Weston Super Mare 0 Exeter City 3. Goals from Bowman, Joel Randall, Jack Sparkes.

A mixed team with a few key players (Law, Martin and Bowman) alongside a number of squad/young players. We had s trialist ‘keeper who would be a backup signing behind Ward and Maxted.

Another clean sheet too, so all good.

Our first real test is this Saturday when we welcome Swansea City to SJP, but we do have Southend tomorrow in a behind closed doors game.

We're away to Hornchurch tomorrow night, was moved from tonight due to the Justin Edinburgh memorial service.

We're also sending a team to AFC Rushden & Diamonds on Thursday, I'd expect that to be the youth team and any trialists playing.

Clearly playing your games two at a time is the way to go.

With the amount of signings Northampton are making, I'm wondering if it's their intention to get all their away games for the season out of the way in a single afternoon, leaving them plenty of time to focus on the home games.

An added little bonus for us. Josh Dixon, our first year pro who's looked so good in the pre-season friendlies has done his cruiciate.

Can this day possibly get any better?

Beat local side Eccleshill United 2-1! We fielded a team full of trialist’s again.

Featuring Shaun Brisley - formerly of Notts County and Carlisle United. A lad called Miracle Okafor notched the winner. No Nortey Nortei today, sadly.

We’ve had some belting names on trial this pre-season.

We lost 1-3 to a very strong SW side on Saturday. They were much better than last pre season when they also won at SB.

We've Sheff Utd on Saturday, not looking for much from that, result wise, either.
A pre-season list of 2xPL, 1xCh, 2xL1 and a couple of Dog and Ducks should be a good preparation for the season.
Always think it good to have a couple of defeats in pre-season, aside from being good tests, it ensures there is no complacency for the start of the season.

I decided to go along to watch the Curzon vs Crewe game last night. Curzon tried their hardest but Crewe passed the ball about well and were clinical in front of goal.

Paul Taylor (trialist) was a constant menace and took his goal very well. Also the other trialist Smith was impressive. Any idea where he's come from? I'd certainly take him at Stockport if he doesn't get a deal at Crewe.

Our first proper test is on Friday when we play Birmingham City behind closed doors.

Was due to be at home, but we have an issue with the irrigation on our pitch which needs to be sorted.

I expect this is where our 100% record ends.

They've got Bristol Rovers on Saturday as well so probably be a mixed team they send down.

Hes shite. If you thought Knight-Percival was shit, this guy will make Nathaniel look like Sergio Ramos.

Harvey Smith, ex Bristol City and Hereford, I think.

Highly unlikely we'll be signing any of them, not sure why we are doing it tbh. We have a squad of 26 plus our own youngsters(who were better than the trialists according to a few who were there), seems a bit of a pointless exercise to me.

As mentioned, I think the bulk of the trialists are there to ensure we have enough players to field a team.

We currently have:

Paudie O’connor
Tyler French
Ben Richards-Everton
Anthony O’connor
Kelvin Mellor

Who can all play CB to some degree.

I highly doubt Shaun Brisley is on our radar.

Fleetwood in our first home friendly tonight... likely to be a bigger than usual interest in that from the media I expect.

Looks like we had a strong team out against Southend today and their goal was scored by one of their main strikers, so assume they put out a strongish team too.

Fisher and Jake Taylor with our goals.
