard stunner apparently.

Lack of Wilson again pretty much confirms the rumour that he is out for 2 months which is a blow, although sounds like youth Tommy McDermott did well again winning a penalty.

Rory Holden came on as did Tom Conlon.

Drew 0-0 with Wimbledon. Their keeper saved a Cam Brannagan penalty. It got feisty so a good workout I reckon.

Wilson may well be injured but given he won us our first penalty in over a year I say fuck it give Tommy McDermott the shot against Fleetwood.

Not really fussed about the scoreline just glad everyone came out with no knocks. Could really do with at least a couple in during the week though.

Drew 1-1 with Huddersfield. Both first XI’s going at it, good game for a friendly.

Promising performance again ahead of next weeks start.

Just need to improve defensively, cut down on silly mistakes.

Drew 1-1 with Newport, Matt penalty for us and a Zanzala header for them. Hard to say how we will do next season after a pre-season friendly, I just hope our fans are patient with our players and management...otherwise it could turn nasty pretty quickly...expect our first home game against Ipswich to seriously test our credentials.

On a positive, Little and Davies looked pretty decent aquisitions...expect them to do OK.

Lost 0 1 to a very strong Blackburn team
Very few chances for either side
Bit lacking upfront but some promising signs.

Morecambe 0-0 Carlisle. We are absolute fodder.
They beat us last week at their place albeit we didn’t pick our best xi but it was still a strong team. I think they’ll be one of the surprise packages in league 2 after a shocker last season

Seems to be a few things coming out of pre season:
1) organised at the back, don't concede many
2) seem to have a lack of pace in the squad
3) lack creativity upfront which results in no goals

Fans will naturally be either pessimistic or optimistic with a few right additions. We'll see!
