Our mid 90s team would be competitive in the current spl.

Eric nixon
Gary stevens
Tony thomas
John mcgreal
Steve vickers
Johnny morrissey
Pat nevin
Kenny irons
Liam o brian
John aldridge
God muir.

I think every one of them played in the top flight at one time or another.... i dream of having 4 internationals now

I genuinely think that team would push celtic really clise this day and age

Think your current team would probably finish second in the SPL tbf.

Are there many games left where us, Dagenham, Tranmere, FGR, Dover and Barrow have to play each other?

We've got FGR and Dagenham at home.

Just a quick question but will all the clubs in the top 6/7at present be able to sustain bigger squads next season if they get promoted ? ie taking into account 1) Transfer window 2) Bigger subs bench.

I did a piece on them the other day. When you look at some of the players, it's incredible.

Dover have Tranmere away 11th March (Trophy depending) and Barrow away last game.

We play you and Barrow away and FGR at home. Given we have the best record away, that's not too bad I think.

I think we've only got FGR and Dover at Prenton Park and Barrow away.

We've actually got the best away record in the league.

Which is lucky for us, given we still have to go to Lincoln, Tranmere and Dagenham.

Dagenham, Tranmere and Dover, all at home for us. Not sure if it'll be significant though, as we just aren't the same team that we were before Christmas - it's probably going to come down to the last game between us and Dover to squeeze into the play-offs.

Rovers have arguably got too big a squad for this league. With the 5 subs rule, there are senior pros who regularly don't make the bench and our promising youngsters are loaned out to sides lower down the pyramid.

I think most of our rivals either have the squads to cope already or the finances to strengthen squad depth. The exception might be Dover, though don't know for sure.

We were fine when in L2 only 6 years ago, so I can't imagine we wouldn't be different now.

Just put £50 e/w on us at 16/1. Got a £30 free bet as well so put £15 e/w on FGR as well (4/1).

Well done Lincoln and Tranmere in coming first and second.

D&R at 16/1 is a very attractive price and worth a quid of anybodys money. I wrote D&R off a couple of months ago, now John Still's Daggers really do look like they could give Lincoln a run for their money.

I can't get my head around us being rated as 4 times less likely to win the league than FGR/Tranmere. I know it'll be linked to how much has been bet but still...

I'd have us more like 5/1 or 6/1 so to me, it's worth a few quid. I still think Lincoln will do it and we'll come 2nd-4th but even if we come second I'll be £167 up.

16/1? For a team second in the league, 3 points behind the leaders, who have an experienced quality manager who's won the league with 3 different clubs, a good record against the other contenders and no cup commitments. Madness.

That being said, it's definitely Lincoln's to lose. With so much in their favour, blowing it from here would be a massive failure.

Betfair have dropped their odds to 11/1 since I put the bet on. I'm a trend setter!

I look at them fixtures and 10 points minimum is needed if we're going to be in with a shout of winning the league. We've got tougher games to come but this would put us right in there with 12 games to go.

Good evening everyone.

No matter what happens from now, I can't put into words how proud I am of what the team have achieved this season - I was hoping for a play-off push with a close call to make it, what we've got is so much more. I can't ask for anything else, we just have to fight for every point, every win. The home games will be key.

If someone else betters our points tally, I will have no complaints. But I really think we can see this through - no-one gave us a chance to win the title at the start.

At this stage of season the title is for Lincoln to lose.
FGR could win at your place and still not overhaul those Imps.
But I just wonder how your squad will cope with both cup competitions and league games.
