Swindon fans, how you feeling? I guess the injuries have become a bit much to power through the season? I feel your game in hand (against who?) is a must win otherwise you’re out of the race potentially

Absolutely fine thanks Gassy. I am going to Turkey for 2 weeks on Sunday for a bit of Spring sunshine which i'm very much looking forward to. I was in Lincoln over the weekend on a very pleasant City break so thankfully avoided seeing our meek surrender to Newport.

Our game in hand is at home to FGR. I doubt we'll pick up too many points between now and the end of the season, we had a pretty favourable run in but we haven't made a hugely good fist of it. At least we should be a bit more organised for league 2 next season although I suspect Jack Payne, Louis Reed, possibly Wollacott and a few more will probably move onwards to league 1 clubs which will be large boots to fill.

Yeah, bristol rovers got relegated on the last day after we won 1-0 down there. Unfortunate but well, it’s where you are after 46 games….

Was quite an interesting afternoon.

Haha! I remember that, well I remember the rovers fans spitting dummy out

The one and only time i’ve seen horses on a pitch.

I’ve seen plenty of donkies, but that’s a different story!

Didn't Portsmouth do that a few years back? They were only top for something like 30 minutes of the season
Yeah in 16/17. Doncaster we’re top virtually all season with Plymouth 2nd and Pompey leapfrogged both on the final day.

If we carry on as we have been the last 8 games 9 points is well within reach... we have 22 points from 24 so 9 from 15 would be modest.

But can we carry it on is the big question! We rarely do long winning runs!

Tell us what results you have us down for then and provide some genuine thinking to it, rather than complete and utter guesswork done purposefully to ensure Mansfield end up ironically, just above us?

Desperate, as though an opportunity has been missed. To be fair to Ben Garner he started with hardly any team, created a pretty good one that got decimated in January by recalls, suspensions and injuries all of which we didn’t have pre Xmas. 10k home support again on Saturday and that needs to materialise in the summer transfer market. We need a bigger squad with options on the bench. Having said that we are only 4 points off the play offs with a game in hand so all is not lost. Having said that we need 4/5 wins and 2/1 draws from our remaining 6 games. Our game in hand is home to FGR which, depending on their next few results, could either be a good or bad thing.

Genuine question - Do you go to games as City Breaks and Holidays during the season would suggest not?

So you don't think we'll win any of our games against the sides around us? Interesting. We'll see then, won't we?

I just hope it's done and dusted before the final day. Can't be dealing with final day drama.

The final run in always throws up a surprise result or two. I just hope we're not on the receiving end of any of them. I'm more concerned with the Hartlepool and Walsall games than I am the Bristol Rovers, Newport and Exeter ones.

There is zero, literally zero, chance of you beating us. None whatsoever.

IF we win Friday we will have the best away record in the league, have beaten better teams than Exeter away already this season, not saying it will happen but there is no reason we can't win at Exeter. We wont be favourites in the tie but we are currently the best team in the league over 6, 8 and 10 games.

That said I would rather we didn't need a result there and we can all be partying together and shaking hands at full time on the pitch.

Over 6 matches you're joint best with a certain other team.

Not anywhere like in previous years. I used to go with my dad and a good friend of his to about half of the home games, when I lived in London it was really easy to get to Swindon but after the Covid years my dad has lost interest and his good friend died last year and now I've moved away from London to Northamptonshire getting to the game is harder. In fact I've only been to 1 home game this season (Man City in the cup) and 3 away. (Stevenage, Northampton, Crewe) Watched almost all on Ifollow however.

We've a holiday apartment which we use every Easter, (Covid years aside) I like using the 2 bank holidays to negate digging into my holiday allowance.

we've beaten 2 better (if you go by the pyramid) away FGR away and Burton.
The assertion that FGR are better than us is baseless. We haven't played the same teams, the same amount of times. so until we have played everyone equally it is meaningless. The second assertion that Burton are better than us is based on them being higher in the football pyramid, another nonsensical claim. That is like saying FGR have a worse squad than Crewe.

Lastly, our team is different now to when we had that awful run earlier in the year, so comparing that team with the squad and players we have available now also makes little sense where we lost a lot of points which effects our rankings in the current table. The squad we currently have (especially if Nombe is back for our game) is categorically the best team in this league, and will likely get us back to back promotions if we keep onto our players. You have zero chance of beating us, literally zero. You might get lucky with a draw, but you aren't beating us. I'll happily have egg on my face if you do, but you won't, so I won't
