I said a couple of weeks ago that we would end up with 86/87 points and that's looking like a pretty decent shout right now.

We could do with a massive favour from Braintree on Tuesday but it will be the away form of Bristol Rovers and Macclesfield that determines the title race - if both continue to drop points on a regular basis, we still have a great chance.

Our away form? We've won 3 and drew 2 of our last 5. That's averaging more then two points a game. Haven't you lost your last 3?

If we've somehow, someway got one more run left in us, there is a small glimmer of hope. I'm basing this off Rovers playing Macc and Barnet looking like they've got a couple of losses left in them. Let's assume we (and Macc) win our game in hand and at the least keep up with the others. If Barnet lose one and Rovers / Macc draw, we'll potentially be 3 points behind all three.

Will take an unbelievable effort but all we need is one string of wins and we could claw ourselves back into it. The players have absolutely no excuse not to be up and motivated for any coming games after they've beaten the leaders for 90% of the season twice. Even if we're in the playoffs again, absolute no excuse not to turn up this time.

Mind you there's a certain Halifax with a fair few games in hand :tw:

Think you'll need 10 wins from 12 games

We have indeed and our current form in general has been poor.

You've only won 6 of 18 away games all season. If you continue dropping points in two thirds of your away games, it keeps us in the hunt.

If you continue your current form at home and away, you will win the league by a couple of points imo.

We're getting stronger as the season goes on though. Think we're likely to win 5 and draw 1 of our remaining 6 at home and pick up 2 wins and a draw away from home. We'll finish around the 90 point mark

I really think the way the fixtures have fallen this week and next will see us fall away relatively soon. No game at the weekend gave Rovers chance to pull away with points on the board, plus a great opportunity to double that gap, and go top, against Braintree on Tues night. We then have to go to Eastleigh on saturday where a draw would be a great result on its own, but not enough if we're to keep up the pace. We then follow up with another mammoth trip to Braintree the following Tuesday, something all the players will be looking forward to no doubt!!

Starting to believe we can do this.

One point off the top seemed unimaginable even up until 10 days ago.

We are the most solid team and have massive momentum. We have only lost something like 1 in 27 or 28 and we have only lost 4 times in the league all season, 3 of those we either had a penalty against us or 10 men.

I feel a bit for you lot actually, regarding the way the fixture list has panned out.

Of course a two-week break may have no affect on you whatsoever, but for us it was definitely detrimental after our good run of form over Christmas (two below par performances and consequently draws at Woking and Dartford). Eastleigh away at lunchtime on Saturday is no easy task either.

Barnet fans - who is your game in hand against and when is it being played? Just looked through the fixture lists and we seem to match dates up - only with us playing tomorrow?

Weird that the original fixture was supposed to be played nearly a month ago and yet no re-arrangement yet (as far as I can see)

Halifax's fairly long involvement in the FA Trophy and the state of their pitch has been the reason for that.

I always forgot we have Jermaine Easter and Sinclair to come back next week. Perfect timing. Will feel like a new signing ;)

But now that they're out, why can't they commit to a date? I can't imagine huge numbers will travel up there from Barnet but it must be frustrating to have no idea when the game is being played for those that wish to go.

Yeah sounds about right, unbelievable effort but not totally impossible. Looking at our remaining fixtures there are only 3 or 4 where I think we'd do really well to win, the rest should be relatively comfortable. If only we were a team who prides ourselves on consistency.

We just have to keep trucking on and build some momentum for the playoffs. I still firmly believe our best starting 11 can be argued as the best in the league on paper at least. As long as we get don't get unlucky with injuries, the top three I'm sure will drop a few more points, if we can gain some ground one week without slipping up anymore we might start to gain some belief.

That said we'll probably losing against Telford tomorrow and all of this would have been for naught :dk:

No chance for us to win the league, in the unlikely event we caught Barnet we still have to catch both Bristol and Macc too, catching one top side it hard enough never mind three. The only way we would win the league now is to go on a run over 6,7,8 wins which hasn't happened in god knows how long is very unlikely to happen now.

Been saying since we lost to Lincoln and Macc over christmas that it was play-offs at best from now on and beating Barnet twice in that time hasn't changed my mind.

My mind hasn't changed either not in the slightest, but while it's mathematically possible I'll always look at our chances and at this stage, it's not actually as impossible as it seems. We're not a million miles away and it only takes us gaining ground on one match day to see that. It makes our two recent losses a little more frustrating as a point in both would've made a big difference.

If we're resigned to the playoffs as of right now then what's the point. We should always be looking to challenge while we can. Hurst saying if we lost on saturday then we still would've been okay is pretty pathetic.

Barnet you absolute shitcunts, I can sense you're going to fuck me over - I had a £1 bet on Chelsea, Derby, Bristol City, Shrewsbury and Barnet to win £40,000 if each team can win their respective leagues

Well yeah, we never ever want to do anyone associated with Stevenage any favours.

Make a exception for me though Mr rudey, I once managed Barnet to League One on Football Manager, surely this counts for something :gmc:

Halifax v Barnet rearranged for 17th March. Our next four games are now Alty A, FGR H, Eastleigh A and Halifax A. Those are not kind fixtures.

If we can match or better Bristol Rovers results over these games, we then face four of the current bottom six;

Welling (h), Alfreton (a), Nuneaton (h), Dartford (a).

Not saying they will be easy games but they certainly look more favourable than our next four, and Bristol Rovers' for that matter....

It's not over yet, Urban!

Realistically, we're getting to the stage of the season where playing teams in midtable (and in that, getting less and less to play for) are going to be the favourable fixtures. I'd certainly rather play those with less to play for than the teams scrapping for their lives to either win the league, get in the playoffs or survive.

Yet we've played more home games than away. Get it sorted you lot, you're wrecking our season. :box:

It's a very good point & again it seems the fixtures are against us on this one as well.
