Today felt like a big win and step to securing a playoff spot. Get another win on Monday v Newport and I’ll be a little more confident

I have to say I’m impressed you’ve kept up. After seeing you a few times this season I must admit I haven’t been very impressed and kept predicting you to fall away. It looks like you were drifting out but you’ve turned that right around, fair play

Don’t bite mate, this is the bloke who thought Exeter had 2000+ fans in our home end, can’t count or recognise numbers and that Walsall are a bigger club than us
We did have loads in your end. I'd know, I was literally there. And Walsall are a bigger club than you? How is that even up for debate, seriously?

The two games at the Memorial Ground were played (especially the league game in February) by injury hit Sutton sides to be fair.

As for the game at GGL that was far more even and it took a late penalty (another stupid penalty given away against Rovers, we’ve given a stupid foul in the box every time we’ve played you) for Rovers to take a point (not to mention how lucky they got with that chance missed right at the end of injury time).

In general I try not to judge opponents on how they play against Sutton if I’ve only seen them play Sutton, otherwise I would think Mansfield (who we’ve doubled this season) were a poor side and Walsall (who’ve doubled us) were a great side

From my perspective Sutton seemed more keen on the dark arts than actually trying to play a game of football. They looked very physical in midfield and defence but also rolled around on the floor at every opportunity.

It's very effective at this level but I would not say particularly comfortable or enjoyable to watch. Northampton play in a similar manner and struggle in the league above where you actually need to be able to play football.

Nah we’re done, we weren’t going to do it anyway,

I don’t doubt that next season we will have an excellent chance of going up top 3, is this season too early - maybe?

We rely on 3 players too much / take them our side and were buggered.

Oates and McLaughlin are not coming back anytime soon I don’t think, going to be tough without them.

Anyone who thinks bloody Walsall are a bigger club than Bristol Rovers shows themselves to be completely deluded, but we knew this already!

The Gas are a huge club at this level, far bigger than Walsall and far bigger than Exeter.

Sure, but we’ve had 5+ injuries literally all season. The game at your place we were awful that day I thought, but at the time you were top of the form table (I think?) and 3rd in the table - I don’t mean it with any disrespect, I just thought you’d be better considering where you were in the table.

It’s a fair point on not judging teams from 2/3 games, yet at the same time - it’s all we have.

Walsall are much, much bigger than Walsall. I never argued we are bigger than Brizzle Rovers. Although we do have a better team, much better.

The reason you think Bristol Rovers are huge at this level, when this is their natural level, shows how tin pot you are and the dizzy heights of L2 are getting to you. In the last 20 years, which club have been above who more? Walsall or Bristol Rovers?

Walsall also have the bigger (and much better) stadium. We need no reminders of Bristol Rovers away end. Below conference standard.

Yeah Bristol Rovers do need to get rid of the non-league stadium to be fair, a new stadium could result in a massive change of fortunes for them.

Tbh I missed the game at the Lane (although I was at both games at the Memorial Ground) so my comments are based in highlights- and whilst we were going in high in the form table, that isn’t saying too much in this division this season where teams tend to wildly fluctuate in form, I actually think that was our 3rd draw in a row at home after two thrilling 0-0s with Salford and Northampton.

I have noticed throughout the season a narrative that we tend to win or get points purely on other teams failings, rather than our own merits (I do fully admit to being a little paranoid to be fair).

As for the gamesmanship/dark arts/whatever I’ve not seen a single team that hasn’t engaged in it. We’re just better at it than most (apart from Swindon, they were another level in it at their place, I hope we took notes).

I’m still not convinced we’re making the playoffs mind you.

Never agree with an idiot. They will drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Wycombe seemed to do ok with that style going into League One.

I think that narrative (if true) probably resonates from 2 things:

1. You’re Sutton and no disrespect intended but for a lot of teams here it’s embarrassing to be losing to you on budgets, size, stadiums etc - so it eases the pain
2. You’re an old school league 2 team. Back 10+ years ago everyone played like you do now, L2 has moved closer towards high press, passing football - but you have a specific and effective style of play that clearly works. And when you come up against a team like that, you more think you’re bad, than they are good - if that makes sense?

Let's not beat around the bush here, it's nothing to do with their stature or budget, Sutton are the Grand Wizards of shithousery, I know it, you know it, everybody knows it.

Sutton were extraordinarily dire to watch and you can understand how they get so few fans, but they weren’t half good at it.

It genuinely makes me laugh that the majority of teams at this level have watched the likes of Liverpool and Manchester City and think they are able to successfully replicate it. Guys, you’re in the 4th tier, the lowest level where every team are full-time professional. You’re here for a reason (and it isn’t because your fallen giants down on your luck…..).

The only ‘good’ style of Football is winning Football. Sutton have done a lot of that in the last couple of seasons. As a Sutton fan I find this entertaining. I’d rather my team play to their strengths and win.

Our home crowds have gotten more than 5 times bigger in the last 7 years. 2 championships, a few cup runs and (as of right now) a couple of playoff bids will do that.

Mansfield were poor both times I’ve seen them btw…..

Sometimes you get found out by sides who aren’t as good as you over the course of the season (which i wouldn’t expect you to be) but have our number in a 1 on 1 march, harrogate are the same - big, physical, fall over all the time, basically a league 2 burnley.

Quite a few expected us to struggle yesterday which we did. Having won 11 at home in a row we can’t win them all

They looked dangerous on the break against us with some pacey players, but their shooting/final ball was very erratic. They looked more dangerous than Northampton who I cant believe are still right up there.
