Well, 9 pts from three games, can't really complain although the performances in the Sunderland and Ipswich home games haven't been fantastic. If you want to be near the top of this league then you need to win games that you don't play great in. I'm more than happy if we keep this form up! Adomah has been absolutely fantastic this season. Big game against Leeds on Friday, really looking forward to it.

Going to say it now. Would much rather see the Blunts back in the top flight than those twats from Bristol.

I wouldn’t worry. We’ll most likely fall away.

We're not playing well very often, but except against Reading keep picking up results. Rowett has started talking about aiming for second place, but I'm still not totally confident we're even playoff contenders yet.

Implosions and all that.

Oh that's nice.
Personally I would much rather see the Blades back in League 1 or preferably League 2, than back in the Premier League.

The Blades and all the local clubs have some sick little bumfest with each other, they all despise Wednesday together.

I think Craig just doesn't like us.

Not all that unhappy Cardiff won, draw would've been preferable. Liking the look of that cushion to 7th. Big chance for us and Villa to create some separation next week.

Down to you're pure arrogance that you think you're summat that you are not is the reason barnsley and Rotherham dislike you.

That's what they and you would claim, more honest reason is due to our relative (by South Yorkshire standards) success in the mid 80s to early 90s we were seen by many locals of the said cities as the team to support, hence we have quite large in both Barnsley and Rotherham, I would be pissed off if my city had one club, but many locals supported another (fairly local) club from outside the cities boundary.

Don't mind Barnsley, their fans generally hate us but are friendly people and its good for a night out.
Rotherham though make me laugh, so far up United's arse and think we care about em and they are our rivals, which is total crap (we only really hate you and to a lesser extent Leeds)and except for Clifton Park it's really not got much going for it as a city. Cue the arrogance and the Sheffield's a shithole comments.

Anyway this is the promotion thread, I really don't know how I found my way here, but I have no business here. You who should be here enjoy it.

Give over, you'll get it right, with or probably without Carlos. Would still back you to finish above us.

Christ. What more do we need to do before our own fans start believing in us? 3 premier league teams beaten, one away defeat all season, a very strong goal difference... 4-5 of our first XI are out injured yet still we are getting results. When the likes of Pisano and Famara are back, we can only get stronger.

Yet all I hear is how we are going to fall away. What a miserable bunch you are! ;)

As I said, their success will probably come without Carlos as the football seems to have gone stale under him the last 18 months. I'd be happy for them to try and steal Johnson and us have CC tbh

You're not that biased, you know that their squad is probably the second best in the league and they're massively underachieving.

Injuries have done us in, it's only downhill from here unfortunately and I think that's visible from our last couple of games.

Says the guy who predicted one point from twelve in november.. we got seven. Nice effort there nostradamus! ;)

The next month might be a fair old struggle but our injuries will clear up and then theres January for reinforcements. I'm not saying we're gonna make those playoffs but we've got as much chance as anybody else around us.

The month before I predicted 7/12 and a cup win and we got exactly that so we'll take the rough with the smooth.

Hang in there the next month and bolster the squad with a couple of loans in January and I'd be a tad more optimistic, just need some stop gaps really to cover our injury crisis.

They have good individuals yes but too many are too similar and all too slow. As a Wednesday fan if you were offered any united player instead of their own they would probably say no to every one. But having good individuals is clearly not doing them any good at the minute. Be a tough ask for them to finish above you or us.

Yeah they have no pace out wide, but then they had a quality set of quick wingers in McManaman and McGeady and Carlos never used them. Not his style. They miss Forestieri massively of course.

How many of your players do you think currently would get into their side on an individual basis? Fleck, Stevens, Clarke?

On an individual basis probably none basing it on their careers. However would I rather have Leon Clarke than Jordan Rhodes right now of course I would without a doubt, would I rather have flack, coutts and Duffy instead of 3 of theirs yes without a doubt. To be honest I'd only accept their goalkeeper currently to come into our side.

Westwood, Bannan and Lee would probably get into your side I think, Reach possibly as well but I really rate Stevens, he looks a proper class act.

I don't rate reach that highly tbh. Goalie is class, bannan is quality on his day too. If we had a good goalkeeper we'd be matching wolves point tally weve Not had one since paddy Kenny left about 9 years ago

We haven't had one since Heaton. Steele looks decent but isn't getting a league start, been our cup keeper. Fielding's a clown imo.

From the outside, Weds seem to have fallen into the trap that a lot of teams with money do, splashed out on a load of names with no real vision as to how they're going to fit together as a team. A lot of signings that looked good on paper but weren't really necessary or to any real plan and now they're left with a bloated squad and no real identity.

A lot of their fans on Owlstalk and a bit on here saying things like "man for man I wouldn't have anybody from X in our side" which seems to be missing the point. I'd take our team (or Sheff Utd's, or Cardiff's) over theirs any day.

A new manager might fix things, or he might just sign his players on top of it and just compound the problem, and they'll go the way of Derby. Who seem to have picked up now they've sold a few.

Player for player, on paper I would take Brooks, not certain who your fullbacks or centre halves and wingers are, but I would probably take both fullbacks, one centre half and one winger.
But as a team and a unit it would be completely different probably only 2 or 3 of ours would currently get in an all Sheffield team, it's about much more than how good each individual player is supposed to be.
Teamwork, unity, spirit wanting to perform you currently have them all in abundance, we on the other hand have a team full of individuals with 1 or 2 egos in it.

Given time a new manager shouldn't really be a problem, it's the fact we've given 4 different managers about 6 months each that's landed us in a pickle with an unbalanced squad.

Sell your best players and replace them with cloggers, seems to have worked a treat for us so far.

Next couple of games will be interesting. Two teams who have shithoused us in recent years at Pride Park in Ipswich and Burton. Now we're doing the shithousing it might be a different story.

United don't play with wingers.

Perfect week for us, 3 wins, 3 clean sheets and 3 opposition managers pissed off. Lovely stuff.

I've never seen a more pessimistic bunch of fans than the Bristol City lot.
