Give over sewn up

FGR yes but the rest is still all to play for.

He just keeps repeating the same shite every post to cover his and Mansfield's arse if we do see it through. So he can sit there and be like 'told you, it was obvious the top 3 was done and dusted ages ago. It's just good to head into the play offs in good form'... it's just very poorly hidden reverse psychology.

Stone as in the Vale keeper? It was picked up, he got booked and they had a free kick which he tipped onto the bar.
Is it not a red for handling outside of your area? Seems almost identical to the incident in the Fleetwood game

Three players who have been ever present and overwhelmingly contributed to FGR's successful season are currently injured: - Jamille Matt [43 games], Ben Stevenson [41 games] & Matty Stevens [41 games].
Stevens & Matt have scored 43 goals [25 & 18]. Next best goalscorer is Jack Aitchison with 7.
Stevens is out for many months with ACL injury. The other two may or may not be available for selection for next few games which are now coming thick and fast.
It is what Sir Alex called 'squeaky bum time'.

Love how Vale fans are so easily triggered.

It’s going to be a fun end, who knows what will happen, just enjoy the ride!*

*until we finish 4th and lose to Newport in the semi finals

Oh how awful, could you imagine.

That’s my point, surely it should have been a red

Only a red if denying a goal scoring opportunity, which it wasn’t.

It was a silly bit of decision making, wanted to let it run into the box to collect but should have dealt with it and smashed it away. Luckily we got away with it

Haven’t seen it again yet and was too low down in the stand to see from the opposite side, possibly a covering man? The Fleetwood one I’ve seen on Twitter he was miles out and last man.

If Stone saw red then autos would be over! Holy (shit) in goal would be the end and assume Covolan is either injured or still in the doghouse for Swindon.

I mean i’m saying it impartially i’m not going down the route of that bristol rovers fan hoping opposition teams have injuries or suspensions was just curious.

If honest i thought the keeper handling outside the box was a straight red regardless.

He was last man. Can they do a retrospective red ;-)

It depends if its a goal scoring opportunity. Oldham player is running in on him, but I guess somehow the ref thought he wasn't going to score

It's one that is always a debate, you could say that if he didn't handle it he would have booted it or blocked it away, therefore it could be considered not an obvious goalscoring opportunity? It's all about perceived intent and the individual circumstances. Did he genuinely believed that he was inside the area? I would have also only cautioned him for that one.

i thought he was in trouble inside the ground but googled it and apparently it's not even an automatic yellow card.

it's red where you deny an obvious goalscoring opportunity
yellow if you stop a promising attack
freekick and no card otherwise

If 1 loss in 18, and 7 wins from 8, is 'pretty good form', I'd hate to see your concept of superb or excellent form?
I'd have though that would be obvious: 0 losses in 18 and 8 wins from 8...

To be fair, I had to find a term that encapsulated Mansfield's slightly worse form as well.

the problem being is if we go in the playoffs we’ll fuck up and lose, it’s like we may we well start planning for league 2.

After newport drawing i’m more optimistic that we’d finish in the playoffs.

Apparently, Mansfield can win their last six games and still finish fourth.

We won 1-0 at Swindon with a 90th minute goal.

Swindon fans, how you feeling? I guess the injuries have become a bit much to power through the season? I feel your game in hand (against who?) is a must win otherwise you’re out of the race potentially

I can’t see any side winning all their remaining games - we certainly won’t

I think it is fair to say that only FGR or Exeter will become EFL2 Champions in May.
FGR have topped table for entire season with exception of 1st game: - Two teams scored more for better wins than FGR 2-1 Sutton ie Swindon 3-1 Scunthorpe, Harrogate 3-2 Rochdale.
Also Game 6 when FGR drew 0-0 with Exeter that dropped FGR down to 2nd spot.
Therefore should FGR win title they cannot claim they've been top all season.
Conversely Exeter have not once this season topped table.
Should Exeter overhaul FGR it would probably be near or at last game of season.
Genuine question: Has any team won title on last game of season without ever topping table during season?

I believe this once happened some years ago in Italy although I forget year or team.
And closely related I think that Bristol Rovers or Cheltenham were relegated to Conference on last match of season without ever appearing in a relegation spot until that game.

Yeah, bristol rovers got relegated on the last day after we won 1-0 down there. Unfortunate but well, it’s where you are after 46 games….

Was quite an interesting afternoon.

You just cant guess games, especially at this stage, you could easily lose to Stevenage, we could easily lose the next 5 you just don't know, we could both hit poor form and Salford waltz up to third.
