Over the last 4 seasons we've beat Alfreton 6 times and drew once, with an aggregate scoreline of 29-10. Our games with them are always rammed with goals, although the draw last season was largely because of Akinde. Even so I wouldn't be 100% certain we'll beat them. It's about time they give us a thrashing after all the ones we've given them.

That Grimsby are considered bigger threats to top spot than the non-mentioned #MaccMachine according to that is an absolute insult, especially when you take into account the regularity in which they shit themselves in front of their own fans.

Barnet have the easier run-in IMO.

Yep wondered why Macc aren't being discussed, I'd still consider them 3rd favourite in front of us.

Two reasons I have Grimsby as third.
1. Goal difference means they only need to match Bristol and Macc points total
2. If they win the game in hand they are within 1 win of top spot, Macc already need two results to catch up

Probably because if you ask fans of any of the last 7/8 teams we've played they'll be wondering how we're where we are.

Talk about squeaky bum time, eh?

Barnet have the nicest run-in without a doubt, but I don't think any game at this stage of the season can be considered easy. In theory we should be able to win every game we have left, but we haven't been at our best recently and it has caught up with us. We were a lot better in the second half at Halifax though and were unlucky not to go on and win it, so if we play like that from now on in we should be okay.

I'm fairly nervous about Friday's game. Win and it obviously puts pressure on everyone else, but it would be typical Rovers to blow the opportunity!

Probably because we are bang in form at the minute, whereas Macc, as admitted by their own fans, are stuttering big time and playing shit.
You don't like us very much, do you.......?!
I know it must piss you off finishing below us every season but just get over it........... :giphy: :box: :fing: :P1:

Looks like a massive weekend for Grimsby. You would expect at least 2 of us , Barnet and Macclesfield to win the weekend. Grimsby have by far the toughest fixture. If the same Eastleigh turn up against them as against us then they will be in for a tough afternoon.

We're in a play off chase. No need to involve us, please just go about you're business and we'll maybe speak again in a few weeks time. ;)

I'm utterly indifferent towards both you as a poster and your club, actually, it'll take more than that for me to care. I'm just saying it as it is, plenty will agree.

Wut.

Your run in is lovely. Hardest game away at Dover (after Macc) with nice home games against Alfreton, Aldershot, Southport and Chester.

Granted we have Welling, Alfreton, Nuneaton and Dartford as our next four, but following that are tricky matches against Halifax, Kiddy and Gateshead - not the teams you want to be playing at squeaky bum time! There's no guarantee that the next four will be easy either - Alfreton away in particular could be a banana skin, especially with their recent form.

Get Macc out the way and you're looking at a very comfortable closing 6 matches.

Couple of weeks time Halifax and Gateshead could be out of playoff contention as well. Especially if FGR or Eastleigh continue to do well.

We're not a tough game, especially not at home where we've failed to win in 2015 :ffs:

Look, just give it 15 or 20 years and then maybe you might have one season where you manage to finish above us, then hopefully some of your bitterness may disappear and you may even cheer up a bit.

People said exactly the same thing when we played Lincoln and Wrexham...

Those two without anything to play for are still decent teams who could cope with us.

You were more lucky you weren't 3 or 4 down before you got one back. :box:

No they didn't. Certainly not with Lincoln which was at the end of a run of a few games in a short space of time.

They definitely did with Wrexham, as it was one of the times I got a bunch of people calling me all sorts for saying it'll be a tough match. Lo and behold, we lost...

Wrexham are a decent side, when they click. From the highlights I've seen throughout the season the quality of their approach play is good for this level.
Kiddy seem to be on a downward spiral with there being a general air of pessimism around the club. They are a totally different proposition.

It's not your prediction that it would be a tough match that got you stick, we all said it. the general consensus was a draw would be a good point.
Wrexham have beaten us once already and appear to be improving. Tough game that I would be happy to get a point from.

What got you stick was the claims you made on the thread that our season was over.

No chance. Plenty of people were saying they thought we'd win easy, and weren't open at all to the possibility of us losing.
