I still expect Kiddy and Gateshead to give us a decent game and despite todays mauling of Halifax I still know we have it in us to slip up if we go behind early or try to sit on a lead.

Akinde will have an absolute field day if Kiddy's defence is anything like it was on Monday. The small inkling of hope I have left is that on their day, Gateshead can pick up points away from home (see Grimsby). But after today's showing at Woking, even that looks doubtful.

Definitely not looking past Kiddy. We need to go there and earn the three points.

When we won the title in 1991, some saw it as a formality as we were away at an atrocious Fisher side that we had spanked 8-1 earlier that year. Didn't look quite the procession when we found ourselves 2-1 down early on in the second half, and we only made sure of victory late on.

It'll be awful for football if Forest Green and Eastleigh finish in 4th and 5th.
And you can bet your arse it is gonna happen, dreading it if we get FGR, cannot ever remember a game against them that was easy, always really tight games even
when we win, nearly always only 1 goal in it either way, 180 mins of tight, one goal in it football I will be a nervous wreck!

I'm really bloody nervous about the possibility of Eastleigh or FGR in the playoffs, I have a feeling either of them beat us.

I know this might seem awfully pessimistic, but I'm now in the mindset of wanting us to win our next two games to have momentum for the playoffs. I truly think Barnet have won the league, so if they don't it's a big added bonus but I'm fully geared up for playoffs.

If barnet win both their games then fair play , it's taken massive balls from them to almost fuck it up and go again . I just don't want us to give it them .il be happy to beat Dover and take it to the final day .

Surprised we won in the manner we did today. Really looking forward to our game at Kiddy off the back of that performance, should be a great atmosphere (with some good food hopefully!).

Only need Dover to do us any kind of favour tomorrow and we win the title if we win. Come on lads!

The worry for Barnet and Brizzle is that the one that finishes 2nd will fail in the play-offs. Credit to Barnet I didn't think they'd keep their noses in front, but they should do it now.

So many ways of looking at it. If we win the next 2 games and barnet don't then we are champions. Thats probably the best way to put it for us. Barnet could beat kidderminster 6-0 then draw 1-1 with Gateshead and not be champions. It's very exciting

I only dislike teams for a short while after they've hammered us and it's a while now since you did that and it may not happen at all next season. I'm feeling quite happy today after our unexpected and well deserved win against in-form Dover. Not sure where that came from after the dross we've watched since mid Feb.

I also really don't want want Eastleigh or FGR. With the exception of Dover who we haven't played yet, they're the only 2 teams we haven't beaten this season

Unless you go up as Champions, which of course is still possible, then it is likely that you might have to face either Eastleigh or Rovers. With two games remaining, three for Eastleigh, it really is perm any two from four with Woking and Macclesfield to add to the two teams already mentioned. From our point of view there is a lot of satisfaction from the win yesterday, which many of us felt was the game we had to win in the run in as it would dent Macclesfield's play off chances and put the outcome back in our hands. Two games to go, win both and we are in the play-offs...are we confident, absolutely not, often a good performance is followed up with a stinker. I expect us to go into the Dover game on the last day needing to win, whether that is to guarantee a fourth or fifth place finish, who knows...history teaches us that we will probably need results elsewhere to go our way, plenty of twists and turns remaining.

That's my order of preference. As previously mentioned, our matches with FGR are always tight. They've got a well balanced squad with plenty of solid players at this level. I'm particularly remembering Pipe being an absolute beast for Newport against us in the playoffs two seasons ago. Beaten Woking twice and with Garry Hill baying for revenge, I wouldn't fancy playing them even though I think Eastleigh are more of an attacking threat. Macc are probably everyone's number one choice. Having said that, they will certainly go into the playoffs as the underdogs which could work for them.

Here in a nutshell is why we are having to make do with the play offs again:

http://www.statto.com/football/teams/grimsby-town

8 points less picked up at home than away, pretty staggering really, if our home form was even just average we would already have it wrapped up, but only 10 wins from 22 games is just shite. :bang::bang:

With the form Eastleigh are in, I can see them reaching and winning in the playoffs. As for 1st place, its tough. If any of Barnet or Rovers slip up could end their season.

I want Rovers and Eastleigh up myself.

Why exactly?
Actually, I can't see why any non-Eastleigh fan would want them up.

Still learning about the non-leagues and Eastleigh don't seem too bad.

Eastleigh aren't in great form. They've lost two out of their last five, which includes a defeat to us. Three out of their last ten, which includes a defeat to Barnet. They're below us, Barnet, Brizzle, FGR and Woking in the form tables.

They're on TV at the weekend though, Lib, so you'll be able to make your mind up about them if you get the time to watch them.

Seriously? Must be following this in the wrong way then. I swear I haven't seen a bad result from them since I began following a while back, and I've been looking at the results every matchday.

I don't know about the performances though, so I won't comment on those.
