Seriously? Must be following this in the wrong way then. I swear I haven't seen a bad result from them since I began following a while back, and I've been looking at the results every matchday.

I don't know about the performances though, so I won't comment on those.
You must just be missing their defeats. Admittedly, they don't draw much at the moment. Just in case you missed my edit in the above post, they're on TV this weekend.

Still learning about the non-leagues and Eastleigh don't seem too bad.
What's not bad about them? They've been bankrolled to this level and as a team are a classic case of a bunch of expensive (at this level) individuals rather than a team.
Also, when I went down there they sold out of programmes half an hour before kick-off and the toilet facilities were a mite primitive.

So they're the Chelsea of this division?

I can imagine that's how they got ahold of James Constable.

Not really a Chelsea, as Chelsea have historically been a top level club with a few spells in the second division.
More like Wigan Athletic or Fulham when they were on the rise.

Fulham were also historically a First div club. Well they were when I started going in the very early 60's.

They were in the top division for a spell in the 50s and 60s but that was pretty much their only spell before the Fayed-bankrolled one and they were never going to get to the top division pre-Fayed.

Oppo players try harder against Eastleigh, in the hope that they impress Richard Hill enough to sign them up.

Anyone needing Eastleigh to slip up to give their own PO chance a boost will most likely be disappointed, we have been dogshit at SB lately, I have seen us get one point out of the last possible fifteen at home. Couple that with our poor recent tv record (though first on tv for ages) and it would seem like a pretty cast iron away banker. Only crumb of comfort for me is that it brings this season to an end.

There is an element of truth in that players play well against Eastleigh to try and catch the eye of the manager. But there is also the fact that players agents from most clubs from Birmingham down have already contacted folk at the club to see if there is any possibility of a move to Eastleigh next season. Of course, this scenario goes on all over the place and not just at Eastleigh. It shouldn't be a big surprise that players want to play for a club that is on the up & treats their players very well, rather than wanting to play or remain at football clubs that might have a longer history and even a FL history, but have gone stale in recent times and are not expecting to get back into the FL for sometime to come.
What would you do if you were a player playing for say Lincoln, Woking or Aldershot? If i played for any of those 3 clubs, i'd have my agent calling Richard Hill every day.

I have no problem with Eastleigh at all, I thoroughly enjoyed my weekend there. The fans and staff were friendly, facilities were OK, admission was cheaper than just about all other conference clubs.

The fact that you've included us with two massively under-acieving clubs is insulting in itself let alone the thought that any of our players would want to play for Richard Hill, hence why Yemi has joined us (thanks by the way). :2thumb:

Then again, you've probably been following Eastleigh for 6 months or so so I'll excuse your complete lack of knowledge.

Don't forget that he's probably a Southampton fan too. He only goes because the season tickets are £2.50. If they don't make the play-offs this year their owner will get bored and they'll go bust.

Jesus, just about sums things up when we get stick from the likes of furking Eastleigh. Anyone who thinks that the huge majority of players who want to play for a them does it for anything other than money are very one dimensional, and or delusional, but probably both!

Looks like Eastleigh will secure 4th now. Fair enough, I didn't fancy another trip up to Grimsby on a Tuesday night. Providing we take six points from Nuneaton (A) and Halifax (H), I can see Macclesfield and FGR dropping points from their last two. All to play for regarding 5th still. Helps us that Nuneaton have been relegated, hopefully they roll over and let us score ten.

and our away leg is Thursday at 19:45, fuck knows why....? :dk:

Let's be honest, even before yesterday we weren't going to get 4th. We need FGR to drop 3 and Macc to drop 2, which is definitely achievable, and our goal difference could prove very important. As long as we win on Saturday, we're still in it on the final day and then who knows what could happen.

Win Saturday and then it's down to THE LOTTERY OF THE FINAL DAY.
