I can see it now.

Forest to make the POs on the last day where Derby miss out, despite them being embargoed and Derby spunking in excess of £25m.

We'll finish bottom half. There's no missing out on the last day this time round.

We may even be lucky to escape relegation, if nothing improves.

Not quite as funny as five years in League One mi owd

Now that is something i do not find enjoyable almost certain to be 6 too. Make sure you get promoted inside 2/3 years or youll end up like forest trying to buy your way up and then fail.

Difference between us and Wednesday is that they look to have brought in a decent manager who isn't a lunatic and their 'big money' signings are actually doing the business. Under BD we just need a striker like Hooper (and better luck with injuries) and I'd have backed us to finish top 6 easy.

Thats a good point tbf as much as i dont like saying carlos the clown has turned out to be no clown at all. They still havent beat a team above them though no doubt theyll save that for the playoffs the bastards

Just read Ipswich have won 16 Tuesday night games at home in a row. Madness.

I remember we had some ridiculous home Tuesday night unbeaten run stretching about 4 years or something stupid, back in 2008ish

Edit: just looked it up, we went 7 years (8 seasons) without losing a Tuesday night game at Deepdale, 34 matches I believe. Starting on the 10/04/2001 and ending when we lost 2-0 against Swansea on 30/09/2008.

And 4 of our last 8 home games are Tuesday nights :cool1: Hull, Blackburn, Charlton and Fulham

Our game is irrelevant, it could be played on a Thursday morning and the result would be the same.

By contrast we are utterly crap at home in midweek.

We weren't too bad in 2008/09 and 2006/07 tbh.

How long before you get out of that god awful league? Ridiculous that you haven't done it yet given you have similar spending power to us when we're down there.

Cotterill's available now, as much as you may dislike him he did an excellent job with us and would probably get you up as well with a budget.

Some Sun journalist who I've never heard of reckons Clement could be sacked if we lose tonight.

He won't though, as that'd be ridiculous.

If Clement does go, then I hear Steve McClaren will be available shortly

I can't pretend to be an expert on Derby. But from the outside, Clement was unlikely to be an instant complete success and would need time to do his best work, because he's never been a manager. In hindsight perhaps a new manager saddled with the expectation of £26m of signings and instant promotion wasn't the greatest combination. But as a proven top class coach he'll have spent 6 months getting his methods across to the (talented) players, and ripping it all up and starting again now will only be counter productive. Better to push through and come out the other side at this stage?

Indeed.

Bit of a weird combination this year; chairman assures we're in it for the long haul and PC is the man for us if we don't go up this year but then we spend the best part of 25 million which indicates we're going for it. That's where the pressure has come from. Our hand kind of got forced when two of the best midfielders at the club got long term injuries on the opening day vs Bolton. If that didn't happen we wouldn't have bought Johnson or Butterfield IMO. (10 mill right there).

The fact that Pearce hasn't played and is out on loan along with Bent and Weimann not making squads confirms that our head of recruitment (who was relieved of his duties a few months back) did a pretty bad job in the summer as they clearly aren't players that PC wants. We didn't recruit where we needed to. Stick with him for now.

Clement will only be sacked if we miss out on the top six. Then he'll go to Bayern with Ancelotti.

Despite my pessimism, I'm still hopeful he'll turn it round though. Another run like the one after the slow start to the season, and we'll be just fine.

Still don't think we're going up, we'll have another spell and can see us getting beaten by \Burnley on Saturday (Turf Moor is our hell), probably to Derby and Boro too.

All tightening up at the top now, with Boro and Hull dropping points. Only 6 points separating the top six.

Does seem that whenever there's a growing consensus that a side are about to "run away with it" or are "as good as up", the Championship gods will deliver a great big :fing:
