Slowly clawing our way up. Perhaps top 2 isn't out of the question after all. Still think we'll miss out, mind.

Horrible performance and result for us last night - credit to Burton who came for a draw and got it, very organised in defence, 10 men behind the ball at all times.

Not enough urgency or creativity from us, and terrible defending from the corner which we eventually conceded from. No desire to win the second ball.

Hopefully this is just a bad couple of games for us, but very frustrating coming out of the international break looking so leggy and tired. Fitness seems to be a real problem at the moment, and I’m not sure why that is given we usually have so much of the ball, and don’t press as hard as many other teams do.

I'd say you are probably favourites for 2nd spot.
I'd disagree and say Cardiff/you lot are now. Can't call it a fluke now it's been almost half a season and you're both keeping up the pace so far.

Don't get me wrong I don't think we will collapse nor will Cardiff but youre nearly level with us at the minute and have a much stronger squad so that gives you the edge. I still think Middlesbrough will be in the top 2 race as well come the end of the season.

I did as well but having watched them a few times now they're not really getting the most out of what they have at their disposal, Monk's treading thin ice already I reckon.

We need to get back on track Saturday and beat Hull up there, I expect us to as well. Same for you with Brum.

Can't see Boro getting in the top 2 race, playoffs certainly, but I don't see them picking up enough to do it. I'm more worried about Bristol City, Leeds and even perennial bottlers Derby challenging for it tbh. Though challenging us is obviously the wrong choice of words regarding Bristol City considering we're only a point ahead of them, but you know what I mean.

Boro have no chance of top two, imo. I'd be amazed if we managed top two with the standard of football we play most of the time. We are a typical Bruce team, which is not a bad thing in this league. I'm a lot happier now, I must admit. That win at QPR showed great character.

We're not any threat to the top two. Whilst we're playing well I don't think any of our fans would be at all surprised if we finished 19th, we're never far away from completely falling off a cliff under Johnson.

I actually genuinely think we have a chance of 2nd. Just hoping Paul Coutts won't be a big loss, think we have reasonable enough cover. Not many teams if any can attack us with the pace Fulham did last night, the way we play suits Fulham perfectly. I think we will beat Birmingham personally and it will of been another very good month. Even if we don't beat Brum we will still be 3rd so happy days either way.

Lundstram didn't half get some stick last night from what I've been reading, doesn't look up to it apparently. Carruthers was pretty shite at this level for MK as well.

That's just the standard bellends who have to find a scapegoat all the time. He's the easy target. I think he will be fine, let's be reyt here look how wilder has got clarke, sharp, coutts,o'conell, freeman,Duffy and others playing at this level that says it all really.

We've got no chance of top 2 whatsoever. You have to be able to play football well to do that. I hope the teams that are actually going for it like Sheffield Utd and Bristol City get the top 2 places. We might scrape last play off spot and then embarrass ourselves. Our record against the top half so far this season is something like played 10, won 1, scored 3. Pathetic.

Still got a ridiculous team for this level and not that far off , you still seem to have karankas mentality though which was try and win 1-0 basically wasn't it?

Decent win for us, although big fan of that Leeds goal.

Us? We won't even trouble the top six. We're just shithousing teams at the minute, won't last.

There are 11 points between Cardiff and Norwich in 14th. And Villa have shown what a decent winning run can do, and I don't mean consecutive wins, I think in this league if you kept winning 4 out of 5 you'd soon make ground. The size and competitive nature of the league means that unbeaten runs that include too many draws can actually be harmful to your league position.

Also I feel like Wolves have been immense this season but haven't pulled clear like I'd hoped, so opening up a 7 point gap over 3rd is the best thing about this run.

The teams at the top of the championship this season have been exceptional, someone stuck a graph on our forum that a game or two ago we were on a points per game average that would normally win the league while sat in 4th and we'd be 10 points over the average (last 5 seasons) to reach the play offs.

Best away record in the league if we ignore the best Champ team in about 10 years.

Just need to sort the home form.

It's always the same, as the top teams have yet to have any real down periods yet, where they struggle for form. It all averages out in the end.

For example, at this point last season Brighton had 39 points in 2nd, Sheff Weds had 31 points in 6th, so not too different. I guess you can use last seasons final points totals for a rough guess on what you require.

Wolves 4 points clear of Newcastle's points total.

Slightly different at the other end of the table though, with much lower points totals than normal (5 down on last season after 19 games).

Quite easily could be a 7/8 point gap between 6th and 7th come next weekend with bristol city playing Boro and villa playing Leeds. Expect derby to get at least 4 points at home to ipswich and burton We also could be as low as 6th just like that. I hope it happens actually apart from the us being 6th part.

Going to say it now. Would much rather see the Blunts back in the top flight than those twats from Bristol.
