Im just glad we’ve already got enough points for survival, else it’d be a concern.
We've only got a 25 point gap, time to start panicking :surr:

All the results went against us today, but atleast we won too. Caught the last 20 minutes of the Wolves game. Different class. Preston seem to be coming into the fold. Don't think they will quite have enough though. Sheffield united's bubble has burst by the look of it.

We will see in the upcoming games. We were better than you the other night but lost, fully outclassed today. Been a good year though either way.

Weren't a lot in it against us. Yeah, you can't complain too much, but still not over yet. It's not that you're playing bad, you're just on a shite run. I think Leeds have fucked it now.

Hopefully Jansson was stretchered off maimed rather than just having a sprained ankle or something today and yeah they will be. Pennington may be their only fit centre half when they play us who is shite anyway, Shaugnessy and Cooper both out and Berardi who has filled in there a bit got sent off today.

We'll still lose there mind, we always do.

Another false dawn for Leeds. Whoever does get it right eventually, they will be forever in Leeds folklore.

Decent result for us yesterday against a good team.

It's now starting to feel like a proper competition, can't say I've been that bothered about Villa/Cardiff/Fulham/BC/PNE etc and their results but I was checking yesterday that's for sure. Wolves are gone, I think we can all agree on that. The battle for second is a free for all currently, below are the figures for teams finishing second and third in the last few years;

2016-17 3rd 85 2nd 93

2015-16 3rd 89 2nd 89

2014-15 3rd 86 2nd 89

2013-14 3rd 85 2nd 93

I reckon it's easily going to be 89+ this year again for second place. That would require 11 more wins from 16 for us. 12 from 16 for Villa, 12 from 17 for Cardiff, 14 from 16 for Fulham and Bristol City.

Of course things could go tits up for everyone and 85 might be enough but there just always seems to be one or two teams on an absolute charge, nobody is letting up. A big month ahead after seeing everyones fixtures posted on our forums, I expect it to be pretty tight still but maybe a reshuffle from second to fourth.

I'd just be happy to be fighting till the end this year and not going out with a whimper like we did under Grayson. Making the playoffs would be above and beyond what i'd hoped for.

The going out with a whimper was definitely more down to the players than Grayson though, hopefully Neil being a horrible, ruthless bastard means that won't be allowed to happen. I'm not confident about these next three games though, Brentford is a proper bogey ground, Wolves are the best team this league has seen in years and Villa are solid as a rock recently. Could quite easily be 0/1pts.

Hogan finding form, Grealish back after injury, and John Terry are why we are where we are. Everyone has contributed, but those are the key moments. We got a lot of stick for signing Terry, but he's been an absolute class signing. I think we are a better team without kodjia in it, which is crazy to think really, but we are. He will be a useful player when fit again.

One of if not the best centre half in the country in the last 15 years, he's a class act.

We are very lucky to have him. Hoping to get another season out of him.

He said he wouldn't play against Chelsea so if you go up I think he will stick to his word and leave you.

Yeah I know. He could sit out of those two games I suppose, but it's not ideal. If he did leave, I'd be interested to know where he would go.

He was offered a lot more to go abroad than we were offering him. I could maybe see him going to the states, if he was to go abroad.

This January and early February slump has really cost us a chance of automatic. From 2nd on Boxing Day and looking at 50 points from 25 games against Wolves, we have really lost the plot since then.

All about the play offs for us now. Luckily the competition doesnt look too hard in Preston and Sheff Utd (no offence but we are 3 unfancied teams taking on the big money boys) unless Boro or someone get their act together.

1.5 points per game from here on should be enough

The price you pay for that cup run.

Meh I think that's overstated. No one talks about how much a role the confidence and momentum built from thrashing Palace and drawing Utd played in our great run over Nov/Dec. Think it's more a case of natural levelling out and our difficulty breaking down teams that sit deep, which has been an issue all season, catching up with us.

Actually thought it was a decent set of results for us Saturday, far more worried about slipping out of the playoffs than top 2 now so not too unhappy with Derby and Cardiff winning.

At least we've got Sunderland next, but tbh I'll be more confident against Fulham weirdly

Exactly, we flourished from that cup run and it gave us a buzz that helped us carry the momentum into the league. The last two times we were promoted we had an extended cup run.

Also the last 4 seasons a side making the quarter final has been promoted. We were the only ones this year...

That's my theory out of the window then. Maybe it's a myth, I don't know, but usually after a big cup game, the smaller teams can be deflated from it.
