I think the 'mega wages' comment is a dig, certainly! We all know that 'mega wages' and '7k crowds' don't guarantee success at this level, and I don't really see why MA is using it as an excuse.

He's not, he's (correctly) saying that it does make it that little bit harder for smaller clubs like us to compete with you. Why are Rovers fans getting so defensive over it all?

God, I feel dirty defending the cretin. See what you make me do?!

Really, the comment is aimed at Barnet fans to say how well the team has done when we don't get the highest attendances in the league and don't pay the most money. If you think this is a dig then it says more about your ego than the contents of the open letter.

MA's letter is clearly directed at Barnet fans and intended to explain to Barnet fans that regardless of our current form, performances and tactics, we have done bl00dy well to compete with sides who can splash the cash in the way that other sides have done - I don't think this is a dig at any one side, just stating the fact that we do not have the financial clout to compete on an even footing with some of the other challengers.

I personally couldn't give a monkey's about Allen's past at BFC and if we get promoted, I won't care how we achieved promotion so if this letter helps to unite a few people behind our common goal, or gets a few more people to go down to Eastleigh then it was a perfectly good idea.

If Urban or any other BFC fan who is so consumed with negativity cannot accept that at this point in time, this season as a whole has been a pretty successful one, then I don't think any letter from MA or anyone else for that matter will do anything to help with that.

By a long way. Matt Glennon told me Tuesday night it was the worst pitch he'd ever been on. But it's not the Halifax groundstaff they are being royally shafted and their hands are tied.

He just happened to mention our last crowd as a specific number then?

Don't get me wrong, I understand you point - and you are right, but you can't say he isn't talking about us there at all. The fact it made it into our local paper kinda sums that bit up

He mentioned the largest crowd in the league and it's yours, so yes he was talking about you. Now get over it.

So where does this story claim that Allen is taking a dig at Bristol Rovers?
or did you have a different news article trying to claim Allen was having a pop?

If it's being 'consumed with negativity' to see that our season is now going down the shitter thanks to the tactics brought about by MA then I hold my hands way up high proudly. I was the first (and only) one to predict that this would happen many months ago, when I was shot down, accused of not being a true fan and laughed at. 3 1/2 months on, it was apparently still negative to think that we'd mess it up.

Yes, this season has been successful, but if you're willing to be happy with throwing away an 11 point lead with form leaving us with the possibility of maybe missing out on the playoffs altogether, then that's you. I'm more realistic than you though, so I'm not happy with it nor am I happy with our twat of a manager.

Haha fair play, I just saw the headline, didn't actually read it. Get over it? I was never under (?) It.. All I said that it was a dig. Which I still believe it is. He mentions our crowd and mega wages - it's about us. That's my opinion anyway, or am I not allowed to have an opinion?

I don't know why you're getting so defensive if I'm honest

The fact it is in your local paper and such a big fuss is being made about it in the West Country says more about you. It is the same over reaction we saw from Luton where Richard Money couldn't breath without being accused of having a meltdown. It was all a bit obsessive, like this is becoming.

Our game on the Final day at Bristol Rovers has been announced as all ticket

Glad we're only giving you 100 odd seats in stead of the 1,100 terrace and 250 seats. Will be used to home fans now and hopefully an 11,000 crowd to see us win the trophy

Imagine missing out on promotion at home, in front of a sell out crowd just one year on from missing out on survival at home, in front of a sell out crowd. That would be a real shame ;)

Dont think we will sell out the 145 odd seats TBH. Giving us a 1,100 stand all to ourselves would have been silly. Good move.

Really looking forward to it. If you choke though and we beat you I may fear for our safety!! I mean you smashed up your team bus when you drew 0-0 at our place

We didn't smash our team bus up. 1 fan went on the coach to ask the players ' what the fuck was that ' basically

Actually what would be funnier would be if Rovers were to be mathematically out of the title race by the final day, having made their final fixture all-ticket.

Yeah I couldn't think of anymore more funny then a team making a game all ticket but not even needing it to be. Ha' ha

I feel the need for an auto promotion review. So since reaching our highest point of being 9 points ahead on New years day we have dropped 8 points to our rivals.
Our lowest point being after the second Grimsby defeat at the end of Feb:
Barnet 35 +35 68
Bristol Rovers 35 +20 67
Macclesfield 34 +18 64
Grimsby 34 +24 59
Forest Green 35 +17 58
Since then Macclesfield have effectively lost their game in hand, while Grimsby have gained 3 points on us and Bristol.
Barnet 39 36 75 (+7)
Bristol Rovers 39 21 74 (+7)
Macclesfield 39 15 71 (+7)
Grimsby 38 27 69 (+10)
Forest Green 39 21 66 (+8)

What is pleasing to see is Bristol Rovers solid defence has conceded 4 goals in two games which suggests though either injury or nerves they are less solid than they were. With Grimsby having a game in hand they could've got to second and been 1 point behind if they hadn't slipped up against Chester late on.

7 games to go and all to play for. I'm going to say the key games coming up are the Bristol v Macc game plus Grimsby having to play 2 playoff challengers. Hope for us is Macc beat Bristol, Grimsby Lose to Eastleigh and beat Gateshead.

Well I'm over the fact we blew it last saturday and full of optimism again. Well at least until I realised we've got Eastleigh at home this week, a very good away team against a very bang average home team. Gonna be a huge ask to win this but if we do, we'll still be in it. It's our hardest remaining game by some margin.

I thought the title race for us was over after losing to Macc at New year, we have some how clawed our way back into it with 10 games to go and I reckoned to win it we needed to win 9 out of 10 games with all of them on paper winnable, but the one I thought we would lose was Eastleigh at home. So after last Sat if we draw or win I think we still have a chance, lose though and the long shot becomes impossible. As you say its our only true hard game left, the rest we don't have any excuses for dropping points in.

Not quite sure how it works that Alfreton could decide the title just because they still have them to play. They'll lose to all three comfortably anyway.

On early season form you would say that without a doubt but at this time of the season the pressure is very much on and results can against the form book. All that shows is we COULD play a integral part not that we will. I too expect to lose are three but only by the odd goal and not 7-0 again like Grimsby

What about Macclesfield?

This is a four way fight and it will be whoever holds their nerve that goes on to win this. None of the top four are invincible so there will be slip ups across the board, regardless of the relative league positions of each opponent.

The key fact in this is that if we win all 7, we are champions. We won't win all 7 so it's very much all to play for.

So if you won't win all 7 then that isn't really a key fact is it?
