Not great if you're claiming to be ITK and get a simple friendly wrong.
He should just do what the ITK fans on our board (which is most of them do), allude vaguely to something big and then claim that you can't say the rest but we'll find out soon enough.

We have added an odd one.

KSV Roeselare FC are saying they have a in house meeting with Reading and while over will be playing Crawley. No, I've never heard of them and no word from us on the match either.

Seems they play in the Belgium b division and are owned by the sister of the Reading owner.

A bit different from the norm and may be worth a look.

Been told today it is all ticket for our fans -- Surely not for a Pre- season friendly.

You've "missed out"?

Friendlies are boring as shit, let alone ones you actually have to travel to get to. Must be something better you can do instead?

One of the few FL grounds I've not been and a Friday piss up in Lincoln appealed.

You can still go for a piss up in Lincoln, why bother paying to watch a pointless kick about between 2 half arsed sides?

Cos it's a tenner, why bother going to any game?

Cos there's something on it, and whether you win or not actually means something.

It's because football fans are such mugs that clubs can get away with charging such ridiculous prices for everything. Even a tenner is a rip off given how meaningless the game is.

Lighten up, Chris, watching football is watching football. I'm going to Bath and probably Taunton, I realise it won't be great football and competitive, but watching a game again in the sunshine with a pint and a pie is not a bad way to spend an evening

I just don't get it, I can have a pie and a pint in the sunshine and watch a proper game at the pub for free literally every day at the moment. Yesterday was brilliant, proper party atmosphere.

Fuck me if Im going to travel miles and pay to watch a low quality game that literally means nothing. I'll be shelling out enough when the proper stuff starts as it is.

I'd rather watch players from my team live than superstars on the telly. And watching football in the pub? No thanks.

Watching England in the sun in a pub garden as we destroyed Panama yesterday was fucking brilliant, great atmosphere everyone buzzing. And I didn't have to pay a tenner to get in.

I can watch players from my team attempting to string 3 passes together live 50-odd times over the next 8 or 9 months in games that mean something without wasting more money watching friendlies before it all starts.

I see both sides of this, but I'm with Chris. I've been offered free tickets, by a supplier at work, for our game with the Wendies. Politely declined, friendlies are meaningless games. A free night on the ale might have swayed me into going!

Aye but it would mean you could get out of Dingleland for the evening.

Away friendlies are brilliant - relaxed atmospheres, usually able to have a pint on the terrace, no actual stress because nothing is riding on it.

I've travelled to Banbury, Evesham and Worcester to watch Cheltenham friendlies, and they've generally just been a good chance to have a beer with some footy thrown in for good measure - whilst also catching up with a few mates I only see at the football.

Friendlies were the first times I saw Jordan Storey and Ethan Ampadu. Who knows who will play for us this year?
By your reasoning if the Champions League clashes with a League Two match, you'll be in the pub watching the Champions League, as its free and better football.
Absolutely no way. And it's not as if the World Cup clashes with pre season!

Agree with this. Shortwood away, sat on the fence on top of the bank behind one of the goals to watch the game, served tea in a proper mug that you hand in on the way out from the ground, decent burger...catch up with the people I watch home games with, what is not to like?

I went to Forest Green v Gloucester City in 2007 as well (just after the floods) when it was announced that City would be groundsharing at TNL.

Felt I was doing my bit for Gloucestershire football by contributing.
